We are politely debating. Discussing. If you have a problem for it, i don't even know what to say.

Same thing as ryuga. We are just trying to come to an agreement.
Ryuga's Son, you need to learn some respect.

You may not love or appreciate others' opinions or ideas, but some people do. You're majorly embarrassing yourself trying to control other people and stop fanclubs. Just because ONE person doesn't like them, does that mean everyone HAS to follow? Even if you were being civilized about it, I don't think anyone would agree with your arguments. Fan clubs fit in here as much as anything else. Tell me, just because you don't like them, that makes it spam?

Your arguments are kind of embarrassing, and you're the one who needs to correct themself, not USN. He was the one making a polite comment, which I agree with him 100% Fan clubs are not spam. This is a Beyblade Discussion Website, and the characters are likable so people are allowed to make fan clubs. Sure maybe Fan "clubs" aren't the best way to put it, but I 100% agree with threads named "Who likes Ranzo?" or something along those lines. I don't like them very much, but fanclubs are DEFINITELY not spam. Other people are allowed to discuss characters just as much as products, and the last time I checked, "Ranzo" was associated with beyblade. Please, try to respect others' opinions and ideas more.

Thanks.
Ill be completely honest: The last thing I want the WBO to become is a place where its niche communities turn against each other. I dont want the Beyblade anime audience community start to hate on the Beyblade fanfiction community; or the Bey toys community starts to hate on the artist community; or whatever section of the WBO start hating on another niche Beyblade interest

Of course no one explicitly said that we should all turn against the community that worships Beyblade anime characters and the like. Its just the vibe Im getting where people want to shut down other Beyblade fans, particularly those who participate in the fanclub spam
My opinion on fanclubs:

It's harmless and funny to some, but it's unnecessary. I don't think of it as spam since they don't go on every thread and be like "Ranzo is cool" "Ranzo my AMIGO!!!!" and stuff. It's funny for most. One thing I get annoyed by is the pfp. I often get confused. But the fanclubs are extremely unnecessary. The WBO is to discuss beyblade releases, the anime, and other stuff. Not to make a fanclub and get people to join the "pfp club" I got very annoyed by the Ranzo pfp. Chad Valt isn't that bad but it's still annoying. I just decide not to read fanclubs. Now if you wanna go ahead hating on a thread you DON'T even have to click on be my guest.

Fair enough. It was a fun gag that went on for some time, but it's natural that some people would get annoyed by the pfp groups (once again, I apologise for spreading the Ranzo one) and really, harmless as they may be, too many threads get reptitive and there's bound to be some backlash.

My suggestion: Just merge all fanclub threads into one thread and call it Character Fanclub, and tone down the pfp group thing a bit (it'll be a bit hard to completely stop ppl from using the same pfp, so please try to roll with it). Problem solved? Probably.
This thread has really expanded, honestly, I think this serves a good purpose, I wonder what requested changes will go through and how the rest of the community will react.

All I'm trying to say that Fan Clubs with memes are useless and not WBO's purpose. Please read the rules again. I didn't say anyone has to follow. I respect everyone's opinions, I'm just trying to voice my own. I'm not insulting anyone's opinion. If you think I am, sorry. Yes it is spam. Does it give you knowledge about beyblade? Relevant to WBO"S purpose? Is it neccessary? You thinking i'm trying to control people to believe me is absurd. I NEVER said people had to follow. I do appreciate people's opoionis and ideas. I never said that. In fact, I did point out my mistakes as well. Characters that are likable, cool. But, making useless spam memes about them is absurd. Thanks.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, theres a possibility that the off topic section might be removed or at least getting a makeover. Im definitely okay with that, especially if the mods feel like its not up to their standards

Im not sure about other people — as I have my own spaces where I store my writings —since I am a little concerned about where their works might be after this. Im sure plenty of people work hard on drawing Beyblade fanart and writing stories about Beyblade, and its a shame that they might be removed and gone forever. We have tons of creative people on here who love to write and draw Beyblade stuff, and I would feel terrible if they were discouraged by the section’s complete removal. The WBO Discord doesnt have a channel for such creative spaces

Speaking of being Beyblade-related, if the off topic section is getting a huge revamp, then I wouldnt mind only the general off topic stuff being removed (ex. Video game discussions) since theyre non-Beyblade related. If possible, I think keeping Beyblade-related fanworks would be fine if the section is getting a total revamp, perhaps being renamed to “Beyblade Fanworks” or similar — the current “Your Creations” implies that off topic creative works are allowed, and Ive definitely seen some non-Beyblade stories being posted here. Being a forums for Beyblade, I think only Beyblade fanart/fanfics should be posted and other fanworks could be removed for organization purposes

