I don’t get why this is even an argument. People have been begging for side characters to reappear instead of just the same 5 people (Valt, Shu, Aiga, Lui, and Free)for years, and all of a sudden we’re acting like we’re above that? Seems like a nothingburger to me.

I entirely disagree. In Burst we actually see characters undergo personal growth and change. There are numerous examples of this. I've done a whole character arc breakdown series on here discussing this. Again returning characters doesn't equal character work.

Why are you getting roles and development mixed up? And even then saying that Lui is the only one in God to be a returning character with a substantial role is criminal. People like Wakiya, Daigo, and Xander who are not part of the main cast in God but are returning characters all play a solid role in the story and are what you call an obstacle to Valt. Silas one of the main characters in God legitimately has a whole half episode to him and Wakiya coming with a plan to defeat Xander a returning character who has a role. 

Also if you must know every single Legend in Sparking except Valt and Rantaro is a side character and yet they all play a major role in the story and get development as well. I think it really depends on the season by season. 

And even if we use your logic about roles then we don't even see anyone outside the main cast of Fusion even appear in Masters any less even have a minor role. 

Either way the cards are in my favor about this. I'm still on Burst>>>Metal.

Just give up. Most burst fans see burst is the perfect beyblade series with no actual flaw they find anything to defend it you can't have a critic of burst cause god of burst forbid it, only refute/Reject is posible the only good debate are between busrt characters lol. The got better story, better mains and better side characters i'm surprised some don't say it has better female at this point, anything you said wont change their mind. Thats why I mostly stay out of their way when I see its going nowhere when it comes having an opinion about all 3 . Just enjoy burst the way you want and agree to disagree it healthier

I don't think Burst is a perfect anime series in general. No anime series is perfect. Naruto is far from perfect. One Piece is far from perfect. Now does Burst destroy Metal in every category except strength? Yes. I would give you guys female cast as a pity point.

Give us the female cast as pity thats the best joke i've heard from a burst Fan, you're not giving anything you simply got nothing so don't flatter yourself to much, I don't even know why you keep coming back with the burst is great article debate then say burst is not perfect although you've been gasing burst this burst that all this time so using the perfect card is to late you just want to be in the right now . lets just stop here I like burst but dont need drag this out its pointless we are not going to agree i'm not trying to be rude so lets just agree to disagree and just change subject .

For the most part MFB or Burst don't handle returning characters that well, but MFB is a lot better at it in my opinion. There's some, if somewhat superfluous examples such as Tetsuya no longer showing his trait to cheat in Metal Masters, or how we eventually see how bladers such as Aguma and Bao are on good terms with their former enemies, the Beylin Temple with Zero G's cameo. There are bigger examples like Tsubasa and Yu getting more to do in Metal Masters, and even a little bit during Fury, despite not having a new toy to sell or being as major as some other characters (until Zero G forgot about Yu), Tsubasa has a story that followed the previous season's. For better or worse, we have the Garcia's, seemingly just minor antagonists, but actually become major in Zero G, with consistent motivations calling back to Argo's rivalry with Tsubasa.

On the flip side, we don't see many of the Dark Nebula bladers at all, Dan and Reiki are only cameos at best, not even a name mention. Team Excalibur was especially horrendous since Metal Fury only had them in one episode and didn't do much, but at least we can see that Julius is okay, and clearly more humble. Kyoya and Kenta not being in Zero G save for a cameo? Come on now. Characters like Benkei are heavily underused and shafted but his character's existence isn't a total waste either. MFB is far from great but we can often appreciate what they try to do for returning characters that aren't just the big major ones.

Now for Burst, they are terrible at using most of their characters. I can easily list the many, many, MANY characters who basically get Thanos snapped whenever a new season rolls around the corner, as if to say "Okay you have nothing more to sell, now go away", but you know this already. Oh sure, they'll remember Free, Shu, Valt, Lui, but let's really think about this. Free got nothing much to do after God, but you could arguably appreciate how much kinder he becomes... but the problem is that he appears time and time again without anything interesting, it becomes very stale. Lean seemed to have something for Free by defeating him, but they botched it up so badly that Free is the ONLY Sparking blader in the tournament to never ever fight Lean directly! How is that even possible?! What a waste. The legends mostly serve as just goal posts for the new main character of the week to surpass. Rantaro is semi-reoccurring, too bad that the show can easily replace him with another Kiyama brother and Valt seemingly never brings him up when his replacement is around.

Speaking of Valt, he has quite the nasty habit of forgetting his friends until they happened to be there. Even when they go back to the Beyclub setting in DB, Valt never ever brings up Kensuke, Daina or Cuza, not even Xhaka! He completely forgets about his new favourite bladers of the week such as Aiga, Drum or the Asahi bros in DB. Valt only remembers Rantaro in Sparking, but as soon as he's gone, nope he has goldfish memory.

