RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Mar. 06, 2014 You can learn about the formats here: http://worldbeyblade.org/eventguide.pdf and you can use Challonge.com to create a Bracket. I suppose I need to man up and get this done. Saving precious lives can wait. Hahaha, pretty much the same thing for me. With everything else going on, I completely forgot about it until Kai-V brought it up. I'll get my vote in soon. RE: Questions about the WBO - mr.cool - Mar. 07, 2014 Dus this mean we can't bet on points before a battle? Betting anything anywhere is generally discouraged, hah. You do battle for points though, unless you are in an HMS or plastic tournament, if that is what you meant. RE: Questions about the WBO - mr.cool - Mar. 07, 2014 Hey Kai-v can you give me some suggestions for a team? I'm not on one yet Teams really don't effect much, some teams are for local regions, some our world-wide. Most people just join teams for the sake of joining one, but some teams have meet-ups and such. ![]() RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Mar. 12, 2014 What is up with *Ginga*'s current user title ? It goes past his avatar... RE: Questions about the WBO - *Ginga* - Mar. 12, 2014 I'm just cool that way. ![]() RE: Questions about the WBO - th!nk - Mar. 12, 2014 Could you not though? Makes it annoying to read stuff you post, and it looks bad. Like, I didn't say anything directly about some other recent avatar trends too much but uh yeah, this one bugs me. Grouchy I know but still, ew. Do wonder if there isn't a way to limit the area text in that box can occupy though, that would be a good thing, though there are more important things to focus on right now I guess. RE: Questions about the WBO - Cake - Mar. 12, 2014 There used to be a limit to the number of user title characters you could have... my current title (which I will probably be changing soon as it no longer really applies since I've been back for a while) had to be reworded about a half-dozen times to get it to fit. RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Mar. 12, 2014 There is definitely a character limit and I would have no idea why or how it was removed if it is not still the case. I believe the limit was twenty-three characters. It just depends if you use only big letters like M or skinnier letters like l. RE: Questions about the WBO - th!nk - Mar. 12, 2014 The character limit is still there, I can say that for sure - it's why my current usertitle is not pluralised. Still, curious as to whether something in the site's css could be changed to cut the text off where the space for it ends. Will ask some of my web designer friends I guess. RE: Questions about the WBO - th!nk - Mar. 12, 2014 Something just came to mind as a result of a question over in Limited Q&A, IMO worth double posting on as it's a pretty important ruling thing: We were recently discussing the legality of swapping parts of F230 with other colors etc, with a general verdict that this was illegal (which I didn't agree with). While there are screws involved in this, Takara have previously used Triwing Screws, on F: D and F: S for example, which are generally used when a manufacturer doesn't want a part disassembled. Still, the reason seemed to be that they perform differently or whatever? I'm just curious about how this fits with the current ruling on the Core of L-Drago Destroy, L-Drago Guardian, L-Drago Destructor (Metal Fury), L-Drago Guardian (Metal Fury), and L-Drago Destructor (Hyperblade), which is considered a single piece through all of their releases thus interchangeable, despite the Takara version only being labelled as part of L-Drago Guardian or L-Drago Destroy, never as a separate subcomponent like Meteo or Lightning were. There appear to be weight differences between the Hasbro and Takara Versions (maybe just a matter of the plastic used, à la their BD145's) and there's the well known rubber consistency difference between the two known Takara versions. I did mention at the time that R145 also has different rubber consistencies and questioned whether it was okay to swap those (no screws involved) but don't think I got a response. There are also the ED145's hasbro produced that apparently spin much more freely - the parts of which could be swapped with regular ones. Same subcomponent, different performance. Then there's UW145 and SW145, which share a core piece - is this swappable? They are again different parts with an identical subcomponent and in this case, no performance difference. I got the impression during the discussion that this was not the case, but that could have just been an assumption. As such, I think we need to clarify what is/isn't swappable. I generally get the