RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Driger_Guy - Dec. 03, 2014 I was mainly asking because I have people on occasion ask which plastics gen. beyblades are at least viable uncustomized, and normally my answer is : Driger S, Driger V2, Driger G, Dranzer V2, Galeon attacker and possibly Flash Leopard. But now I can include Flash Leopard for sure. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - ~Stoney~ - Dec. 03, 2014 Yes, you can. Sounds like a really good bunch of starter beys. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Neo - Dec. 03, 2014 I wouldn't say DZV2 is good stock. I find it too have too much recoil and too little weight. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - ~Stoney~ - Dec. 04, 2014 It sure has its weak points, but compared to many others it does quite well uncustomized. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Driger_Guy - Dec. 04, 2014 I have a different question for today... Is there any good reason (besides rarity) to obtain Blizzard Orthos? (sp?) RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Wombat - Dec. 05, 2014 (Dec. 04, 2014 9:26 PM)Lord_Genbu Wrote: I have a different question for today... Is there any good reason (besides rarity) to obtain Blizzard Orthos? (sp?) I believe Twin Guard, the SP, is a good replacement for Defense Ring, Survivor Ring, and Cross Surviver, but much harder to obtain and not as good as Defense Ring. I also remember reading somewhere that the AR hits really hard when paired with Uriel 2's Base (well a lot of things do, but this one more so than most). It is useful but there are cheaper and better options. But still it's pretty rare so if you see a cheap one go for it. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Neo - Dec. 05, 2014 The AR is great, but feels too light to use properly. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - RDF3 - Dec. 05, 2014 Blizzard Orthros stuff: AR is basically a steroid-injected Whale Attacker: hits like a meteor but flies backwards like a scared duck (Read: very high power and recoil). Use Uriel 2's tip or Seaborg's if you lack it, nothing else can resist that angry two-headed dog. SP is basically a two-sided Survivor Ring, but both are worse than Defense Ring anyway (though Twin Guard is better with something two sided like it's native AR Double Attacker). This thing still rocks though. Basically Blizzard Orthros is not a must-own (even if you do own it you have to be crazy enough/rich enough/lucky enough to buy a spare because it's so uncommon) but a nice one to have. Neo: Weight matters little in plastics since they're lightweight anyway (Smash combos focus on speed not weight. But yes you're correct Dranzer V2 doesn't do well uncustomized. Th!nk said that AR is too recoily, and the base gimmick "dumb", getting koed early, getting outspun late. Attacking late-game is not a good tactic (as you have lost too much stamina to ever KO your opponent, and your lowered spin velocity means you get easily knocked off balance on contact. @Lord_Genbu: Driger G is a bit iffy, but still decent (That AR compensates for the EG's tall height, and works well with it's decent survival (it's a rounded metal flat tip) and aggresive movement. Flash Leopard works well uncustomized but you only need a Metal Driger and a Driger S (and maybe Voltaic Ape and Driger V2) and you're pretty much set with a compact/ weight-based-defense combo (Tiger Defenser/Panther Claw, Ten Heavy, Neo Right SG Heavy Metal Core, and Metal Change Base/Defense Ring+Customize Metal Change Base. Wombat: Defense Ring is better than any SP (except Cross Survivor, better at Defense) at anything thanks to it's small diameter, heavy weight, and good LAD. Survivor Ring/Twin Guard must be satisfied at Attack or mid-echelon zombies. stoney: Most Drigers (apart from F with that flimsy AR and base, and V which sucks) do well uncustomized. In fact each of the main-line (S,F,V,V2,G,GT) four holy bit beasts have something in common with beys from the same "blood-line" (bit-beasts): -Dragoons: left-spin (bar Dragoon Grip Attacker which is 4-layer and therefore Right spin only), rubber tip (apart from V which has a magnetic tip), aggresive AR, white color theme -Dranzers: blue (bar Black Dranzer which is (duh!) black) color theme, AR has a number of sides divisible by two (bar Dranzer GT; Triangle Wing is three sided like Survivor Ring), base able to change modes (bar G/GT which had EG's instead). AR usually the only useful part, S is an exception (SCB yo), also V2 (CROOOOSSS SURVIVOR!!!) -Drigers: grey/white color theme, perform well uncustomized (apart from aformentioned F/V), metal tips (MCB, SG Metal Flat base, etc), good AR's (Cross Fang is too fragile; Sonic Tiger is too recoily, those are exceptions), excellent bases -Draciels: green color theme, metal balls (except for Draciel G), square-shaped (and trashy in performance) ARs, heavy WDs. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Driger_Guy - Dec. 05, 2014 My only reasoning for ever mentioning Dranzer V2 was the mention of it in the Driger V2 page on beywiki which says that bladers have been arguing over which is the best uncustomized beyblade between Dranzer V2 and Driger V2. Anyway thanks RDF3 for the explanation of the different beyblades, although most I did know. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - RDF3 - Dec. 05, 2014 No, Driger V2 v Dranzer V2 is way before the era of Tornado Attack. Driger V2 wins it for me, in TA, it's fearsome uncustomized. Beywiki needs to be updated tbh. It's horribly inaccurate and outdated. I would do it but I don't own anything except knowledge from th!nk. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Neo - Dec. 06, 2014 Honestly, CACB is terrible because of the poor gimmick. Endurance? As if. 4 layer ACB Base is made for that. