Pretty much all monthly mangas have a HUGE change once an anime adaption is made. Because Beyblade is a manga that is released monthly, the author can only do so much per chapter. Anime adaptions of said monthly manga have big changes so it can have more content since said anime is released weekly.

Had a giggle or two actually. though the .zip seems a lot bigger than I originally expected it to be.

Yeah. Previous ones were smaller, but I purposely scanned this one using a higher DPI as requested by Golden Roze for their translations, thus requiring a larger file size.
I also didn't really compress it using WinRAR or anything special, so that might have had an impact as well.

Something interesting to note; both of the quarter-finalists that Shu and Wakiya defeated were using Kerbeus Central Defense. Rather strange to see...

Actually, the one Shuu defeated looks more like Ragnaruk Heavy Survive, or at least Kerbeus Heavy Survive.

Could be, though I was looking more at the Wheel which seems to use quite a few blades and resembles Kerbeus' 16-blade design, and then the shape on the top of the Driver which seems more like a shield than a stylised "S".
That Disk could very well be Heavy though...

Well I just noticed that he actually drew two completely different sets of parts from one frame to the other, actually hah. On the right, the sides of that Driver are definitely more like a bare Driver like Survive, but the Driver in the left frame has that ring surrounding it so you are correct to say that it is Defense there. The Disk in the right frame is for sure Heavy, but the one on the left could totally be Spread or Central since it does not have those 'blocks' Heavy has around it.
And Hiro Morita's drawing of Deathscyther was rather inaccurate too ...

Oh wow, I see it now. I guess he didn't mind the inconsistency when drawing it as it was just supposed to be a generic 1-frame opponent, but nonetheless.
I did notice the Deathscyther inaccuracy. It seemed like he tried at first and then thought "actually, nobody is going to notice unless they stare at it".

I do not know, I definitely do not want to offend him in case he could ever read this site, but this chapter definitely has some flaws in terms of Beyblade design, unfortunately ...
