RE: Last movie you watched - TheGigsMeister - Jun. 22, 2008 Lol, last movie i watched was Speed Racer I bludy loved it!!!! From watching the trailers, i thought it looked childish and corny. Well i say now, the trailer did not do this film justice! I give it a 8.5/10! Then again, im 14, so im not really sure about how audiences over my age would take it. But i thought it was really funny and the races were action packed =) RE: Last movie you watched - Roan - Jun. 23, 2008 I just finished watching Blade Runner. Wow, I cannot believe I've never seen this before. In other words, it was awesome. My only real complaint would have to be with the ending. I didn't quite understand it. (I watched the "Final Cut" version of the movie, which has a different ending than the original.) I need to watch the original theatrical cut now to see how the endings differ. I'll get back to you on that. lol But yeah, suffice it to say that this is one of my favorite movies. RE: Last movie you watched - Maz - Jun. 28, 2008 Saw the Hulk yesterday Realy good movie RE: Last movie you watched - AnnieDuck - Jun. 28, 2008 Just saw SaTC. Brad if you do some stupid carp like leave me at the altar my family will most definitely hunt you down and kill you. Dante's carp was A+ RE: Last movie you watched - Roan - Jun. 29, 2008 Just finished watching Casino Royale. A++++++++++++++++ I will definitely be watching this again. Daniel Craig... *Lick* RE: Last movie you watched - AnnieDuck - Jun. 29, 2008 His carp is so good. RE: Last movie you watched - Roan - Jun. 29, 2008 AnnieDuck Wrote:His carp is so good. Maybe its one of those situations where you hear too much about something and get your hopes up so high the real thing couldn't possibly satisfy you, but I thought so many things were said about that the movie that were either blatantly untrue or wrong from a more technical standpoint. The animation was good, as always, but I've heard so much about how this latest movie surpasses all of pixar's previous works by volumes and it just doesn't. The reason the animation seems so incredible is because the characters are so inhuman. Thanks to a little principle called uncanny valley, Pixar's more human animated characters (Shrek and the like) will never look anywhere as good as these characters do. Its not a technological achievement by any means; this is especially apparent while watching the human characters in the movie (They look terrible in contrast). The story upped its game from the typical Pixar fare but the emotional climax fell short and without spoiling anything, the fix was kind of nonsensical and would leave, I think, younger viewers confused. Few other things: There was a lot of potential to be had in a movie with less or no dialog and the introduction of ugly, boring humans didn't help it in any way. The director made a big deal about the camera work, which is some shots was spectacular (brief shopping mall scene on earth) and in others merely passable; I guess I'm saying, I don't think its worth bragging over or nothing. Still, the interaction between the two robots was cute, and its worth seeing if only for that. It probably would make a good date movie. ![]() RE: Last movie you watched - G - Jun. 30, 2008 I saw WALL-E too, but like the only thing I didn't like was how it was used to point out some of society's problems... maybe it was just me and I was just over thinking it, but that just popped up in mind right away when I was watching it. RE: Last movie you watched - Roan - Jun. 30, 2008 Marin Wrote:Thanks to a little principle called uncanny valley, Pixar's more human animated characters (Shrek and the like) Shrek isn't a Pixar film dude. lol RE: Last movie you watched - Marin - Jul. 02, 2008 G Wrote:the only thing I didn't like was how it was used to point out some of society's problems Oh man, I forgot to say, hated that too. I mean, its not like you can expect much more from a family movie or anything, but the environmental theme and clear bias was really annoying. Roan Wrote:Shrek isn't a Pixar film True say, found that out yesterday. Whatever; Point still stands with stuff like Ratatouille. RE: Last movie you watched - Bey Brad - Jul. 02, 2008 Battle Royale, it sucked compared to the book. RE: Last movie you watched - djspida5 - Jul. 02, 2008 15 minutes of wanted which was amazing then the theater had technical difficulties and we got refunds! RE: Last movie you watched - Guitar_Legend - Jul. 02, 2008 Bey Brad Wrote:Battle Royale, it sucked compared to the book. i loved that movie..when i was in grade 8. RE: Last movie you watched - G - Jul. 03, 2008 Bey Brad Wrote:Battle Royale, it sucked compared to the book. I know! I saw the movie first and thought it was pretty bad carp until I read the novel which gave a ton more info and built the characters up. The second movie isn't that great either. RE: Last movie you watched - Rail - Jul. 03, 2008 The last movie I watched...I think it was The Last Samurai RE: Last movie you watched - Bey Brad - Jul. 03, 2008 G Wrote:Bey Brad Wrote:Battle Royale, it sucked compared to the book. Second movie? Do elaborate. RE: Last movie you watched - G - Jul. 03, 2008 Bey Brad Wrote:It like takes place a couple of years after that 3rd year class's BR and like Shuya assembles a group called the 'Wild Seven' (same stuff Shogo smoked). The government is still crazy and makes a new program where they're still sent to a remote island, but they try to get Shuya instead of killing each other. If you didn't really like the movie, then I don't think you'll really like this one.G Wrote:Bey Brad Wrote:Battle Royale, it sucked compared to the book. RE: Last movie you watched - Kei - Jul. 06, 2008 Futurama: Bender's Big Score Very funny, too many moments to name haha RE: Last movie you watched - To - Jul. 06, 2008 Watched Hancock last night. There are "lol" moments, but boy, did the theathre shut the heck up when then it started being serious. And I liked it. It's another "Turn your Brain-off" kind of movie, but it is good, not good enough to get more than an "meh" from me however. And Kei, you reminded me, once I get home I should pick up a copy of Beast With a Thousand Backs.
