Some stores are offering to take it off your hands for 20yen, which is around $3... They barely explain any of the mythos behind the game's plot. Hopefully they go more in-depth with that further on in the game because right now I am completely lost. lol This is pretty common in Japanese pop-storytelling, isn't it? Most anime, manga, games etc. seem to flood you with new concepts early on and reveal the explanations behind them as the story goes on. Well, it's not that great compared to some other the other but I would go as far as taking it off of someone for that little. I just hope Viruses will be more of a success. Like Roan, I haven't got a clue what is going on for most of it but I am sure it goes into more detail about it later on, I hope. It doesn't necessarily hold your hand and tell you exactly what to do, but it definitely takes its time and eases you into the new battle system. That was one of my biggest problems with the Final Fantasy games in general -- they were totally overcomplicated, and the games rarely did a good job of explaining the mechanics to you and the best way to take advantage of them. Plus, I'm not really into "hardcore" difficulty, so I appreciate the fact that this game is quite a bit easier so far. It lets me actually enjoy the game rather than get stuck at some ridiculous boss for hours on end. Bey Brad Wrote:This is pretty common in Japanese pop-storytelling, isn't it? I mean, my wording was somewhat hyperbolic, I do have a pretty good idea of what's going on in the game's story so far, it's just that the terminology is really confusing because it's never explicitly defined, only implied or hinted at so you're sort of left to find your own definition of what a l'Cie or fal'Cie is. RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Benkei - Apr. 21, 2010 Its about 20 cents, $3 is around 280 yen. RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Bey Brad - Apr. 21, 2010 I'm guessing he meant 200 yen RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - To - Apr. 21, 2010 (Apr. 21, 2010 3:21 PM)Bey Brad Wrote: welcome to trading in games The game's not even 6 months old. If I were to trade in Uncharted 2 to an EB Games or something I'd still get like $25, and that came out before FFXIII. The reason for XIII's trade-in collapse is because it's a linear RPG that's part of a heavily frontloaded franchise. Add the fact that Japan doesn't have a rental service, and you get a tonne of copies of XIII in used game stores that'll just rot on shelves because those who wanted to play it, likely already have. And yeah, I meant 200 yen, lol. RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - zeek609 - Apr. 21, 2010 but when bayonetta came out over here you could trade in mw2 and get it for 20 quid. second hand games are pretty much worthless. considering mw2 was more than bayonetta :s RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Spaceman - Apr. 22, 2010 I'm finally getting through No More Heroes 2. I'm going to have to import the PS3 version of NMH:HP sadly since Ubisoft is lame. RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Animorph - Apr. 22, 2010 I remember this one part in Spirit Tracks where Zelda gets her body back and this is pretty much what happens: Zelda: *Now in her body again falls to the ground* Bryne: *Bryne looks at link* Go now! Link: *Nods* *Epic music starts playing* Link: *Goes to catch Zelda* Zelda: *Falls on top of Link* *Epic music stops* Link: *Dizzy* Zelda: *Sits there on top of link.* LOL RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Roan - Apr. 23, 2010 (Apr. 22, 2010 8:27 PM)Animorph Wrote: I remember this one part in Spirit Tracks where Zelda gets her body back and this is pretty much what happens: [Image: 2v832ns.jpg] RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - To - Apr. 23, 2010 I miss the days when Crash Bandicoot was still in good video games. I was going to trade in my Naruto Clash of Ninja 2 at GameStop, and the girl said it was worth $1.50. That game has barely no scratches and the box is in great condition!! That game would go for anywhere between $5 and $10. (I didn't trade it, of course.) I've been starting to play my PS2 a lot, and I always crack up when I check it's software version. Everything besides the Playstation Driver is at version 1. Either 1.10 or 1.20. The Driver is at version 2.10U (U probably stands for US). I got Crazy Taxi yesterday (After playing the Arcade version at Dave and Busters), and it's very fun. And today I'm going to GameStop again to get Ratchet and Clank (Or R&C Up Your Arsenal) and if they have it, Marvel VS. Capcom 2. I should probably wait until I get a Dreamcast to get it, because the System Board for the Arcade version, SEGA's NAOMI, shares some parts with the Dreamcast. And even in 2008, some games were still using NAOMI. And guess what NAOMI stands for: New Arcade Operation Machine Idea. As much as that sounds like the most ridiculous name for an Arcade processor, it brought us some amazing games.
