Restricted Format - Bey Brad - Aug. 20, 2008 I was working on this in the flight over to BC. I still think that this is a good idea that has the potential to make the game a lot more interesting. Currently, here are the parts that are banned: TORNADO ATTACK, TORNADO BALANCE AR: Samurai Upper, Circle Upper RC: Bearing Core TORNADO BALANCE TYPE S AR: Samurai Upper, Circle Upper RC: Grip Flat Core, Grip Flat Core UM Any suggestions? RE: Restricted Format - FFX - Aug. 20, 2008 I'm slightly confused by why these AR's won't be allowed. These AR's are that game breaking? I mean, these are all T1 ar's, but so are MAMS. Are we going to be looking at banning Zombies for plastics..? I'm definitely interesting in adopting restricted for the tournament, RE: Restricted Format - Bey Brad - Aug. 20, 2008 You think Circle Upper and Samurai Upper aren't game-breaking ARs? They're pretty much the only ARs used in Attack-types. RE: Restricted Format - Bluezee - Aug. 20, 2008 wow! banning the best uppers in the game?..this will definitely make it more interesting..i like this list... i beleive this will make more opportunity to see more unique combos and not ppl using the same combos as others..i think this will be much better..if there are any additions or removals that need to be on the list, BOTB2 will be the test subject RE: Restricted Format - Grey - Aug. 20, 2008 (Aug. 20, 2008 11:22 PM)Bluezee Wrote: wow! banning the best uppers in the game?..this will definitely make it more interesting..i like this list... Is this also because you don't have a Circle Upper? I don't really have any say, since I don't go to tournaments, but I think that banning extremely over-used parts is fine. It'll make people think a little more, rather than just using their best parts. RE: Restricted Format - FFX - Aug. 20, 2008 I agree that they are game breaking, but I'm not sure that they are enough to ban them for TB. I can see why for TBTS, but they aren't as dominate to be the only AR's used for TB, are they? RE: Restricted Format - bugturtles - Aug. 20, 2008 You know what I've already said about this. bt approved RE: Restricted Format - Bluezee - Aug. 20, 2008 no i say that bcuz even if i did have one, what is the point in using it if 90% of the competition will use the same?..i want a unique combo RE: Restricted Format - Grey - Aug. 20, 2008 (Aug. 20, 2008 11:27 PM)Bluezee Wrote: no i say that bcuz even if i did have one, what is the point in using it if 90% of the competition will use the same?..i want a unique combo 'Tis what I'm saying, it'll make people think more before just slapping parts that they know are good together. I hate using over-used parts just because they're good. So I agree with Brad, despite not having any actual voice on the matter. RE: Restricted Format - Bluezee - Aug. 20, 2008 hey, u never know, you may even see an uncustomized strata dragoon ms appear again in tourneys lol RE: Restricted Format - Planeshift - Aug. 21, 2008 So you're more concerned with having a unique combo than winning?:-/ RE: Restricted Format - bugturtles - Aug. 21, 2008 (Aug. 21, 2008 1:09 AM)Planeshift Wrote: So you're more concerned with having a unique combo than winning?:-/ This forces the beyblader to think instead of using staples and cookie-cutter combos. With these parts not to be used, I think more parts will have their share of fame. RE: Restricted Format - Gruffy McGibber - Aug. 21, 2008 Winning is no fun if you know for sure you're going to win. With these parts its like a 95% chance that you win. Just noticed that bt said something like this.... RE: Restricted Format - Evan - Aug. 21, 2008 I do like this, but Grip Core Flat UM in TBTS? Why? It's pretty hard to control, I personally think it should be kept. I don't think Bearing Core should be banned, but I think Wolborg MS should. The beyblade as a whole, but the individual parts should be kept. RE: Restricted Format - G - Aug. 21, 2008 We're still thinking it over right? Otherwise it'll be applied to any IBA related tournies? I think this is fine for now. I'd maybe consider adding Metal Ape to it though. Also, if you ban Wolborg MS and not bearing core then the cookie cutter combos still stay. RE: Restricted Format - Maz - Aug. 21, 2008 I don't think having samurai and circle upper restricted is a good idea. I recently stopped using Circle Upper in favor of Metal Upper. The Upper isn't supposed to be all that great, but surprisingly, I'm seeing better results with Metal Upper. Maybe I'm just biased or something, but... EDIT: Point being, you don't need to have the best Upper Attack Rings to use Upper Attack. The beyblade as a whole, but the individual parts should be kept. Well, ofcourse there will ALWAYS be a cookie cutter combo even if you ban certain parts. It's like a card game. Ban a card, everyone's decks get scrapped, they make the next super deck. It'll be the same. I think Wolborg MS should be banned in TB, but Bearing Core shouldn't to allow atleast one survival type that will stand any chance. RE: Restricted Format - Train - Aug. 21, 2008 I can understand the sense with what you're trying to do, but won't Bearing Core 2 be like way too powerful in Tornado Balance since the survival is now the best and attack won't really work against it because of how it grips AND survives? Like I don't know this for SURE, but I'm pretty sure this is the case. RE: Restricted Format - SexyMichael - Aug. 21, 2008 Looks good to me. We should band grip sharp sore too, it's just so carp op. RE: Restricted Format - Kei - Aug. 21, 2008 I'll post more thoughts later, but part of me does not see the point of this format. I mean, what it is trying to do is admirable, but it will just force you to use the next best thing in a lot of situations. Is this not correct? If this is how it is to be done though, off the top of my head I believe Jiraiya Blade should be banned from use in TBTS. It is deadly in that stadium. imo, it is right up there with Circle and Samurai Upper. Unless of course you're aiming for all IBA tournaments to be required to use this, in which case I think that's a little extreme and a little unnecessary seeing as how there are effective ways to counter all of the parts that are on the banned list in each stadium. RE: Restricted Format - Synesthesia - Aug. 21, 2008 I think he's creating this format simply to offer all IBA tournaments another option. This format opens up a lot of new possibilities. It will force people to create new combos, and choose new parts. Inevitably there will be cookie cutter combos but without Bearing Core, Samurai Upper, and Circle Upper, I doubt they will be anywhere near as powerful. Like I don't know this for SURE, but I'm pretty sure this is the case. Not 100% sure of this since I don't own the part myself, but I think Bearing Core 2 loses a considerable amount of survive-ability because of the rubber tip. I'd imagine you could beat it with a metal change core combo, or a metal sharp core combo. |
