RE: Beyblade Videos - SUGOI-KONICHEWA - Aug. 15, 2016 RE: Beyblade Videos - Jimmyjazz39 - Aug. 15, 2016 RE: Beyblade Videos - Real_ilinnuc - Aug. 16, 2016 RE: Beyblade Videos - originalzankye - Aug. 16, 2016 Jake, we would really appreciate before you make your videos on posts that we made for the community on the WBO, kindly ask permission if we mind or not, just a question of courtesy. This is already the second time that you make videos based in our posts, before you did with pricing. By the way your video title is very misleading because Hasbro never said or confirmed that Beyblade Burst was to be launched ever launched in August , the word "OFFICIALLY" = ZANKYE because in reality the source that got this info was us showing to community what’s happening with burst, this isn't Hasbro publicly stating that burst would be delayed. You need to stop taking the info that we post out of context and making these "update" videos that aren't true. Thanks for your understanding RE: Beyblade Videos - SUGOI-KONICHEWA - Aug. 16, 2016 What about the video i made on the post you made about the hasbro release prices? Here's the video http://youtu.be/X43KisOFxbM RE: Beyblade Videos - originalzankye - Aug. 16, 2016 When YOU Enderblader asked us, we told you that didn't deserve a video, but you still did it.... Yeah sorry heh but was that still ok? RE: Beyblade Videos - originalzankye - Aug. 16, 2016 well we didn't like to be honest with you but we didn't say anything, but now we see that "everybody" is taking advantage on our research and do videos . When we post any info in here is too help the community, maybe is better not post anything at all, so everybody can keep speculating.... Oh sorry I won't do it again I'll just read your posts and stay happy RE: Beyblade Videos - Exotics King - Aug. 16, 2016 RE: Beyblade Videos - ~Mana~ - Aug. 16, 2016 (Aug. 16, 2016 2:08 AM)originalzankye Wrote: well we didn't like to be honest with you but we didn't say anything, but now we see that "everybody" is taking advantage on our research and do videos . You post the information here, and you absolutely do not have claim on the information either. It is public information anyway. Furthermore, Hato pointed out the trademarks first, and it was mentioned back then that they were still open for being challenged. If we're playing that game; people shouldn't use Kai-V's information about releases for any purposes. Perhaps she shouldn't post the information, and just let people speculate on it up until the release date. Similarly, perhaps I shouldn't have shared a list of names from the Beyblade Burst app when it came out, and you guys shouldn't have used it as reference during your gameplay video on the app. I wouldn't want that to be the case; I'd rather the information was out there and available for everyone. I just don't see the issue here. If you want to keep information to yourself and post your own video on it, go ahead, that's your call. But you have no ownership over the information and, even after you post a video with it, people can still take it and say "Zankye reported this". Such is the life of journalism and news reporting; people reporting information available to them, including from rival sources. The only issue I can see really is Ilinnuc's use of "officially" delayed, which is definitely misleading and gives the wrong impression, especially if it's sourced to the Zankye name. That's an issue, and there's zero confirmation or official word on a delay or anything right now. To that respect, I agree with that as an issue, but I really don't agree with your other point. Sorry! RE: Beyblade Videos - Exotics King - Aug. 16, 2016 (Aug. 16, 2016 2:08 AM)originalzankye Wrote: well we didn't like to be honest with you but we didn't say anything, but now we see that "everybody" is taking advantage on our research and do videos . Its probably not my place to say this but if you don't want people taking your ideas or speculations and using them in videos then you really shouldn't post them on here. Btw not trying to start anything just giving my input.[/size] RE: Beyblade Videos - originalzankye - Aug. 16, 2016 Mana , we don't own any information that is public of course, what Real Illinnuc should had done was asking "Do you guys mind if I make a video about your post?" and for sure we wouldn't mind. Two weeks ago again we went on Toys r us and found out about the Canadian Prices plus the name of the stadium and post it in here for all the community, what Real Illinnuc did again the same thing. It's just a principle to be polite , nothing else.... RE: Beyblade Videos - ~Mana~ - Aug. 16, 2016 But Ilinnuc did source Zankye. It's not about asking "can I post this information?". You don't own it; it's online. You've shared it with a community, and you aren't even technically the source either here; the source is official trademark documents that have been published online. You lay claim to bringing awareness of it, but nothing more and, as far as I'm concerned, Ilinnuc has given the courtesy to you by mentioning you in his video. That's advertisement for you there. Most I can say is what Exotics has said above; if it bothers you that much that information you share with a Forum community is being used for videos, it's probably best not to share it. It's a shame to say that because we're all friendly and we all share information with each other on the WBO. I'm still not sure what the issue is really, but I would hope it's not fear of competition honestly. Ilinnuc has shown the decency to reference (and in turn promote) Zankye on his channel with this. He hasn't been nasty about it; it's friendly, and it's expected within this collaborative community as well. I'm sorry if I sound horrible when echoing all this, but it's certainly an opinion that I'm sure a lot of people agree with as well, and I do feel it needs to be said, haha. RE: Beyblade Videos - LOL-y Rancher - Aug. 16, 2016 I... actually agree with both ~Mana~ and ExoticsKing