Which is a bit scary to think about considering that the code's date would imply that it was made in 2010, which means that mid fakes could have been around as early as Metal Fusion.

Makes me wonder how many of these slipped past under the radar in tournaments since nobody knew about these til recently.

I assume the reason the midfakes slip passed us because they are too unnoticeable when they have been used. From my point of view, the midfakes look similar to a used genuine bey. A friend of mine had some comparisons with a midfake Flash Saggitario and the Authentic Flash Saggitario. The two clear wheel seem to use a different kind of plastic; the midfakes using just a plain translucent plastic; the authentic using a glitter translucent plastic. The one thing that is extremely hard to tell has to be the track and tip.
Hi everyone, I made some metal fight beyblade content on TikTok on a whim and my account really picked up traction. The most common question I get asked is about where to find metal fight beyblades. I published a video answering it and included how to legit check beys the same way I knew how to in 2012, with the takara logo. I've issued a correction on this since I newly learned about the problem of midfakes and how the old method of legit-checking is outdated. I'd like for you guys to check it out, and I'm open to criticism of course. I tried to be as accurate as possible, and I left a few comments under it providing more info.

I'm honestly wondering how on earth we get around the midfake problem. Seems like it can only get worse the longer they're out of production.

Here is my correction video (it is on the account from 5/18/21 if this link doesn't work):

Is lightning l drago with the code K2410 fake and is dark wolf with a code of I2614 is that fake
Found these on EBay and was wondering if anyone knew if they are legit. The seller claims they were made in 2010 which seems correct and while the seller is based in China these were produced in China so that could explain that. Can’t find legit metal fight bets anywhere anymore and I’ve been burnt on TT midfakes before but never hasbro. Thoughts?

As far as i know this midfakes only exist for Takara Tomy. Therefore this Hasbro-Bey is fine. Also the advertisement looks good.
I placed beybladed from aliexpress and asked for code
and seller replied

hi friend,

i have a suggestion if you have doubts about the bottom code, I kindly suggest please don't purchase.
because we also have a few people have doubts about that.
but if you want to know the code, I can tell you after I check at warehouse.

this means don't buy

From the samples that I've seen online and personally bought, I'm fairly certain these are authentic Hasbro products and old factory samples. Some of the XTS Beys I've bought have come with the factory quality control cards still attached, and they're identical to ones found on Battle B-Daman products produced a few years prior.

I did a bit of digging and research into these Hasbro listings, and it appears they're being sold out of Hong Kong by a store named "Toy Hunters". They also have listings on AliExpress as well. The production codes match up and the quality is identical to older Hasbro products. Unlike the Takara Tomy midfakes, which are always sold brand new and in literal truckloads of pallets (~thousands), these ones have very limited supply (less than a hundred) and are always dirty and broken boxes.
All of this Midfake stuff has been making me paranoid of my burst stuff I've been checking all of my boxes and my lost longinus Takara tomy ofc has e2518 if it's true that the last 2 numbers of the code mean year of manufacture than that would make this bey 2 years late which is worrying me. Does anyone here have a lost longings box that they could check and tell me if they also have this code.
Are the SEA (south east asian) beyblades considered midfake or can you use them in a tournament? I have heard they are lower quality.
My friend has a midfake Fang Leone that came with a die cast WB tip and it's in great condition rn. He's gonna show me it soon and I'm gonna lead test it for him
I have a lightning L drago and Gravity perseus, L Drago with the code k2410 and Gravity perseus with the code D2211. Are these midfakes? Not sure how to really tell lol
I just found out that most of my Metal Fight collection are midfakes, and tbh I already knew some of them are. But the fact that they can contain lead just concerns me, and it sucks too! I now don't know what to do with the 50ish parts I have lying around and I don't want to just throw them out. But I also don't want to put my friends and myself at risk. I'm considering getting lead testers but even if most of the parts don't contain lead its the fact that there still fake, and I don't know if fake parts are permitted in tournaments. (I don't think they are but I could be wrong) Meaning I would need to hunt down for original parts or beys which can be expensive to buy online and rare to find at flee markets or garage sales. I just don't know what to do.
hey, i have a question. what do the numbers on the codes represent? do they represent the year the bey was made? if so, it would certainly my earth aquila bey a mid fake, as his code is A0714, wich is a bit weird, considering this bey was lauched in 2009

also, is there a way to know if a bey is a midfake or not before buying the bey? like, in the product pics or something?
Does anyone know a place where I can buy legit takara tomy metal fight beys

Or contacting the manufacturer with the date code on the product and asking them if it was theirs or not as they will have a record of it.

The 2013 date code seems fishy to me if there are a large number of products with the same code as it would be unlikely that quantity of parts could be made or packed and labelled in such short time, also if you wanted to imitate another product potentially a fee years after it was discontinued you'd look into things like date codes of the original products and copy them. I have seen grey imports (I think that's the term used) in other products where often the boxes then get a security seal of some type to say the contents inside are genuine, or a distributor sticker to show it originated from a particular distributor that knows the product came from the correct supplier.
Yeah idk how stuff like this world but if someone with the power to do this should suggest creating a page of legitimate and fake codes to look out for on Beyblades. It would be an extremely helpful recourse for the community and anyone interested in purchasing Beyblades.

if someone made this, could you send the link? i would want to check that out

I have one that came without the box and I don't know if it's midfake or not. It's the a Samurai Revizer
I've been told that none of the boosters have had midfakes made, but I can't tell with mine

wait i got a vulcan horuseus with the A0813 code on it, and a libra booster too

are sets fine? i've been looking forward to the Portal 0 stamina and defense set, i wanted to know if those were mid fakes too
good lord, I remember a few years ago I got a Midfake Revive Phoenix, not even 1 battle and it shattered into pieces, I should've seen it cause the box was beat to hell

Last I knew midfakes we're a Metal Fight Beyblade thing, and didn't apply to Burst. This sounds like you just got a true fake.
oh, well that goods cause if they start happening to Burst that ain't gonna be fun
midfakes can be hasbro too
That depends on how you define the word "midfake". There have been no Hasbro look-a-likes or fakes with the same quality as the TT "A0813" midfakes. There are just those awful Hasbro fakes from several years ago that haven't popped up online in a long time: https://youtu.be/E-AdpOGYM5Q
how can we know the midfakes are actually fakes and not some manufacturing error by takara? do we even know who the heck is behind all this?
So I found out about the “midfake” conspiracy a few days ago and learned that I also had a bunch of alleged “midfakes”
I personally don’t believe they’re fake beys. Some definitely have slight differences to their counterpart but Everything else just doesn’t point to them being knock-offs.
