Hopefully this barrier gimmick can be locked in a closed position because it is just asking to break.

Its a right spin only based on the launcher

For a few moments, I mistook Mobius for Merge....

Overall cool looking bey, makes me think TT loves the bible a lot.

RE: B-??? Starter Variant Lucifer.Mb 2D - Dasmind - Jun. 13, 2020

Had the WHF been held, the variant Lucifer's Prison Flame ver and the Sparking Bay Launcher's gold ver would have been sold.

Probably not very. Spikey shapes are not defendable, and they don't really look like good contact points either.

Like heck, they showed a video of it (here) and they had to throw it against King Helios, likely so that the spikes don't show their recoil as badly.

How do you know that? I'd love a gold launcher & cool frame

Admittedly, I keep my expectations low and my hopes high :)

In the pantheon of mesmerizing spinny objects I like to watch crash into each other, Lucifer falls into the category of "Looks awesome", which is usually all the incentive I need to purchase on release day, haha.

Judging by this image, it seems as though the wings will lay flat against the bey, then flip up (or down??) with the centrifugal force (like a big 'Blitz'). MagikHorse, in your link the barrier looked low against Helios, maybe this gimmick will open low and 'trip-up' opposing beys. I have faith in TT to make it interesting at least.

This is B-169, thread title has been updated.

RE: B-169 Starter Variant Lucifer.Mb 2D - Zeutron - Jun. 13, 2020

If this bey ends up being the only July release then this will honestly be a massive disappointment. July usually has two releases so there should either be a booster or a random booster.

Im guessing besides the first ring and uranus chip, there will just be another random booster.

The First Uranus bey is B-00, so if the corocoro doesn't show a random booster for July, I will flip.

This is the Lucifer thread. Not the "let's speculate about what else will release in July" thread. You can stay on topic or you can stay out of thread. Smile

Very, very true man.

I don't think "tripping up" beys really works as a strategy, as you'd be smacking into the disk/chassis of the opponent and just generally can't deal much damage there. At least it looks cool though, like a large UFO.

Too early to say this. Shelter Regulus only expands at higher speeds and retracts when it slows down. This hasn't been seen from this yet, though it's not impossible I suppose.

Really it's more like Claw, Blitz, and other things like this from what we've seen so far.

It's a cool bey, with a cool launcher, with a cool gimmick, but the name...

Really nothing wrong with the name Lucifer the reason people (like myself) were against it was because it didn't make sense since we already have a Lucifer ish bey and people were just straight assuming it was the name before it was confirmed.

I'll wait for dragon, if it's a starter i'll buy, but if not i'll consider Variant or (Valiant)

It's name is confirmed to be Variant, not Valiant. From what I've seen from Google Translate the words don't even look remotely similar in Japanese.

Variant: バリアント or 変異体
Valiant: 勁 or 勇ましい

Can’t say I disagree, Variant is a really weird name for the ring.