The only cameos we do get is Amane, which is just a blink and you'll miss it cameo in Sparking. I do like that Aiga actually remembers his friends like Ranjiro, Souh and Fubuki in GT, that was cool of him. Isn't that right Valt? Sisco, Rantaro and Ranjiro did return in Sparking yes, but they only came back for marketing purposes, when they happened to have a new toy to sell. Kurtz and Sisco cameo in Chouzetsu... but they had a mostly offscreen battle with no real substance to their character, but at least Sisco does flashback to that, so I'll give him that much.

When Burst do use their main characters and their friends for their respective seasons, it's... alright? It was decent in Burst and God, terrible in Chouzetsu, okay-ish in GT, Sparking did it poorly and DB tried... then it didn't. Compare that to MFB, in Fusion, they gave Kenta a few decent focus episodes, Benkei clearly developed. In Masters, all the Gangan members had their moments, albeit not distributed that well. Fury wasn't great but Kenta's character was pretty cool and easy to appreciate there, even if it isn't perfect. Zero G... ehhh honestly I'll give you that, Eight, Kite and Ren were not given very much at all.

First of all, Daina and Xhaka got, like, one major battle, however:

I’m dropping the whole previous argument to focus that last point (also it’s gotten kind of old). Me personally, I find MFB consistently more engaging, since it got more creative with its plot. In Burst it can feel like you just go through tournament after tournament, and I suppose that’s because it’s more grounded, so it’s not like there’s many options to choose from. But because MFB is not, the story can do super crazy things.

Now I love Burst, don’t get me wrong, but there are plenty of stretches, at least one in each season, where I’m completely non engaged with whatever’s going on in the show. Burst does make up for a lackluster overall plot with characters. But they always bring back the same ones. I like that in MFB there were always new faces wit ph new interesting Beys around every corner.

I also think the world just so much more alive. I get that there are worldwide power rankings in Burst, but each place feels super disconnected. Every time they go to BC Sol it feels completely divorced from everywhere else, but in MFB, I personally felt the opposite. The large variety of Bladers also helped, where as in Burst, people aren’t really spread through out the world. You’re either in Japan or Spain 90% of the time (excluding Shu as the 10%).

As I said before MFB is less grounded so battles are way more interesting. Each Blader really uses the entirety of the stadium and environment to the advantage. The first major battle with Gingka vs Kyoya is a testament to that. The Bey Spirits also feel way more connected to the battles than avatars. 

MFB also has really great world building. This is also an advantage of being less grounded. The crazy lore spanning hundreds of years is not only super cool, but makes you feel more connected to the plot. The fact that the characters are intertwined with the plot also makes them more interesting. Ryuga and Gingka as wielders of the legendary L-Drago and Pegasus are already super engaging to see for that reason alone. Meanwhile in Burst, while the characters are good, they don’t have that extra 1 up.

For some more opinionated points: I find the art style, overall characters, music, and Beyblade systems more desirable in MFB.
I don’t intend to make this another debate btw, I’m just giving my personal two cents in MFB.

I always found them to be equals. On an individual level Pegasus is probably stronger than L-Drago, but their immense skill as Bladers, along with their connections to their Bey Spirits definitely levels the playing field.

Well the author said by the end of metal saga era Gingka was stronger. But if I go by personal I think it can go either way. Just like how Free and Lui

Yeah, but everytime Gingka battles Ryuga, it's when L-Drago makes his debut, that's a major disadvantage for Gingka. In their final battle, Gingka had 0 special moves, and it was L-Drago Destroy's debut which is why he needed to win.

With Gingka and Ryuga they never actually fought each other at their peak. For example their battle during fusion and Fury was really Ryuga helping Gingka get his thing back together and all honestly I never count cause each of their battles are kind of situational type. 1st battle Ryuga was posessed their 2nd and 3rs Ryuga give Gingka a wake up Call and hurry up to master Pegasus Cause you haven't. I'll say this though Ryuga always had the better undertaning of beys his more skilled at it.

I'd say Ryuga is stronger.

I really don't see how Ryuga is stronger. Gingka was never in his peak when fighting him, had 0 special moves when battling him in Metal Fury.

As far as I remember, not too long ago Adachi said they are equals, it really depends on the situation who'll win.

Does anyone think the scans for the English version of the Burst manga will ever be revealed? It seems like no one has it.

I’ve been trying to create a whole storyboard of the manga comparing it to the anime start to finish. If anybody has translations or knows the language please feel free to send a private message.

Interesting you mention the Burst manga, as just yesterday I wondered why it only exists in japanese and french. (I mean, at least with french I kind of can translate it.)

Oh that is good to know! Bad I can't find them online to buy though. Unless I look at the wrong places.

Despite having writing issues, Burst has some of the best character designs in anime history! I mean look at Lui, Gwyn, Fubuki, Arthur, Phenomeno, and Free-peak character designs!