But then again, off topic removals are usually either a huge loss or a huge benefit. Ive been on a really active site and that website understandably banned off topic content, as too many people posted 1) YouTube drama, 2) inappropriate rants/vents, 3) spammy polls, and etc. to the point the site was widely off topic. But here on the WBO, I havent seen much drama and traffic caused by off topic content. It wouldnt hurt to let them stay since I hardly see them causing trouble. However, Im just a normal user and Im sure WBO mods have more insight on how disorganized the off topic section is. Treat my words as a grain of salt! /lh
Wow you guys need to be tolerant of other people's opinion. Like the people who say fan clubs are fine and do not harm are absolutely fine to voice their opinions. I do not, however believe those kinds of posts should be on the WBO , (We have the discord for that)

I do realise however, that it boils down to a definition of the WBO. What do you consider what the WBO is and why do you want to use it?

The answer to the above question can be different for all of us. I believe the WBO is a place to have fun but intelligent conversation.

So calm down ya'll and have a nice discussion
I think post restriction/limit would be bad. If you have nothing to do at all and you're actually posting interesting things, helping, having a nice conversation with others, and then suddenly you can't post anymore, that would honestly make me super mad. I don't post a lot, but some people do. This would decrease the popularity of the WBO by a lot. it would also make people extremely mad.
For the most part, the spam I see that actually occurs is quickly stopped by the line-break gimmick — if you respond to a thread with new posts back-to-back, your new response will merge with the old one (and theres no notification given to the thread’s subscribed users). The gimmick refreshes in 12 hours, in which your consecutive response will actually give a notification to users. Im not sure if that makes sense, since Im bad at explaining, aha. All I know is that I find this a nice system, so I wont get notifs from spammy replies — and it sure reminded me to not spam my own thread back when I was starting out!

Even if the post-merging isnt enough, Ill admit that it actually has helped

Mr. VTRyuga, (my father lol jk jk don't mind this) Sorry but I have to honestly disagree. We weren't disrespectful. This debate was actually very nice. No one was mean (except maybe and his post did kinda hurt me. Yes. Fan clubs WITH ABSURD MEMES and no actual REAL beyblade knowledge gained ARE SPAM. I consider WBO as a posting place. Knowledge to be gained. Fun reading fan fictions, your creations making up stuff, tournaments, debating etc. Not spam.

Yes, I agree with this. My post was a little out of hand, as I didn't mean all of it. I was literally trying to calm down the debate-to-be-argument. I'm sorry if anything I said was mean or offensive to anyone, but I didn't mean it. Now, we are at a place that we can politely talk about this situation. I agree with Ryuga 100%. The fan clubs with irrelevant memes are unnecessary, which is why I think they should 100% be moved to discord, or merged into one thread.
Just had an idea that should hopefully be relatively easy to implement and help with some of the current issues. What if we gave the Search button its own icon? At the moment, it's hidden in the "More" tab, but what if it had its own button?

For example, the current WBO format looks like this on desktop. What if we changed it to look more like this instead? With the Search button visible and easily located, anyone visiting the site would have little trouble finding and using it.
its like pitch black at 2:00 am and i got a cold and took some Benadryl (or carp like it) a few hrs earlier, so I feel like absolute garbage. plz Excuse my utter lack of grammar, and tact, and plz correct any wrong statements, but my 2 cents are:

this thread is perfectly valid, and as one of the main aggressors here, I sincerely apologize. I do, however, agree with some of these posts. Ill be taking a look at some of the main problems that I believe are in the WBO. I will be pointing fingers, though #1: just examples, for some of these I've seen dozens of threads like this, and #2: I mean nothing, all of yall r cool Smile

Team threads. After Naman made his thread and blader umar came back, and the whole carp that ensued, team threads have been pretty popular. the problem is, most are used as chatrooms, like the dragon gacha team or whatever its name is rn. that's not a team, that's a ton of ppl talking about totally random carp they find interesting. USA/za warudo teams in general are hard to manage, but I've seen some (like namans) have at least some sort of communication besides the wbo. I've seen txt groups, (semi) periodic zoom calls, etc. but at some point, a chatroom team stops being a team and becomes a bunch of dudes( and dudettes) messing around.