here. Zankye, you claim that you don't mind info being shared but yet you complained when someone shared it (whilst crediting you as well which brings attention to you too). In my eyes, illinuc seemed rather polite when asking for information. He wasn't "taking advantage of you" for your research, he was simply sharing it (whilst giving you credit) so at least then people can be updated with new Burst info whilst also giving you attention for finding this info (or like ~Mana~ said, more advertisement for you). RE: Beyblade Videos - Kai-V - Aug. 16, 2016 From my perspective, I completely understand Zankye, actually. Even if you credit the person who found it, absolutely nobody will bother going to the website/channel/etc. that you mentioned because instead, you just gave them the news right there in your video/post/site; they have no interest in going to the source anymore. I count it as zero advertisement actually. The readers or viewers also will never come and thank the first person either. That is why I always find it more respectable to be sharing a link instead of the actual content. But hey, everybody litterally steals the rug from under my feet these days as if I had not been doing a good job before, so values change, it seems. It is a savage jungle, no side of the bedsheet is safe. RE: Beyblade Videos - Cake - Aug. 16, 2016 The issue is that by posting information publicly, you forfeit any control over how that information is used. Because Zankye put in the work to go through the original documents to find the names, he's earned some credit in any subsequent works that make use of that research. But nether Zankye nor anyone else who posts information - particularly in a community which prides itself on free distribution of data - has any say on how that information is used by others. ilinnuc linked to Zankye's post and mentioned his name in the video, crediting him for the research; beyond that, it's ilinnuc's choice as to how to interpret (or misinterpret, depending on your opinion) as he pleases. RE: Beyblade Videos - Neo - Aug. 16, 2016 People are entitled to making videos about whatever they want on YouTube, regardless of if it helps or not. No one here owns Beyblade, so we shouldn't get mad over public info. Once it's on the internet, in the public, you can be sourced. Even if you aren't, you still don't OWN Beyblade. tl;dr You can't control what videos people make. That is not your decision. RE: Beyblade Videos - ThaKingTai - Aug. 16, 2016 My main problem with this whole issue is the fact that this really shouldn't be a problem. Information isn't owned by anyone once it is put out there, whether by speech, video, or just the internet's entirety. People will, of course, thank you for your hard work and a person should be credited for finding the information, but besides that, that should be it. Information is not , for the most part, an intellectual property. No person can really "own" information. So we thank you for sharing the information zankye, but remember this is all about making the Beyblade community better as a whole, right? So let's share the information with the entire community and not try to lay claim for this. RE: Beyblade Videos - Exotics King - Aug. 16, 2016 (Aug. 16, 2016 5:00 AM)Neo Wrote: People are entitled to making videos about whatever they want on YouTube, regardless of if it helps or not. Thank you! I couldn't put it any better my self! RE: Beyblade Videos - Jinbee - Aug. 16, 2016 I think the community is better when it works together to make the game more popular or improved in a way, rather than make it a competition for ad revenue. We are thankful you gave us the info Zankye, and the rest of my points have probably already been said and said better. RE: Beyblade Videos - Bey Brad - Aug. 16, 2016 My only opinion on the matter is: cite your sources. If you do that, you're A-OK in my book. I can understand the frustration of people being upset when their breaking news is repeated elsewhere, but it's also something that's typical and inevitable. If you don't want your info to spread, the only thing you can do is let someone else break it (because they will). I'm pretty grateful for everyone who makes the WBO the first place they post information they discover or ideas they have about Beyblade. That's what's always made this site a great place to be. RE: Beyblade Videos - LOL-y Rancher - Aug. 16, 2016 (Aug. 16, 2016 5:11 AM)Bey Brad Wrote: My only opinion on the matter is: cite your sources. If you do that, you're A-OK in my book. You do have a good point there when it comes to citing sources as it shows consideration and I do agree that new info does tend to repeat everywhere as it will bring more light and attention to the new found info. RE: Beyblade Videos - MattForce - Aug. 16, 2016 Y'all need to calm down with this. Information is information. Same with Pokemon(sorry I had to.) If you get information from Serebii.net, you credit it. You're not gonna wait to get permission from them because they are already reputable and they already are a trustworthy source of information that people usually use. RE: Beyblade Videos - Neo - Aug. 16, 2016 The thing about citing your sources; Usually people do. But along the way, people do end up just reporting it without a cited source. That's just news. At least on a YouTube video. You still can't get mad over something you don't own. Sure you discovered it, but that still doesn't mean you own something. This doesn't even have to be called Fair Use. Its just public info. I could make a breaking news video on someone's "Ryuga is the best beyblade" post. But that's just the internet. The sooner you realize what you post isn't yours, at least in a public space like a forum, the better. We're here to help each other. I imagine illinuc probably has a lot of subscribers who don't even know about the WBO or Zankye. So honestly; what's wrong with getting more people to prepare to enter this international release? I see no issue. |
