Just a bit better, they're comparable but in a direct mirror battle, Screw Trident will win RE: Energy Layer - Screw Trident - IronFace879 - Apr. 08, 2018 Expect it to be Treptune in the Hasbro future release. And I am betting they will add Winning Valkyrie (definitely “Valtryek”, could be “Winning”) before Treptune Switch Strike releases. Possible result: Screw Treptune or S___ Treptune. I don't think you guys have the proof to claim that it's specifically the Trishula and not any others. If it was actually called "Trishula", it would be another story. Tridents are a weapon clearly associated with multiple gods and belief systems, and it's usually depicted as being yellow/golden, at least from all the renditions I can recall seeing. (Even the dad in The Little Mermaid had a golden one. Aquaman's are also usually golden.) So no, it being yellow is not enough proof. In the west, we strongly associate the trident with Poseidon/Neptune, and so I think Hasbro's call was mighty fair and more accurate, given that the western word was used. Despite that said, I don't think we should pin it on any single one, just list it as being a weapon associated with multiple gods and found in multiple religions. It seems to commonly include giving control over the oceans, which makes sense given that people used a form of non-weaponry tridents for fishing. |