REVIVAL threads. I capitalized REVIVAL for no reason, but just imagine some important dude saying it and angels singing over it (for comedic effect). btw I've done this quite a few times. REVIVAL threads are threads that are revived for the sake of reviving them. There is literally not point to doing this, it just happens. and unlike good thread REVIVAL(s), which revive threads because the topic is rebecoming relevant or is still relevant, REVIVAL threads revive threads for a) attention and/or b) absolute boredom. ofc, the revival could happen as response to inactivity on a recent topic, such as buying and selling threads. a common misconception( that I've made) is that u cant necropost if you're the threads owner. yes and no. u can necropost as the owner if you are:
a) expressing a revived(no pun intended) interest in a buying or selling thread
b) adding info to a still relevant thread
c) seeing a previous dead thread being relevant again
Well, what about threads like the maiden thing? doesn't that check a? no. the user got themselves their product, then wished to re-order it, as it broke. there is no reason to post that. that's what dms are for.

there are more but I've reached the point where I'm typing random garbage excuses in my head for being lazy and tired cause I'm lazy and tired. srsly misspelled tired 5 times, spelled it the right way twice, and decided that was wrong. ig ill finish this if I don't feel like procrastinating

quick edit: forgot about fanclubs. yea no, they don't serve any purpose. like a chatroom for stans. there's a reddit, a discord, an amino. not saying u cant say 'I like harry'(you SHOULD say that tbh), but it 1046% does not need its own thread.

I have been inactive for a couple of weeks and want to remain that way for the most part, but after browsing through the wbo and finding this thread, I honestly feel really urged to give a "quick" share of my opinion on fanclub threads as well.

I really wanted to quote your reply because I feel like you said something that basically sums most of this up:
"The answer to the above question can be different for all of us.  I believe the WBO is a place to have fun but intelligent conversation."

I completely agree with this. If the rules of the WBO imply literally anything about the website, its that the discussions are supposed to be meaningful and intelligent, not pointless and illegible. When we take this into account, fan clubs threads are nowhere near the standard of appropriate threads. Despite this, I also agree with because truth be told, there is nothing wrong with the general idea of a fan club thread. After all, they are basically just a form of respect thread devoted to a particular beyblade character so they would ideally be perfectly fit for this forum. To explain my opinion a bit better, I don't think that the actual concept of a fan club thread is an issue at all, rather the true problem is the discussions that go on Inside these threads.

Discussing your favourite characters is completely fine but if you are going to bump a thread just to make an illiterate and pointless post along the lines of "AMIIGO AMIIIGO" or "all hail our saviour, lord Amane!" There is definitely an issue with your post. Some of the biggest most stressed rules of the wbo revolve around engaging in serious proper discussion and making posts that people want to read and I think we can all agree that those posts are nothing more than frivolous wastes of time. That being said, also made a good point, spam is spam and it is against the rules whether you like it or not so it really doesn't matter if "a couple" of people enjoy those types of discussions. Fan club threads are not an issue, nor are they harmful themselves, but the lack of self regulation amongst users is what has earned them such a bad reputation.

I decided to look through the Ranzo fan club thread to find an example of a proper, intelligent post and I did end up finding something.

(Sorry for putting you on the spotlight ) You see, PinkRose has provided an actual opinion in his serious/intelligible post-and more than that, he has posted with the intent of actually making an engaging contribution towards the topic. These are the types of posts/discussions that need to be going on within the fan club threads or better yet, any thread really. Ultimately, this all just boils down back to the main issue at hand (the one Vtryuga made this topic for) that being that nobody bothers to actually read through the rules or learn from their mistakes. In all honesty, it will probably remain that way as well. Younger/careless members are about as likely to read through the rules as they are to read the terms and conditions of an app. They simply aren't going to do it no matter what you do to the site layout or convenience because they just can't be reasoned with, so the best approach would just be a more restrictive function.

Something else that I just realized is that the Community Rules is hidden under the same "More" tab as the Search function is. Surely it would help if this was more visible and easier to locate?

I never in my whole life agree with someone more than I ever have in my past life. Great post!
Times are changing and so is the WBO. The WBO I’d dominated primarily by children to mid teens (around 15) and the way it stands these people are much more interested in a more chat room like WBO (myself included). It’s nothing to be cautious about really and in fact we shouldn’t treat it as a problem. But if you want to remove the fan clubs I don’t really care since I was never really a part of that (although there are others that don’t particularly like that idea). All in all the purpose of the WBO has shifted because of the wants of the majority. While you don’t have to agree with this post this is my two cents. If you liked it I guess you can like it, if you dislike then I guess just ignore this.
