RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Kei - Jul. 12, 2017 (Jul. 12, 2017 7:03 PM)UGottaCetus Wrote: A2 is starting to look like a pretty solid part that was vastly overlooked on release. Nice to see Yell too, Ive been messing around with it and its very interesting. It became a bit less useful upon the release of Guardian Kerbeus however, which beats it and seemingly everything else in terms of Stamina. I wouldn't say A2 was "overlooked" because it truly wasn't useful until D and D2 were banned. RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - UGottaCetus - Jul. 13, 2017 You do have a point but D2 and D were like the only consistently viable parts at all anyway. At least until L2. I have questions about every single combo! Haha. Also, guys ... no need to quote the entire list in your post. I'll edit it out of them. Spriggan was able to KO dF once and nearly beat a K2GP in the prelims. i regret using kerbeus instead of wyvern in that deck RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Rebel Blader - Jul. 18, 2017 (Jul. 18, 2017 4:41 PM)Jimmyjazz39 Wrote:(Jul. 18, 2017 4:23 PM)Rebel Blader Wrote: suprised to see K(tt) and S(tt) there.i always thought unicorn (tt) had potential as a staller.Z2 seems to have more potential than i thought. what are ur thoughts on minoborus?where does M stands in todays meta game. also why did u used a hop attacker i heard they are very risky. RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Jimmyjazz39 - Jul. 18, 2017 (Jul. 18, 2017 4:47 PM)Rebel Blader Wrote:minoboros is decent and it's not as good as other options. i never really got an ideal matchup with it however. as far as the hop attacker, i was just risky and i like attack types. hop attack is interesting and spriggan is pretty good at KOing. i wanted to try it out. i don't have any god layers and hardly any dual layers so i'm very limited in competitive options. i normally put collection ahead of competition so when i compete i work with what i have.(Jul. 18, 2017 4:41 PM)Jimmyjazz39 Wrote: Z2 only won 1 battle against a B2VJ. I've found it to do well on semi-mobile Drivers like Atomic, and Mixed Attack Drivers like Zephyr, though I haven't tested it too extensively on something more stationary like Revolve or Yielding because I'm worried the higher RPM might break it. I used it against Kingman47, who I had seen using Doomscizor D2 Vertical Massive in a previous battle and figured it was a safe option given the Hasbro D2's poor Burst Defense. He used B2VJ instead, but I still ended up winning by outspin and burst.(Jul. 18, 2017 4:23 PM)Rebel Blader Wrote: suprised to see K(tt) and S(tt) there.i always thought unicorn (tt) had potential as a staller.Z2 seems to have more potential than i thought. My other combos are pretty self-explanatory, though interestingly enough I did underestimate how bad Yell really was for same spin Stamina - Jimmy was able to outspin my NYR with KSR in the finals. I don't know if he used Minoboros against anyone but me, but it lost pretty badly to me L2 combo. I think Ardmore Bladers also used Xeno Xcalibur Gravity Revolve at some point during the Round Robin stage, but I could be remembring wrong and it might have been Common Pickle who used it. EDIT: By the way, I also think I've got the Winning Combos archive up to date for Burst and the MFB Formats - could someone check for me and make sure I'm not missing any events? Whoa, awesome. Thank you so much! I'll check this out later. It might be hard to verify if any events were missed or not at the moment since we don't have the event list archive itself up to date just yet. What more can I really say? mG was the MVP for this event; it's the hero we needed to knock Drain Fafnir down a peg and balance things out...or at least, that's what you'd think, but mG actually becomes an even worse wall itself. In this event, mG practically won all battles it was used in, meaning that those that didn't have it were at a significant disadvantage. Unfortunately, I did not have the pleasure of having or using mG, but I did get lucky using L2.S.X against Jay's mG.7F.At, managing to win straight battles with a Bursts and knockouts. When Better LT used the same combo in the finals, I couldn't replicate this (despite the consistency during Jay's match), so I'm a little torn on what was different there. However, in the future, I'd probably still try to counter mG with L2_X; it simply felt good to use and I felt like I had more of a chance against mG when using it. Despite it's name, Legend Spriggan seemed to be a dud throughout the event, losing to simple combinations that it really had no business losing to, such as Kerbeus Wing Massive. I'm still optimistic that lS has a place somewhere in the competitive scene - as I'm sure @[Basedsamuraij] will persevere to prove in future events - but it didn't make a good initial impression with me during this event. Hopefully when I get my own soon, I can be proven wrong by testing... Lots of abuse of Atomic again. The popular opinion between everyone seems to be that Atomic works for everything. Wanting to attack? Use Atomic. Looking to defend? Atomic's your friend. Stamina battle? Atomic has you covered. As much as I hate throwing parts under the banhammer, I think Atomic's all-round usage and general potency is becoming more of an issue than certain Layers are and should probably be kept under a watchful eye over the next few months. Myself and a few others are also becoming increasingly interested in how our currently banned parts - Deathscyther and Dark Deathscyther - would cope in this new metagame. It'd be interesting to see how they hold up against mG, lS, kD and dF and see if we can get them off that dreaded list. RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - V2KX - Jul. 22, 2017 OMG ATOMIC IS OP (Potential ban list??????? like D2 and Deathscyther?????) RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Rebel Blader - Jul. 23, 2017 has anyone tried lS on a aggressive tip like extreme or hunter? RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - chips556 - Jul. 23, 2017 as I'd expected, mG is like burst's basalt, a completely circular layer on the outer & beats almost everything, has anyone tried d2 against mG yet ? RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Rebel Blader - Jul. 23, 2017 who knew burst ver of typio(mG) would be this OP.i think a layer with good slopes can be good against it RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Mage - Jul. 23, 2017 (Jul. 23, 2017 10:56 AM)Rebel Blader Wrote:(Jul. 23, 2017 10:47 AM)Mage Wrote: Yeah, in left spin mode it can counter dF pretty hard but it can't do much against right spin Formal testing isn't always necessary, from 50+ free play battles I think a pattern would be decently visible. Since it's illegal to change spin direction with lS I think most would pick left spin to counter dF, right spin(from experience) does not work against dF. While that may be true your original question of if lS is good on Hunter or Xtreme can be answered without the need for formal testing, simply experience would do. |