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Ultra - Dec. 06, 2014 (Dec. 05, 2014 6:05 PM)RDF3 Wrote: No, Driger V2 v Dranzer V2 is way before the era of Tornado Attack. Driger V2 wins it for me, in TA, it's fearsome uncustomized. Um I wouldn't really call it way before considering Dranzer V2 wasn't even ten releases before tornado attack.... It's more likely that the rivalry happened directly in the period of tornado attack actually. However I don't really know much about the supposed rivalry. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - RDF3 - Dec. 06, 2014 Quote:Neo: Weight matters little in plastics since they're lightweight anyway (Smash combos focus on speed not weight. Attacking late-game is not a good tactic (as you have lost too much stamina to ever KO your opponent, and your lowered spin velocity means you get easily knocked off balance on contact). While early in the match it is a plastic sharp tip with poor defense (you get knocked off balance easily, again risking outspin). Neo: Never knew about Dranzer ACB, but if you only care about endurance, Neo Right SG (Double bearing core, two NSK Shield Bearings)+ Defense Ring+ Customize Bearing Base already works better anyway. Anything with M1 (mold 1) wing cross tho? RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Ultra - Dec. 06, 2014 Urgh no weight does matter in plastics. Weight Distribution to be exact. To say such a blanket statement like weight doesn't matter is just dumb. Also smash attack focuses on both and er protrustions. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - RDF3 - Dec. 06, 2014 Well, I didn't mean weight distribution, I meant mass (as plastics are much lighter than MFB). Sorry for not clarifying earlier. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Neo - Dec. 07, 2014 But it does matter in mass. Having a slightly heavy attack type adds force. U2 Tip carries speed well with a 10 Heavy; we're okay. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - RDF3 - Dec. 07, 2014 There's actually little point in using 10 Heavy in Smash Attack. The recoil control granted generally sn't worth the loss in speed. 10 Wide and Wide Defense are THE BEST in Smash Attack. IMO HMC and 10 Heavy should stick to weight-based-defense/ compacts/ whatever that needs weight. Smash Attack doesn't need weight, or at least not as much. An example Smash Attack combo: G Upper+10 Wide+ Left SG (Bearing Version 2 casings, Uriel 2 tip)+ Defense Grip Base 2. As you can see, it uses light-weight parts. Some of the more aggresive ARs are just too recoily even with 10 Heavy, mind you (e.g: Hayate Attack Ring). Also, Uriel 2's tip is by far the speed-king of Plastics, so carrying speed well with 10 heavy is not relevant; it's already fast anyway, and without 10 Heavy it's actually EVEN faster. Yes. force= mass x acceleration, but since there is less mass, you need to focus on speed (or acceleration) to make it worthwhile. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Neo - Dec. 09, 2014 Faster yet uncontrollable. Or barely controllable. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - BeyKing23 - Dec. 10, 2014 As a starter in collecting beyblades do you think Driger V/V2 with the magnet weight disk is a good combo? The show made it seem so but I was never sure if it would benefit the bey in actuality... RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Neo - Dec. 10, 2014 Not for them. Spin stealing, yeah. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - BeyKing23 - Dec. 10, 2014 Thanks for that, but does that mean Voltaic Ape is left spin as well? o.o RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - RDF3 - Dec. 10, 2014 Neo: Control isn't a reason to sacrifice potential power. Yes with 10H you get more control. But Attack is inherently difficult to control properly (except for things like SG MF2) especially on fast tips. Furthermore, Uriel 2's tip like many other rubber-tipped Attack tips/bottoms, will get easier to control with wear (though it's speed will decrease too). And may i ask you nicely: elaborate. Tell them why you think so. Otherwise they might not take you seriously. BeyKing23: Don't use what you learnt from the show in real life because what you see in the show might not apply in real life. Magnetic WD's suck (they're not circular except w/o casings which is illegal and they're really recoily with casings.) for spin stealing, or anything else for that matter. Driger V is eh (recoily AR, decent at best BB) and DGV2 winning a tourney beating th!nk in the past has happened before, but I'd not trust that combo. Also, Voltaic Ape isn't left, it's got a Neo Right SG with MW core IIRC. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - BeyKing23 - Dec. 10, 2014 Yeah I get it its just that a lot of Voltaic Ape sells come with the weight disk so I was wondering and also seeing that DV does have some self killing recoil I was looking to see if a magnet WD would do something to balance it out~ RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - Driger_Guy - Dec. 10, 2014 You may actually be better off with a 10 Heavy to try balancing it out. The weight should make it less likely to knock itself out. (according to theory anyway.) I myself have a driger V and can tell you Magne Weight Disk isn't a good option for it. Magne weight disk doesn't do enough for Driger V to help with recoil and actually seems to make it worse. I'm hoping that a 10 heavy and maybe switching MagneCore for Solid Metal Core will help by adding weight. If not I recommend dropping V in favor of V2. RE: [Plastics] :: Q&A Thread - BeyKing23 - Dec. 11, 2014 awesome advice I will look about that |
