1000 years is a bit too long. Plus why would you want to distrupt the earth's natural flow and create more problems than we already have. This just wouldn't be right.

i'd rather do something meaningful with my life than live for such an extended period of time

1000 years is a bit silly. Surely people should start living a few hundred years before they start living for a century. :\ So I doubt, if it was possible, anyone who might live 1000 years would actually be alive today.
Thats said, I wouldn't mind living a bit longer, say 150 years, if I was in a relativly healthy state but 1000 years is far too long. Still, if we had always lived for 1000 years, I gues we wouldn't find it so strange and long and we'd probably be active for a great deal of it.
And I'd totally like to be the only person on te world but only for a short amount of time, like two hours. I get lonely too quick.

I'm not bothered about living that long too much. Although imagine how much you could accomplish in all that time.

I would hate to live for a thousand years...what would I do with my life? If everyone lived forever, there would be less initiative to get things done. You could say, "I'll do it tomorrow", and never get anything done.
Plus, I could see suicide increasing. If you had the short end of the stick in life, how would you feel if you knew that you'd have to live with it for the next thousand years, as opposed to the rest of the average person's lifespan?

Maybe because you live so long you'd think you have more time to put things right? Rather than seeing life as hopeless. Things that might normally make someone depressed would be much smaller; a mere blip in such a long lifespan?
