RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - To - May. 15, 2012

Return would imply there was an iteration on PS3, and unless I missed something...

I completely agree. What's worse is fans of the series have to buy every modern console in existence(except Xbox) to play the games. I think its time to return to the PS3.

In a recent interview, it was revealed that the lead designers feel "it is time for Kingdom Hearts to return to consoles" after the upcoming 3DS game. They have also commented on the potential for an HD re-imagining/remake of the early games.

However, if anyone is genuinely having trouble following the story, I'd rather folks just look things up on a wiki, so the developers can continue releasing new content. The original PS2 games in the series still hold up to any modern title, and in my eyes, a reboot would be superfluous at best.

Reboots are for flawed concepts, and the story of KH, while convoluted, is still pretty solid. If you want a simple story, play Final Fantasy.

So, it was revealed not too long ago, by producer Hideo Baba, that the next Tales Of game's theme is 'How you prepared to destroy the world for the sake of a girl?'

Naturally, this kinda loses its impact on the female fanbase, but this is surprisingly interesting. Are we really gonna have to choose between a girl and the world, in this game? That seems pretty hardcore, especially for a Tales game.

Would you guys destroy the world for the sake of a girl? Kinda pointless if there's no world to interact with...

Today, Dynasty Warriors:Gundam 3 taught me that a game doesn't have to have good reviews to be a fun game, especially if you are a fanboy.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - To - May. 20, 2012

I'm pretty sure western outlets trash anything with the words "Dynasty Warriors" on it. If that gameplay is for you, then it's for you. Some people just don't care for a non-extreme hack and slash title.

LOL. I just returned that game to get a gameboy advanced SP. I only made it to level 2....

Between all of the DW: Gundam games I have about 250 hours clocked.

Turn brain off, pick robot, stress-relief city.

The hero will pick the girl and save the world, or pick the girl, who will reject his ideals and sacrifice herself to save the world anyway. Or, a new world will be created for him and his lovely or whatever. It's a Tales game - a series known for enforcing the idea that a lot of cutscenes and talking really doesn't make your plot any more significant than the average action movie. Most plots in Tales games(especially recent ones) turn out to be pretty heinous, in fact.

I just got Minecraft, UFC 3, and Prototype 2 all for Xbox 360! Soooo fun for each of them.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - LeonTempest - Jun. 01, 2012

I have been looking up a bunch of Pokemon game trivia I ha no idea about until now...

I think its almost time for me to start playing thsee games again...when I have more time anyway

I am a terrible person; I have owned Skyrim and Skyward Sword for months, and have barley played either game...

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Raigeko13 - Jun. 01, 2012

Haha, same here Leon.

Well I played the hell out of Skyrim.
Until my friend deleted my damn save file.
I have zero enthusiasm to play it again. ;(

Skyward Sword... I played for like a week then really got into OoT 3DS. After that it just sat on the shelf. Once I finish Assassins Creed (so fun omg) I'll try to get back onto the Wii and play it again.
I like cutting trees.
Because it's fun.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Hazel - Jun. 01, 2012

Skyrim tempted me, for a time, until I realized the hideous case of Decision Paralysis I'd have before even getting 20 minutes into the game: when presented with too many things to do, I choose to do nothing.

Skyward Sword never appealed to me as anything but eye candy - I love how the game looks, and the items in it are super neat, but their "accurate wiimote fighting" nonsense was a garbage idea that played like garbage and frustrated far more people than it helped. Traditional controlschemes cannot make a comeback soon enough.

I'm mostly just excited for LEGO Batman 2 this month, haha.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Shabalabadoo - Jun. 01, 2012

Haha, Skyward Sword is terrible homies. So much carp in there that doesn't even need to be there and the whole game is just so stale. Definitely one of my least favourite Zelda games.

It's a simple formula, but it works so well.

Hilarious to see the guy who was berrating me with GIVE IT A CHANCE GIVE IT A CHANCE one eighty on it, lol.

I couldn't have justified the cost of it even if it hadn't been so tediously drawn out in every regard. One of the most criminal aspects of it, really, was that it put too much focus on swordplay and whatever, and nowhere near enough polish on what Zelda games are known and usually purchased for: puzzles, exploration, and boss fights that require many things other than wiggling around like Richard Simmons in a suit full of eels.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Shabalabadoo - Jun. 02, 2012

Haha! I know I know! First time, it wasn't my favourite game, but I didn't dislike it, second time, it became more clear.

Being a Zelda fan took over me, haha.

Playing Wind Waker again I realize that I hate that game too. More useless poop.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Hazel - Jun. 02, 2012

The game is just really pretty, in regards to SS - it's easy to understand why a Zelda fan would be enamored regardless of the reality, at first glimpse. Honeymoon syndrome applies just as much to video games!

I never liked WW, at all. I also didn't like link becoming that cartoony... I think a middle ground between toon link and OoT Link, basically like his Oracle of Ages/Seasons appearance, would be best.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - LeonTempest - Jun. 02, 2012

Now now, Skyward Sword is definatly in the Top 10 Wii games of all time...

...granted, the 9 games that are betterthan it dont even need motion control, and everything else after 10 sucks...

If Wii U does not have a Super Smash Bros game, you can count me out. I am going to college in a year, and I have a Gamecube, Wii, and Xbox. Spending $250 on a system that might(?) be better is not something I feel like betting on.

Plus, if there are Pokemon based characters from Black and White, I will burn the damn thing

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Shabalabadoo - Jun. 02, 2012

Haha, LeonTempestXIII, you just said you've barely played it!

Trust me man, it ain't as good as other Zelda fans that like it because it's Zelda say. Really just a lot of nothing.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Hazel - Jun. 02, 2012

Correction: it is a lot of waving your arms around to do nothing.

Dude, To, you're scaring me, now...

Okay, that's not so bad. Xillia is actually a pretty good game and a sequel would be nice, but... H-How did you predict that?! Oo

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Hazel - Jun. 02, 2012

Namco is not exactly an enigma.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Dude - Jun. 02, 2012

Agreed, but... Xillia 2? That's not exactly what I expected...

Guess we'll see how that'll turn out Uncertain

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - To - Jun. 03, 2012

Maybe I'm from the future.

Who knows.

Spot on man. I finished it a few months ago and I loved almost everything about the game, but the controls screwed it for me. I mean, I liked the idea behind some of the motions, but it didn't play properly, at least for me. Maybe I was too close to the tv, my rooms a bit small; the reticule was always getting messed up too, you need to reset the thing very often...

Also miss the 2D Zelda games on handhelds, liked them a lot more over the PH/ST style.

I have to wonder why IGN and the like praise the game so highly then...everywhere I look the game recieves great reviews by proffessional game reviewers, but the players (both Zelda fans and not) seem to have mixed feelings. I mean, compare it to the other Wii games that incoperate motion control; this game is probably the best in that sense no? It does have flaws, but it is a wii game guys...

The Wii isnt a bad system. It was the 1st to use wireless motion control. But tthe direction Nintendo took it in and the lack of innovation afterwords has rendered the system to be a joke...
