What is the difference between resonance and flare? Are they the same thing or not? I think flare is the aura around a fired-up blader, but that is originally what I thought resonance was. Plz help, I'm so confused!

I think it's similar to top and bey they're both reffer to the same thing

Just the special gimmick I guess. Flare is described as a type of resonance that could burn everything to the ground, like an intense fiery spirit. Probably just a way to say that Lane is like other people who've gone down the wrong path, and it could destroy everything around them, including themselves.

I think that flare is more of a character getting hyped up and resonance is a bladers bond with their bey. Now the reason why Aiga could win so much in Cho-z is because of his massive resonance, this is not because people are born with higher resonance, but rather because Achilles was a role model for Aiga as shown by the first episode. Flare on the other hand is something that Lane was born with since it is more of a personality rather than a resonance.
