You're most likely not going to find any fans of this music here. It's kind of an extreme style.
The only math band I've really found myself into in the past was Psyopus, but even they are a bit much for me.

@ Sam: Crab moves are cool, but I prefer crazy time signatures and complex poly-rhythmic playability though
@ Synesthesia: It is such a extreme style because of their varying time signatures and unorthodox song structure. I for one enjoy it very much so and I was hoping I can at least turn people on to this awesome genre. I mean, it's hard enough to go on a asymetrical time signature but to do it as a band...
And the only death metal I listened to is Dethklok (not really death metal but the tone is just the same) Detroit Metal City (epic movie where Ken'ichi-sama's skills are way better in that movie than when he was in Death Note) and "Disciples of Revenge" by Cannibal Corpse. And of course, how can I forget about "Visions"....
But mathrock/mathcore are my genres, as well as progressive rock, metal, 30 Seconds to Mars and Muse.

Cannibal Corpse is actually my least favorite Death Metal band.
As far as Math stuff, I never really got into it because the songs never really seem to go anywhere. It just sounds like really atonal scales and chords over unorthodox time signatures using every technique under the sun with high pitch screamed vocals.
I've tried plenty of times to get into it, but the lack of direction is kind of a turn off. I think the problem I have is it comes of as more of a showcase of technique rather than an actual musical statement.
I could definitely be missing something though.

I believe Norma Jean was somewhat Mathcore, but they aren't anymore, really. I liked a few of the songs, but nothing too much. It just doesn't really appeal to me.

I can understand where you are coming from. Most of these songs don't have a general direction as far as I know. While most of these do showcase everything under the sun, some have actual talent which amazes me even more on how they are able to do some of those mind-boggling things while staying in-sync with their bandmates.
Example: Thomas Erak from The Fall of Troy. I don't know how it is possible for him to sing, dance around on stage all while hitting every note in his songs. Unless, maybe if you have about 20+ years of drumming under your belt. And he also plays bass too.
Norma Jean used to be good with mathcore but I believe they are grindcore now. A very good math rock band is Don Caballero.
And mathrock/mathcore is not for everyone, I can understand that not that many people are into songs that are basically jam sessions with jazzy drumming. But then again, this is one of the coolest genres and it's super-refreshing from all of the cookie-cutter thrash metal/hardcore/grindcore/screamo bands out there in your local music scene.

The mathcore "genre" has become just as generic and cookie-cutter as everything else out there.

Okay, your argument is valid. That was kinda bad for me to write that. I mean I live in Charlotte, where there is nothing but thrash-metal/hardcore/grindcore/screamo bands and there's only one mathrock band out here as far as I know. It's good, but gets boring after a while.
But yeah, pretty much ALL genres are becoming generic and cookie-cutters!

Eh music sounds really lame...no offence its just not my style. Im more into the Industrial, Gothix metal theme or metal that actually talks about real stuff going on. KMFDM=Antigoverment /DEATHSTARS=Hate and depression /In Flames=Dragging on life as it dies
They all have a subject of truth. Math core sounds like a band were drugs took over there minds and really have no idea what there singing about when there really thinking about them singing like Coldplay XD
