Notice how the people in favor of keeping marijuana illegal are forgetting about the detriment to people from causes such as smoke from factorys, cars, trucks, and nuclear weapons that effect society AND the world as a whole.

EDIT: I aggree with you on the alchohol front though, but you've gotta admit that marijuana and cigarettes will never ever hold a candle to the afforementioned causes.

Your justification is that since there is pollution and nuclear weapons people should be allowed to smoke marijuana.

Go play with your Bump King.

No one is forgetting thatany of those things are harmful, but how in the world is that related to Marijuana?

The discussion was about Marijuana, and it's legalization if I remember correctly - not how we can blow up the world by simultaneously pushing a shitload of buttons.

In anycase, mentioning how horrible nukes and pollution doesn't take away from the fact that legalizing Marijuana as a recreational drug would do more harm than good. Are you trying to say that since things are already carp up, that carp it up a bit more won't be that bad?

Piling carp on carp won't solve anything, but burying us further into an already decaying world.

See, I'm not entirely sure that legalizing it will make things worse. To be honest, I'm not sure where I stand on the issue.
My whole reasoning for legalizing marijuana is the simple fact the ones who truly want it are already getting it. For that purpose, heavily taxing it would be beneficial.

Now, for that to ever happen there must be a set and statutory laws set in place. I haven't really thought of what those laws and conditions are, but I'm sure society could figure it out.
i am convinced bump king says "Mary Jane" because he can't spell "marijuana"

Well, then question whether or not it will accomplish anything positive. I highly doubt legalizing it for recreational use will benefit society in any shape of form.

Either way, I don't think it will be legalized anytime in the near future.

Why was I randomly subscribed to every thread I posted in?

Wrong, my justification in that post is that marijuana causes far less damage to the world than many other things, just driving to work for one day (5 miles) can be equal to letting off 500 or more packs of cigarette smoke and people should be more concerned about that, however that is not my justification for why it should be legal, my justification for that was explained in my reply to ominous.
Anyways why are you trying to taunt me at the end of your post, are you hoping that i will snap at you so that you can have a reason to ban me? I'm not that stupid.

Go play with your Dark Effigy.

Check your user CP, it might be possible something glitched in your settings during the move.

Also, I'm inclined to agree with Artie.

yeah highly taxing it so the people who already buy it pay more for it that helps a) bring lower our deicift and b ) help our bridges, UHC (if you're in the US) and other issues

i can see your point but saying it won't be beneficial in the slightest? i doubt that
uhc in the usa

what a dreamer
the causes of the banning and prohibition of marijuana and other sorts of "drugs" is due to ignorant racism in the century.

The problem with Marijuana is the same as any other recreational vice or otherwise nonproductive behavior. The major fault in most things, particularly in excess, is the immaturity of its users to be incapable of doing such an act in moderation. Under the same umbrella as tobacco, alcohol, and the more risque side of the porn industry, we, as a nation, are not capable of handling such material in a rational manner. That is a great tragedy. If the majority of European culture can accept alcohol and smoking as a part of daily life, and not as a venue for channeling spite or pleasure, perhaps America can follow suit....some day.

While I'm a firm believer that legalization can, over time, breed maturity into its users. The fault is the immediate repercussions of such an act are detrimental to the point of nullification of any sort of progress in that respect. Unfortunately, the political climate makes such an effort impossible.

As so far as a personal response, I have always regulated myself to a philosophy of at least giving it a fair experiment. Much like with food, video games, and music, I have tried marijuana. However, it was boring and the atmosphere I tried it in was particularly uncomfortable. So, I have no desire to do it again.

Also, I'm sick as balls. Apologies to anything that doesn't make sense in my post.
This is a little off topic, but I'm sick of people bashing alcohol. You don't think that if other stuff was around as long that it would be causing as many problems? Secondly my grandfather is 90 and he was actually an alcoholic. Like detoxing and all. He's not got any issues other than shakes from it. He's still got a fully functioning liver, kidneys and brain. Lives on his own now without any medical issues. (No nurses to care for him or ANYTHING) He's even still walking. Alcohol is not as evil as people believe it to be.

Also I'm with Brad when it comes to the amount. I only drink on the weekends, but I have like 2-3 I don't binge or get totally drunk off my carp like until I can't walk.

I have seen both good and bad of Marijuana. I once saw someone take a test on it and get better then he would have had it done it totally level headed and clear. A friend of mine in college did it and forgot everything about the engineering program we were being tested on. Like he forgot the simplest of commands to make shapes and stuff.

I think if it was legalized there would be a lot less drive to do it. People like doing it so much because it is illegal. (Like I swear it's probably half the reason).

If I get stung by a bee nothing happens, if my cousin gets stung by a bee he'll swell up and have to get rushed to the hospital.

My point is that all people and their bodies are different, just because your Grandfather developed an immunity to alcohol doesn't mean everyone else will.

I know of 2 people as young as 15 that both have heart problems (one had a near death experience) from smoking, and i know a 60 year old that smokes both marijuana and cigarettes and has no health problems at all.

Even though all of those examples don't have anything to do with alcohol i know that the same rules apply because I hear of people all the time that have suffered health problems from it, but the real problem with alcohol is that it makes most people do crazy and recklace things, not because it makes some people sick.

Once again i agree.
holy carp do you get smart at night or something?

during the day you're this bumbling Mary Jane fool, now you're coherent

Lol, I only call it marry J, because thats what we call it where i'm from, and yes sometimes i do get smarter after dark (not that i'm not smart in the day) because thats the time i just sit and think about things, it's the main cause to my insomnia.
Train Wrote:This is a little off topic, but I'm sick of people bashing alcohol.
This pisses me the carp off for some reason.

So your one example of an alcoholic recovering, and making it out relatively unscathed is suppose to mean anything? I've had relatives and friends destroyed by alcohol. You could tell a million stories about an alcoholic coming out unscathed, but that wouldn't change the fact that the other end of the spectrum still exists where people die, and lives are ruined by it.

Not only have I had personal experiences with it destroying people, but everytime you turn on the news, or open up a newspaper, you hear about some drunk driver killing some one. You hear stories of families wrecked by alcoholism.

Drinking is fine, and plenty of people do it without negative effects, but you can't spout out one example of a person doing well after being addicted to alcohol, and expect it to make what alcohol does to certain individuals any less complaint worthy. That's just ludicrous.

hey so carp you you ignorant carp

The introduction of alcohol to the aboriginal populations where I grew up almost single handedly destroyed their culture and sense of pride and carp over thousands of people for generations and generations and i am honestly too furious with you to continue
Agreeing with Synesthasia and AnnieDuck. :-/
My grandfather's alcoholism is pretty much the cause of all of the problems I've had with my relatives on my Mother's side of the family, not to mention the difficulties I've had with her.
