That is interesting to hear. If Dread Diaboros does have the potential to finally overthrow Hell Salamander, then it would be great since it adds more variation to the winning combos. I don't expect it to happen soon since Diaboros is still a relatively new part though, and until then I am sadly still skeptical on Dread's performance. Okay. I know. RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - CitrusNinja3 - Jul. 17, 2019 Are Diabolos' teeth good enough to replace hS? I'd think that its two average-looking teeth paired up with Dread exposing the teeth less would be much worse than Hell Salamander's 4 slightly less than average teeth . I'd think that its two average-looking teeth paired up with Dread exposing the teeth less would be much worse than Hell Salamander's 4 slightly less than average teeth . It can outspin hS, sure. But against a non-stamina layer, I wouldn't trust Dread.Anything. The testing thread might make it seem viable, but Im seeing a lot of opposite spin or non-aggressive opponents. Kudos for trying to make Dread viable, but it's an uphill battle because of the teeth seating. Unless the initial gap in Diabolos is better than a physical tooth. RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - CitrusNinja3 - Jul. 17, 2019 (Jul. 17, 2019 11:13 PM)DeceasedCrab Wrote:(Jul. 17, 2019 6:52 PM)CitrusNinja3 Wrote: Are Diabolos' teeth good enough to replace hS? I'd think that its two average-looking teeth paired up with Dread exposing the teeth less would be much worse than Hell Salamander's 4 slightly less than average teeth . Yeah, I figured it would be something like that. Hell Salamander is primarily used in opposite spin anyway, but it can stand up to the only same spin threats other than itself (Balkesh B3 and Cho-Z Spriggan) pretty well, so the extra Stamina that Dread Diabolos offers isn't going to be enough to make up for the Burst Resistance problem. Also, I was thinking that the gap that Diabolos makes could do something, but I think the white locking piece (or red if it's a Dash Driver) pushes against the teeth anyway, which wouldn't allow the tabs to hook on to said gap, rendering the gap more useless than a slope. But I might be wrong, since I haven't even seen a Diabolos Chip in real life. (Jul. 18, 2019 2:31 AM)LazerBeamz Wrote: Erase Against Time - Burst Standard What the heck are these tournaments? I want to use more exaggerated and irrational words to describe how I feel looking at these tops, but that wouldn't really be appropriate for discussing the meta. Starting with Burst Standard tournament: Accel? ACCEL? Not even Accel Dash? What is this? Reach on Bearing is odd, but how did Accel work? Can Cho-Z Achilles just tornado stall everyone and beat Judgement because burst stoppers? I'm too dumbfounded by this. Please, someone, explain. Next to the surprises in the Burst Classic tournament: ACCEL? Why is Accel being used? On a layer that is full offense. This was even used in Deck Format. I actually understand that new Merge can be used like Xtreme, but once it settles down a new Merge will have too much rubber contact even when sitting in the center. Plus Merge' and Xtreme'/Quick' exist. I was waiting for Destroy to work on a traditional attack layer, but O2 seems out of the blue. Bullet sees use. I don't know if it's actually good though. Someone realized Merge' is a pseudo X'/Qc' too, but it depends how worn down it is. My Merge' is worn, so it isn't as fast as the normal Merge that I've barely used. I don't get Odin.Knuckle.Defense when Orbit is a driver and other drivers that are better than Defense. How did J2 win anything, especially in deck format? What could possibly so be so passive that it can't burst J2? Is it really that farfetched to think that, maybe, just maybe, not all bladers will be able to buy or own the absolute best parts for every potential scenario they will face. Especially in this new format (Burst Classic) where many bladers may not own the most competetive parts as they are harder to find or more expensive now. The bladers did the best with what they had. Ingenuity comes when there are limitations placed. AirKingNeo Maybe try sending them a message or asking them directly about why they made the decisions they made if you are truly curious. Reach is good on Left spin things. And I think in a hS.Br mirror match I probably rather have Reach. The Br would take care most other right spin things on the list no? I don’t know why all the choices are made, but I think there are some good tactical reasons? RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - MagikHorse - Jul. 18, 2019 I do admit that J2 seems weird to see. I really wanna see what it faced off against, because my J2 layers burst if you breathe on them wrong and I don't quite see how it survived to win anything. Defense was always pretty decent in its day. That's not the most surprising thing to see used. Same with Accel, since it's a functional budget version of Accel' if it's not available and Cho-Z Achilles already has burst stoppers to reduce bursting potential. I think the goal of Bullet is to create a Disk Attack sorta bey, since it's so tall that you might actually get disk-to-layer contact. That's a strategy that might actually work out given Bullet's height, but probably in the smaller Classic format as opposed to Standard. Standard relies too much on LAD, and layers are so wide that disk-to-layer contact seems pretty unlikely. The thing I'm questioning is why both Hector's pP and hS both have the 0 disk. Different decks???
