I’m going to Eastern Michigan starting next year. If I can get a club I am going to put together finalized, could I use EMU as a WBO sponsored tournament location on a regular basis RE: Questions about the WBO - #Fafnir - Jun. 30, 2021 Just read the new post regarding COVID-19 precautions, and I have a couple questions: May organizers impose their own safety precautions? I’m still not comfortable with the idea of maskless tournaments, being that we’re extremely close to other participants during the launching phase of a match. For states like NC that require you to be fully vaccinated in order to go maskless, how will we be able to ensure the vaccination cards presented are legitimate? It’s quite easy to print one off and laminate it yourself, so unless you have access to each participant’s medical records, there’s no real way to ensure those who claim to be vaccinated are. (I recall NC Governor Cooper stating that this was the case, though I’m not 100% sure as I’m not seeing it on the official NC site. For this reason, I ask that you don’t hold me to this statement.) Also, I find the timing of this announcement quite odd. With the Delta variant being more contagious than the other strains and those under twelve years of age being unable to receive vaccines, I’m not really sure this is the best time. After all, aren’t a good many of tournament participants younger children? I believe I posted this in the correct thread, but if not, I apologize. RE: Questions about the WBO - Walter White - Jun. 30, 2021 How do I post on here? You have no ability to enforce them unless you have 100% control of the venue. You have to go by your region's rules or WBO's rules, whichever is stronger, and WBO just downgraded it's pandemic rules to suggestions and recommendations. If you feel it is not currently safe to hold a tournament because many participants aren't vaccinated, don't hold a tournament until either the pandemic runs it's course or until NC or WBO strengthen their requirements. RE: Questions about the WBO - eggblader - Jun. 30, 2021 ok. im confused. i made a post yesterday, that definitely was not made at 2:39 AM. why does it say that. RE: Questions about the WBO - Kei - Jul. 02, 2021 (Jun. 30, 2021 2:45 AM)#Fafnir Wrote: Just read the new post regarding COVID-19 precautions, and I have a couple questions: Organizers may certainly ask that participants follow their own safety precautions, within reason. I would just make sure they are outlined in your event proposal so we can review them. For instance, I will still be enforcing what are now the WBO’s recommendations at my tournaments. The problem with keeping the WBO’s recommendations as requirements is one of enforceability. As the volunteer organization facilitating events we do not have the ability to enforce compliance with them directly and precisely. If a player goes to an event and sees a WBO requirement not being enforced, it’s confusing and reflects badly on us. It’s up to the Organizers themselves ultimately, as it is they (and attendees) who are actually responsible for what happens at events. Everyone hosting and attending does so at their own risk. There was also the fact that local requirements are starting to change rapidly because vaccinations have started rolling out around the world. Some people in highly vaccinated regions were starting to get confused why their local regulations differed so greatly from the WBO’s, which were more restrictive. We initially implemented the rules as requirements because when the pandemic first started this was all very new to us and nobody but us was going to think specifically about what the best protocol for safely hosting Beyblade tournaments might be. Now, I would say the world is much more aware of what is generally safe and what is not. But at the end of the day, the WBO is not a health or governmental authority; as such, we deemed that it would be prudent to simply defer to such authorities and require that Organizers promise to follow whatever local regulations exist in their area than to try and enforce something that we can’t enforce in a region that we aren’t as familiar with as the local government. RE: Questions about the WBO - UnseenBurst - Jul. 04, 2021 What does passport mean (like on the member tab below the picture) RE: Questions about the WBO - LegendJustice - Jul. 13, 2021 What does it mean to print a thread? It means your computer will attempt to physically print the thread. There's usually a formatting page that pops up between that and it actually happening. RE: Questions about the WBO - BurningSands - Jul. 18, 2021 What is the WBO’s stance/policies regarding art theft and posting fanart (whether onto this site or on the WBO Discord)? Occasionally someone reposts, say, Beyblade fanart or a concept for a fan Beyblade. Is there any rule about crediting/tracing/infringing the artists’ rights/terms of use? Using stuff for profile pictures are generally agreed to be fair game, however At most, Im going to assume that we use common sense: Dont lie and falsely claim that you drew/made something you found online RE: Questions about the WBO - DeceasedCrab - Jul. 18, 2021 (Jul. 18, 2021 1:56 AM)BurningSands Wrote: What is the WBO’s stance/policies regarding art theft and posting fanart (whether onto this site or on the WBO Discord)? Using stuff for profile pictures are generally agreed to be fair game, however When it happens, just report it directly to staff. They'll take action. Art theft isn't cool in general if people take credit for drawing it and they didn't. Presenting someone else's work as your own is bad and getting caught will lead to general consequences. RE: Questions about the WBO - Instarez - Jul. 19, 2021 I'm putting this here because there isn't a thread to talk about this in the Wiki forums, and the WBO is directly related to the Wiki (The Wiki belongs to the WBO). I don't wanna bring up politics but this directly concerns the Fandom. Delete this and give me a warning for violating a rule is you want, however I feel that I should bring this up because again, this directly affects the Wiki Fandom is helping Twitch recruit people for the Navy by silencing everyone that talks (in the Navy stream chat) about war crimes, making the Navy seem like a perfect place with a clean slate. The US Military has done plenty of terrible things, so not presenting those upfront so a possible recruit could make a proper choice is just propaganda. By the way, the only reason the Navy would want to be on Twitch is to be more mainstream. Then they would gain more people, there's really no other reason. So, if the WBO doesn't want to support this propaganda and doesn't want to use Fandom, what would happen to the wiki (Example: Where would it be moved, would it be temporarily deleted with the info archived for later?). If the WBO decides to support this, Fandom has some pretty serious stuff leveled against them, so is their a reason to continue to stick with Fandom? Source: https://www.vice.com/en/article/akdpp5/navy-returns-to-twitch-but-you-cant-ask-about-war-crimes-in-chat RE: Questions about the WBO - DeceasedCrab - Jul. 20, 2021 Getting political is against the rules. "I don't wanna bring up politics" Brings up politics anyway. Look. In a public post is the wrong place to address your concerns about politics. Just PM the staff. Posting about it publicly in this thread is going to start a bad dialogue that breaks the rules over and over. |
