RE: Make your suggestions! - Kai-V - Aug. 28, 2011 Why do you constantly not give me examples of those tips like I asked you ... RE: Make your suggestions! - Temporal - Aug. 28, 2011 Maybe what types of beyblades to avoid (i.e. Flame Libra, Legend Torch Aries, etc...) and a list of the images of those fake stadiums that have been getting sold off on eBay? RE: Make your suggestions! - th!nk - Aug. 28, 2011 An FAQ might help, but I doubt it'd make a significant difference, as anyone asking a common question was already too lazy to search for it... RE: Make your suggestions! - Temporal - Aug. 28, 2011 Which is why it likely won't work. But it will help for people who refuse to search, we can direct them there. RE: Make your suggestions! - darkbull9999 - Aug. 28, 2011 It will help them and even any new users who want tips . RE: Make your suggestions! - th!nk - Aug. 28, 2011 The welcome PM directs them to all of that, but very few bother to read it. RE: Make your suggestions! - Deikailo - Aug. 29, 2011 I know I've suggested it in the past, but seriously, I think it needs to be done: A smart phone app should be made for looking up usernames and using that list to generate tournament brackets. It could automatically default to the appropriate format according to whatever number of particpants that event receives and when the tournament is finished, you can have the option to upload them to the committee or email them off to the who contact email. It would make life infinitely easier for hosts and it would take less effort to explain brackets. It would be more like "here, download this and your life will be easier," The same can also be done with our rulebook. RE: Make your suggestions! - LeonTempest - Aug. 29, 2011 (Aug. 25, 2011 11:17 PM)LeonTempestXIII Wrote: Another suggestion, and this doesnt even involve coding or anything difficult. I would still like both of these to be considered please Deikailo: That would be a very nice thing to have. Perhaps the app could display news posts as well. No actual posting would be done, but it would ne nice to see scheduels, events, and updates regarding the site. Almost like a twitter feed, but not. RE: Make your suggestions! - Deikailo - Aug. 29, 2011 It would also be good advertising for people who look up "Beyblade" in their app store/marketplace. They see it, download it, and suddenly they know about the WBO and how awesome we are. RE: Make your suggestions! - LeonTempest - Aug. 30, 2011 No beyblade fan can resist a good advertising plug! 0_o It would probobly have to be free though...other than blader passport's, we aren't exactly a for profit organization. RE: Make your suggestions! - Shabalabadoo - Aug. 30, 2011 It wouldn't be free to have an App, there would be constant fees that the WBO would have to pay. Plus if it were to be on multiple stores (blackberry, iPhone, etc. I don't know if the general category of App stores has a name) it'd be more money. Although if you you have a smartphone, can't you just go on the Internet and get to this website? I'm always on an iPad, ipod touch, etc. and it's a really simple website to navigate on small devices. Edit: I don't know how much money though RE: Make your suggestions! - LeonTempest - Aug. 30, 2011 In all honesty, paying for such info would be poitless, you could just go on the site on the internet and get it anyway. Free would be the only way to go RE: Make your suggestions! - Shabalabadoo - Aug. 30, 2011 No, I mean that even if it was a free app, the WBO would have to routinely pay fees to have it on the App store. RE: Make your suggestions! - Deikailo - Aug. 30, 2011 Then you can just make the app downloadable from the WBO website and completely skip the app store. The WBO would just have to pay to have it developed. Unless, again, we can have the app sponsored where the app features ads for Beyblade distributors within it. I.E. Release date for Death Quetz is _______ - preorder {here}! Or just a small image off to the side or something. RE: Make your suggestions! - LeonTempest - Aug. 30, 2011 Exactly. This would be an app only WBO users would use, it would serve no purpose in the hands of someone who doesn't visit the site. Of course, you wouldn't need to be a memeber or even log into your account to use the app, but an optional feature should be the ability to connect your app to your account. Basicly, the entire app would be a feed of all of the important struff, without the hasel of an actual forum. Also, beywiki would have to be incoperated in there too, like when a new article is posted or something. You can make tabs, so there should be 2 tabs: one for the WBO, and one for Beywiki. To make beywiki easier, you could make a mobile version so you can almost have a pocket beyblade guide-how cool would that be? A long time back, before I was even a big poster, really, I got permission to make such an app. I completely forgot about, but maybe I should try, now that my brother can help me (He's really good with computers!)... RE: Make your suggestions! - Shabalabadoo - Aug. 30, 2011 Is that even possible though? For legal reasons, say we wanted an iPod/pad/phone app, would we be legally allowed to have it without it being on their store? I don't think so? RE: Make your suggestions! - Deikailo - Aug. 31, 2011 (Aug. 30, 2011 11:16 PM)Shabalabadoo Wrote: Is that even possible though?Um, yeah, it is. That's how I got PSX4Droid on my phone along with a ton of other apps. You have it posted in the store so people can see it and downloading it. It would actually be against the first amendment for them to forbid the use of an app we created on devices that we own. You can simply call that "art" and then along with this being a non-profit site, there is nothing they can possibly do. In this instance, there is no additional services that Apple or Android can provide for us other than their store/marketplace, which we would be avoiding entirely if there are fees associated with it. RE: Make your suggestions! - Flaming Aries - Sep. 02, 2011 maybe allow us to make the order we would like to organize our faces in stead of being all over the place. RE: Make your suggestions! - Kai-V - Sep. 02, 2011 They can only be arranged chronologically. RE: Make your suggestions! - KidTala - Sep. 02, 2011 To the subject about the mobile App, if the WBO really wanted a App and it will cost us a little, wouldn't the community give some money just to keep the App running if it happened? RE: Make your suggestions! - LeonTempest - Sep. 02, 2011 Alot of that could be covered by Plader Passports. Let's assume that out of 50,000 members, 30% of those people own passports. That would mean 15,000 people own a passport. Let's also assume that all passport holders got thier passports on the same day. 15,000 users X $10USD per person is $150,000 for the WBO annualy. Of course, I do not know the exact numbers, and the money the WBO recieves would be over periods of time, and not all at once like in this example, but you get the idea. Unless my numbers are way off, the WBO doesn't need additional sources of income RE: Make your suggestions! - Shabalabadoo - Sep. 02, 2011 Out of the 52, 000 members we have, only 27% have even posted, so it's definitely a way smaller number. But there's money from tournaments too. And donations (but it poprobably isn't much compared to the other 2) |
