Normal Fantasy battles and magic battles are my specialty. But beybattles, not so much. That's why it takes me so long to write chapters lol. RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - CheetoBlader - May. 16, 2021 For me BeyBattles are fun and easy to write, although I do play with them a lot. Really easy to visualize and describe for me RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - DeltaZakuro - May. 16, 2021 To me its a mixed bag, depending on whats going in the plot it can be tough. Though Ive had no trouble writing battles. Its not as hard as people think it is. RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - CheetoBlader - May. 16, 2021 Best advice for people who wanna get better at writing Bey battles is either to watch YouTube videos with certain battles that match what you’re writing, or buy like 4 Beys and battle them to get a sense of what to write. Watching the anime as well applies to both, as it helps with detail and anime shenanigans. RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - reshiwum - May. 16, 2021 Any advice on writing descriptions on a fic/story in general? I am currently writing some stories, both in English —my second language— and in Indonesian—my main language. The stories i write in English are mostly Beyblade fanfics, while the ones i write in my main language are originals. I find it quite easy to write descriptions in my own language but a bit complicated in English —most of the time, i feel like my fics' descriptions are either too wordy or not enough— I feel like that there are too much conversations sometimes. So...Any advice? Would be really funky if there'd be any :] RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - MasterofDerp - May. 16, 2021 (May. 16, 2021 3:17 PM)tenma Wrote: Any advice on writing descriptions on a fic/story in general? Make sure that people can relate to characters through their emotions, their thoughts, and other aspects. This is especially important for bey battles. If you want your story to succeed, good beybattles are super important (May. 16, 2021 4:33 PM)MasterofDerp Wrote:(May. 16, 2021 3:17 PM)tenma Wrote: Any advice on writing descriptions on a fic/story in general? Being verbose can help your stories, but def save it for the emotional moments, character development, and beybattles. Funny moments and non emotional discussions can be pretty limited. Still, thank you very much! I'll try my best to improve my writing in the near future :] RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - PinkRose - May. 30, 2021 Question to all writer peeps out there: Which writing style do you prefer? Script/Play style, or Book/Narrative style? Personally, I prefer the latter, as it allows me to insert more detail into the story, and more emotion and life into the dialogue and interactions. For example: (Play style) A: *Gasps* How? How could this be?! (Narrative style) "How? How could this be?!" A gasps, eyes wide with shock, hands trembling. You can see that the Narrative style is better at expressing emotion and action and stuff. But hey, Script style has its uses too (but mostly in crackfics from what I've seen). So, which one do you like better? RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - Hollowmind13 - May. 30, 2021 (May. 30, 2021 12:12 PM)PinkRose Wrote: Question to all writer peeps out there: Which writing style do you prefer? Script/Play style, or Book/Narrative style? The narrative is better for those who can describe with ease (and is better on his native language), the script one is mostly for almost watching (thats why play). The differences are in format, script is the type of see (such as anime) while narrative is the type of read (such as books). But I personally prefer narrative for the details and better quality (my opinion) RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - BurningSands - May. 30, 2021 I prefer narrative. Script does have its uses, but I usually reserve that for cases where I want to see the dialogue word-for-word (especially since I wish to pitch an animated series one day) I personally prefer narrative because its easier to portray feelings and action in a meaningful way. Its easier to maintain the audience’s interest — for example, I like plays such as The Crucible, but sometimes reading the script solely doesnt keep my interest as well. Same with Beyblade script fics if theyre executed poorly and in a robotic way RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - reshiwum - May. 31, 2021 (May. 30, 2021 12:12 PM)PinkRose Wrote: Question to all writer peeps out there: Which writing style do you prefer? Script/Play style, or Book/Narrative style? I'm okay with both, though I prefer reading and writing in narrative style. I'm only intrigued to read script/play if it's neatly done, full of characterization and interesting wording, not just some bland 1-5 words spoke by the character. I've seen several horribly executed script/play-style fics with a bland wording and little to no characterization in each line and that's possibly the main reason why I prefer to read in narrative more than I do in script/play. RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - Ryuga's Son - Jun. 01, 2021 (May. 30, 2021 12:12 PM)PinkRose Wrote: Question to all writer peeps out there: Which writing style do you prefer? Script/Play style, or Book/Narrative style? I prefer Narrative/Book Style. Narrative Style is more versatile, cool to read, and easier to express character's emotions through. Lots of Script Writers fail to make good description and stuff, even though some of them (Like DeltaZakuro's) are fun to read. fireblaze1's and @XSabxManiacX's fan fics are descriptive, fun to read, and portray Character feelings way better than the best script writing style fan fics. Both styles have ups and downs, but I prefer Narrative Style. I'm a narrative style type of writer, but my writing is kinda odd when I'm writing beyblade fan fics. I'm planning on changing my writing style to this: “Heroes save worlds,” Clary said. “They don’t destroy them.” “And I am offering you that chance,” said Sebastian. “When you ascend that throne, you save the world. You save your friends. You have power unlimited. I am giving you a great gift, because I love you. You can embrace your own darkness and yet always tell yourself that you did the right thing. How is that for getting everything you want?” Clary closed her eyes for one heartbeat, and then another. Only enough time to see faces flash behind her eyelids: Jace, her mother, Luke, Simon, Isabelle, Alec. And so many more: Maia and Raphael and the Blackthorns, little Emma Carstairs, the faeries of the Seelie Court, the faces of the Clave, even the ghostly memory of her father. She opened her eyes, and walked toward the throne. She heard Sebastian, behind her, draw a sharp breath. So, for all the surety in his voice, he had doubted, hadn’t he? He had not been sure of her. Behind the thrones the two windows flickered like video screens: one showing desolation, the other Alicante under attack. She caught glimpses of the inside of the Accords Hall as she reached the steps and walked up them. She moved steadily. She had made her decision; there was no faltering now. The throne was huge; it was like climbing up onto a platform. The gold of it was icy cold to her touch. She reached the last step, turned, and took her seat. Or to this style: Together they fought any Rider they met. With each kill their strength grew. Twelve of the Riders joined Galbatorix out of desire for power and revenge against perceived wrongs. Those twelve, with Morzan, became the Thirteen Forsworn. The Riders were unprepared and fell beneath the onslaught. The elves, too, fought bitterly against Galbatorix, but they were overthrown and forced to flee to their secret places, from whence they come no more. “Only Vrael, leader of the Riders, could resist Galbatorix and the Forsworn. Ancient and wise, he struggled to save what he could and keep the remaining dragons from falling to his enemies. In the last battle, before the gates of Dorú Areaba, Vrael defeated Galbatorix, but hesitated with the final blow. Galbatorix seized the moment and smote him in the side. Grievously wounded, Vrael fled to Utgard Mountain, where he hoped to gather strength. But it was not to be, for Galbatorix found him. As they fought, Galbatorix kicked Vrael in the fork of his legs. With that underhanded blow, he gained dominance over Vrael and removed his head with a blazing sword. “Then as power rushed through his veins, Galbatorix anointed himself king over all Alagaësia. “And from that day, he has ruled us.” Making my writing style to kinda like this style might make my writing more descriptive, fun to read, etc. RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - SacredXcalibur - Jun. 02, 2021 (Jun. 01, 2021 5:14 PM)Ryuga's Son Wrote:I agree with everything you're saying. Narrative style is a lot easier to keep track of as well. Characters can show emotion and perform actions. If a battle occurs in narrative style you can add a lot more detail than script battles. RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - PinkRose - Jun. 02, 2021 Welp, like MasterofDerp mentioned above, you should always try to make your writing as detailed as possible (but avoid repeating stuff through dialogue and then description, it happens a lot!) The best way to do that is to try and imagine the situation you're writing in your head, and think of how everything would happen then write it down and add in the smaller details and stuff. Good luck with your fic! (I might even try checking it out when you start the rewrite) RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - LegendJustice - Jun. 03, 2021 Alright so I was asking for advice on beybade burst Justice RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - BeybladeManiac0 - Jun. 03, 2021 I'm currently writing my own Beyblade fanfic, but I can't think of a good title! I've narrowed it down to a few options, but I can't decide. So in that case, what do you guys think is a good title out of the following: Beyblade Burst: CHASE Beyblade Burst Rush Beyblade Burst Requiem Beyblade Burst Forever Beyblade Burst Explosion RE: Beyblade Fanfics Club/Discussions/Random Thoughts - LegendJustice - Jun. 03, 2021 (Jun. 03, 2021 3:44 AM)BeybladeManiac0 Wrote: I'm currently writing my own Beyblade fanfic, but I can't think of a good title!