feeling from the rulings that it's something like "identically molded subcomponents are fine unless it's held together with screws" but that's not really what was described. No swapping at all, aside from being rather harsh in the case of subcomponent breakage (w/ regards to F230, I mentioned that in the case of track threading breakages, that one subcomponent could be replaced with one from any other F230 without performance consequence, which is IMO a good thing to let people do, even though "being snapped in half by attack types", the leading cause of F230 Failure from what I've heard isn't covered by this), and in many cases hard to police (even with F230, the similar shades of the two different orange ones in particular would be hard to spot certain swaps, such as the shaft piece), clashes with our stance on the 4D Era L-Drago's. So uh yeah, clarification etc? RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Mar. 12, 2014 I did want to verify in everything I can think of for a rule by TAKARA-TOMY against disassembling of parts. Remind me once in a while. RE: Questions about the WBO - Wombat - Mar. 13, 2014 Well, this kind of has to do with what I asked a while back: (Jan. 20, 2014 2:57 AM)Wombat Wrote:(Jan. 20, 2014 2:43 AM)MidnightLWBO Wrote:Yes, but no one was lubricating their Variares or altering the insides of it in any way, they were taking it apart to see how its inner mechanism worked. However, that still made it illegal, so why isn't this the case with F230?(Jan. 20, 2014 2:41 AM)Wombat Wrote: So at a tournament I just went to, a few people mentioned how they "clean" their F230 by opening it up and rinsing out residue. Wouldn't dismantling the part render it illegal,Nope, as long as it's not lubricating the track (Jan. 20, 2014 3:12 AM)Kai-V Wrote: It was illegal mostly because we could not be certain that the person would necessarily put everything back in place as it was before, but apparently, since the time of VariAres' release, some operations have seemingly proven to be foolproof ... So I didn't really get a direct answer for why dismantling F230 was legal, but dismantling Variares, F ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() th!nk Wrote:We were recently discussing the legality of swapping parts of F230 with other colors etc, with a general verdict that this was illegal (which I didn't agree with). It has never been illegal to accidentally or involuntarily put water in or on your Beyblade. The rule should be understood as "introducing any lasting foreign substance". RE: Questions about the WBO - th!nk - Mar. 13, 2014 Variares uses regular cross-head screws. Only F: D, F: S and X: D, to my knowledge, use triangular screws (speaking of which, I was wrong to use triwing - those have three lines, rather than an actual triangle). My guess is that this is to prevent alterations to their clutch mechanisms that mightn't be immediately noticeable or something, though that doesn't really apply to X: D. B: D's screws are phillips heads but very difficult to access as I'm pretty sure the tip is attached after the two halves of the body are screwed together), and D: D's are normal and easily accessible. But yeah Triangular screws are standard for "you're not supposed to access this, consumer", for electronics and children's toys, and only those three parts use them (I think I own all of the parts that have screws, anyway). RE: Questions about the WBO - OwnageDerp - Mar. 14, 2014 Has there ever been a time where this website led some pages to viruses? Or attacked by hackers? No to both questions. Beholder's old website Beyblade Damashii had been hacked though, but that is the only instance I remember for the whole Beyblade community. Perhaps Off the Chain too, but that is vague. RE: Questions about the WBO - th!nk - Mar. 15, 2014 Our lack of advertisements and unnecessary bells and whistles makes the WBO a lot safer than most sites/forums from the first thing. As for the second, despite the concerns of the immortal firedragons1: firedragons1 Wrote: ok ,kai-v youre thinking none of your friends are hackers ,haWe've not had any trouble with that, from unknown sources or hacker friends alike. EDIT: NVM, you have to see the persons beypoints on their profile then search the beypoint system. It can take a while tho, wish there was an easier way... RE: Questions about the WBO - th!nk - Mar. 17, 2014 Putting Beyrank in Profiles was suggested not long ago, but at the moment I imagine more important things are being focussed on. RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Mar. 17, 2014 I actually tried including it on my own, but it never worked. I would have to ask our programmer, but I just asked him something more important.
