RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - MissingNo. - Jun. 16, 2016 I wouldn't call it ''greatest of all time'' personally, but it definitely really looks super good. Way better than Hyrule Warriors, which was pure garbadge, IMO. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - OwnageDerp - Jun. 16, 2016 Nintendo where's my Cloud and Bayonetta Amiibo you guys announced last December? Other than that, their E3 was pretty good. Even though I wanted to keep Sun/Moon a surprise to me. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Neo - Jun. 16, 2016 I'm... Not excited for the new Zelda game? It doesn't strike me as open world. It strikes me as empty and boring. The art style isn't really complementing that either, as a huge world would look better with more detail, rather than the cell shady sort of thing it has going on. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Mint - Jun. 18, 2016 So we just found a kitten on a rubber of a wheel ( i do not know what it's called) and we decided we would adopt it. is it ideal to just carry the rubber of wheel to the 2nd floor? it's pretty hard to just get him/her out of there. You mean a tire? ![]() Well, if the kitten doesn't want to come out of the tire, I guess it would be best to? Not really sure how to handle the situation, but may be best to. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - ✱ - Jun. 24, 2016 I've been wondering why the name "Spriggan" seemed so strangely familiar when I was learning about burst, and then when I was rooting through my old DVD collection, I found this, which explains my dejavu: [Image: 90CDyLV.jpg] I should get around to watching it... Obviously, everyone has different desires and Zelda is a naturally divisive series. My favourite moments in Zelda have always been about exploring and finding secrets and other "emergent" gameplay (basically, non-scripted gameplay — the rules of the world are constructed, but the moments within it are not). The physics looks fun to play with, I love the constant switching out of weapons and strategies, and I love the art style and how the world's been constructed. It's literally everything I've ever wanted from Zelda. NX Day 1. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Xstarhero - Jun. 25, 2016 Wow Old beys becoming Burst soon!!! Omg I might make a design how it looks soon!!!! R u excited as me!!! RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Jinbee - Jun. 25, 2016 Heh heh, but seriously though, can Nintendo seriously stop with the gimmicks? Why can't they just make a capable system that is as powerful as their competition? While the Wiis motion control sold well, and seemed to work alright for it's time, it's now abandoned and no one really cares about them or do developers really uses them now. The Wii U also seems to reek of experimentation and I don't think either Nintendo or consumers were ready for it, although I blame lack of advertisement for the consumers, because Nintendos weakness is being overly secretive. Yeah the gimmicks can be innovative but third party developers are looking for more powerful hardware rather than just some fancy gimmicks with less power. With a more capable system, it would be able to do so much more with their games. However, seeing the NXtendo is apparently a home console AND portable system, ugh... RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - RDF3 - Jun. 25, 2016 IIRC Nintendo hardly needs third party developers, it's exclusive franchises are extremely large in number. Mario and co. are just one of them. There's also Kirby, Metroid, Legend of Zelda, etc. Nintendo created so many franchises that are so popular it doesn't rely on extrenal third-party distributors entirely. I might be wrong though. Anyways, anyone still play Call of Duty? I feel kinda alienated that Advanced Warfare and Black Ops III had so many guns that do not have real versions. At least Ghosts and Black Ops II have guns that exist in real life, like the AN-94, SVU, ARX-160, Five-Seven, etc. Anyone else feel this way? RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Jinbee - Jun. 25, 2016 Well Nintendo keeps spamming Zelda, Mario and Pokemon in our faces which can only be done so long before people want to see something new or any other intellectual properties that haven't had any games in a while. The new Kid Icarus game, Kid Icarus Uprising and Starfox's new game Starfox Zero I swear was made awkward on purpose so that people wouldn't want them, and go back to their Mario, Zelda and Pokemon. Nintendo is financially going down right now, and making a slightly better 3DS isn't good when it only has six games after two years. As for CoD, it's past it's sell by date, and it's become more of a joke to many gamers, at least from what I've seen. Like think you have ability to use a certain sword (lets call this sword the buster sword for example ![]() Like if I would display this in a video game: you have buster sword/gunblade/keyblade as possible swords each with the abilities to use them 10-15 times each for example Then you have Thundaga/Thundara/Thunder each with the ability to use them 10-15 times for example purposes. Then you have summons. Think Irfit/Bahamut/Shiva. likewise 10-15 times each and like final fantasy 8's battle system you have the ability to use each sword/magic/summon to boost the strength. level of said character, or power your attacks do respectively RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Kai-V - Jun. 25, 2016 Like Final Fantasy XV, no? RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - KingofDarkness0 - Jun. 25, 2016 I think it's more like a combination of the positives of lightning returns/ Kingdom hearts X-chi/ and final fantasy VII/VIII/XV battle systems. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Yami - Jun. 26, 2016 So @[Shirayuki] and I were talking about internet speed and I was checking to see what the fastest internet in Korea. Please America you gotta make America great with "GIGA" internet ;-; RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Mint - Jun. 26, 2016 In my country, even 200 MB/S is 64$ / Month.. As for CoD, it's past it's sell by date, and it's become more of a joke to many gamers, at least from what I've seen. Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon are perennial high-sellers. For Mario, we haven't seen a mainline title in quite sometime, but they are consistently innovative. Zelda is looking to completely overhaul its design structure. And Pokémon ... well, uh, it's popular. I don't hold Game Freak in high regard as a developer. I think they are also coming around to the value of new ideas and IP. Splatoon was a breakout hit on a system that shouldn't even have the install base to support it. As for gimmicks, you're in luck: nothing we've heard about NX appears to be a gimmick. I think saying "it's a handheld and a console" is a bit presumptuous and perhaps missing the truth of it, which is that it's a platform. Like iOS or Android, it's a shared software ecosystem, which solves Nintendo's biggest issue as a software developer: they put out a ton of games, but since their attention is divided between Wii U and 3DS, it seems like they're not delivering enough for either console. I'm honestly really excited to see what Nintendo can do. Both the Wii and the Wii U had some great titles, but obvious shortcomings as consoles. But if Nintendo can successfully combine their penchant for weird ideas and experimentation with a more modern focus on user experience and network connectivity, I think they could deliver something surprisingly great. I'm buying NX day one for Zelda unless it costs a crazy amount, anyway. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Jinbee - Jun. 27, 2016 Nintendo is honestly not doing as well financially, in terms of Mario, I can't say Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D Land are different, they feel rather similar with one being watered down, not sure why they bothered to add different end words on the title. The NX being a handheld and a console could just be a rumour, but knowing Nintendo, they'll try anything new which I would say is good but it's also sacrificing the capability of being a system as powerful as their competition with the Wii and Wii U. They are also too secretive, which is bad, VERY BAD, from what I've heard, they didn't even talk about their NX in E3. I don't want to say Nintendo is failing miserably, they do have really good quality games which need to be churned out more, and if what you said is true for the NX being able to solve that problem, then good, however, since it's not meant to replace the Wii U and 3DS as they claim, wouldn't that lose focus? Plus the DS wasn't meant to replace the Game Boy and... well... To it's credit, the idea to move the new Zelda game to the NX is a good idea as new consoles need a system selling game. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Bey Brad - Jun. 27, 2016 (Jun. 27, 2016 3:12 PM)Jinbee Wrote: Nintendo is honestly not doing as well financially, in terms of Mario, I can't say Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D Land are different, they feel rather similar with one being watered down, not sure why they bothered to add different end words on the title. Super Mario 3D Land sold over 10 million copies. 3D World has sold 4.82 million, which is pretty respectable considering there are only about 11 million Wii U's out there compared to roughly 60 million 3DS-family systems. Also, they have different titles because they're different games. It's also a throwback to Super Mario Land (Game Boy) / Super Mario World (SNES). The sales of Mario games are not really the issue; the problem is that there needs to be a more diverse library of titles to pull people into the platform in the first place. I wouldn't buy an NX for Mario, but I would probably buy Mario if something else had already convinced me to buy NX (like ... Zelda). Quote:The NX being a handheld and a console could just be a rumour, but knowing Nintendo, they'll try anything new which I would say is good but it's also sacrificing the capability of being a system as powerful as their competition with the Wii and Wii U. They are also too secretive, which is bad, VERY BAD, from what I've heard, they didn't even talk about their NX in E3. Keep in mind that Nintendo's situation is very different to when they launched the Wii. They've obviously been burned badly by the Wii U and learned a harsh lesson. Additionally, their previous CEO passed away and was replaced. I think it's presumptuous to say that not showing the NX at E3 was a mistake. They focused solely on Zelda: BOTW, which turned out to be a massive success, winning Game of the Show from many outlets and having day-long lineups to play that were completely full within fifteen minutes. Likely, they didn't show NX because they're not ready to show it. I don't think secrecy is the issue. Better to wait until it's ready, because Nintendo only has one shot at making a great first impression — something they really need to accomplish. Nintendo doesn't have the capability to keep up with Sony and Microsoft, nor should they. While the NX will probably compare well to the PS4 and Xbox One, the upcoming PS4 Neo and Xbox Scorpio will handily outperform it. Nintendo isn't a tech company and they don't have the hardware resources that its competitors have. They are wise to focus on the value proposition of a unified platform on an affordable console. Quote:I don't want to say Nintendo is failing miserably, they do have really good quality games which need to be churned out more, and if what you said is true for the NX being able to solve that problem, then good, however, since it's not meant to replace the Wii U and 3DS as they claim, wouldn't that lose focus? Plus the DS wasn't meant to replace the Game Boy and... well... Of course it is meant to replace the Wii U and 3DS. I think what you saw happen with the DS Vs. GBA is a great example. My pipe-dream for NX is a Netflix-like subscription service to the entire Virtual Console library. RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Jinbee - Jun. 27, 2016 Actually, they claimed the NX wasn't going to replace the Wii U which is a load of rubbish. I worded my Mario part wrong, I wasn't meant to say it was bad in sales but rather the games SM3D Land and SM3D World felt almost the same is what I was getting at. |
