RE: Make your suggestions! - Blitz Unicorno - Aug. 24, 2011

Everyone would keep liking and disliking posts unnecessarily.
Rep feature too would be bad since some people will give positive rep and some will give negative rep for no reason.

....and why would this be bad? It's a much better alternative than the one-liners like "cool", "thanks" etc.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Medz - Aug. 24, 2011

Most rep features only allow you to give out rep a certain amount of times a day or only if you already have a certain amount of rep.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Kai-V - Aug. 24, 2011

I had already posted months ago that we already had both a "Like" plugin, we probably tried more than one, and we had a "Reputation" plugin that was attempted twice, and therefore there is a reason those disappeared from the site already.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Medz - Aug. 24, 2011

If It was removed because of people spamming it, add limits or make it so moderators have to approve the rep going through.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Kai-V - Aug. 24, 2011

We already have a lot of job with just moderating posts and people in general ...

Plus, I think it was not just SPAMming of it that was the real problem.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Medz - Aug. 24, 2011

Then what was the real problem? Perhaps we could come up with an idea around it.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Kai-V - Aug. 24, 2011

In itself, is is antisocial.

Plus, I think it was Kei who at that time had a positive yet low reputation : everyone who had a legitimate vote voted, but seemingly the other members just did not care enough about giving him other reputation points as well even though he had always been contributing a lot to the site. What do you want to do in that case : ask people to vote for him ? And me, for instance, I could have a lot of positive points, but I would probably end up with an average reputation level because my comments are not always full of flowers and I warn and ban a lot of people. And it seems unfair to dismiss reputation points like that because of that. I prefer to just receive the stupid messages in private messages, and let life be.

Also, if we have idiotic things like contests on Youtube where, to be able to enter, you need to subscribe to the channel, I am certain we would get such stupid things here too, and not necessarily in our face.

When a post is deleted, edited, or erased by a moderator, shouldn't the poster should atleast be alerted why this occured to prevent repeating such mistakes in the future, otherwise, people will continue to make the same mistakes and have thier posts deleted. (this does not mean give them a warning though, that should be for more serious offenses)

For example, my most recent post in the Death Quetz thread seems to have been deleted in response to a poster who linked to the beyblade wikia, but in my post, I did not once confuse beywiki with the beyblade wikia, so why was it deleted? It also seems as if 3 other posters had thier posts deleted as well. I cannot vouch for them, as I did not see there posts.

I do not post this out of spite, but rather, to prevent myself from making any mistakes in the future that disrupt the stability of the community. That is all I want to do.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Kai-V - Aug. 25, 2011

I do not know if it is possible to get a notification from the system when you get a post erased.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Medz - Aug. 25, 2011

A simple PM the user after deletion would work wouldn't it? If the mod is too busy, it wouldn't be hard to get a script coded that auto-pms the user after deletion.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Kai-V - Aug. 25, 2011

We do erase a lot of posts everyday, often more than one at a time.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Medz - Aug. 25, 2011

An auto-pm script still wouldn't be hard. It should take a couple of hours at max to make.

RE: Make your suggestions! - LeonTempest - Aug. 25, 2011

The only way to notice if your post has truely been deleted is by going to your User CP and in your last 5 posts it says Erased Posts. The number of replies is the numbber of other posts deleted.

If an auto generated message isn't possible (which I can understand) then never mind. It would probobly be alot for the servers to handel anyway.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Synth - Aug. 25, 2011

The problem is there is no plug-in for that. But we can hope, right?

RE: Make your suggestions! - Medz - Aug. 25, 2011

It isn't hard to code a plugin like that but I can understand how it could cause a strain on the servers over time.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Cygnus - Aug. 25, 2011

I think you should allow HTML in signatures. It would really make Sigs a lot better. I have seen many people ask about this.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Medz - Aug. 25, 2011

If you do allow HTML, I think you should only allow certain tags as there are quite a few dangerous ones out there.

RE: Make your suggestions! - Cygnus - Aug. 25, 2011

Yeah, but ones like I love using!

RE: Make your suggestions! - LeonTempest - Aug. 25, 2011

Another suggestion, and this doesnt even involve coding or anything difficult.

With all of the upcoming release threads we have, should the OP be updated to keep up with the status of the bey, rather than scanning through the thread for new pics and information? The threads at first always contain an absurb amount of speculation, which isnt a bad thing on its own, but overall, it makes good info a task to find what you need to know, which it shoudn't.

And while I undertsand that the erased post auto message could cause some problems, it wouldnt be to difficult right? It would just use the same kind of coding as the Welcome to the WBO message you recieve when you make an account. A raise in warning levels would recieve a similar approach

I was thinking of this thread, it should be called Beyblade tips where people share their tips on Beyblade and anyone who has a question check the thread. If the answer is not there then post it on Ask a Question get an Answer, how does it sound ?

What sort of tips do you want to share that are not already common and obvious ?

Maybe those common and obvious ones in one organized place ?

But if they are common and obvious, you do not have to post them ...

Maybe or maybe not, everyday on the WBO people ask the same common and obvious questions .That is why I was thinking of this thread, where these common and obvious tips can be posted, but it is completely up to the committee.
