What are your thoughts on Sparking so far? It could be character development, plot, the legends, etc. How do you think it compares to other seasons?
I think it’s an amazing season that definitely redeems what we lost in s3 and 4. I feel like it combines multiple aspects and elements that fans wanted to return all while adding new and exciting elements as well. For example they bring back old fan favourite characters from all seasons to benefit every different fan of burst and they also bring back the unpredictability of battles which we haven’t  seen executed this well since s1, two major things fans wanted back; this is a good utilization of fan service. As I said, they also bring in some new elements such as the concept of two different minded brothers being the protagonists and the additional concept of having the protagonist and antagonist be naturally raw powered rookies as opposed to slow learning newbies, something that has seen mixed but ultimately positive opinions atleast from what I have seen. I think the only thing Sparking really needs to surpass s1 is a plot twist. Perhaps one brother will turn evil, perhaps Lane and Hyuga will work together perhaps etc... All in all I am very happy with this season and I am enjoying watching it as opposed to my late experience with the later half of gt.
A masterpiece, it's perfect. I feel satisfied with every episode.
Bad side: Predictable battles, Lane has big plot armour, not enough returning characters, some legends aren't done justice.
My main concern with Sparking is Hikaru's development. He started off well, and even got Valt serious during episode 1, but then went downhill after he battled Lui.

Well I’m sorry your experience isn’t great but from what I have seen a lot of the battles a very unpredictable particularly most battle that don’t include Lane. I would go as far to say that the battles this season are only any less unpredictable than s1 and a lot more unpredictable that the rest.
so far I like it they only thing I regret is that,  they didn't get a full 24m which would've brought the rest of the 15 legends and it would've either put 2 new or use the top 5 A tier bladers.  make a 4 group stage with 5 bladers each top 2 of each qualified than we get top 8  , top 4 than of course the finals that would've make this season godly . but that aside it's a fun season I like it probably will be my top 3 at the end.  my only issue would be lane just a bit not by much.
From what I’ve seen battles are very predictable and Lane is extremely over powered. Also they seem to be doing some supposedly “Legendary bladers” very dirty.
I like the season. Sure Hyuga and Hikaru are kinda like copies here and there, but the fact that we jave both of them balances it out for me. The protags don't really have too much plot armor this time around, but Lane is kinda peaking over the edge. He still is kinda cool imo. The season will get better especially as more episodes like the upcoming 24th ep appear. Like, legends battling each other for real.
I've enjoyed the season thus far, I do have some things I'd tweak a bit. But all in all I think it's a solid season. For me, I really need to examine it as a whole in order to give it a true assessment. How they handle the characters going forward is something I'll be paying keen attention to. But as I said so far I'm enjoying it.

Just because some of the legends lost a battle or two, doesn't mean they have been mistreated. I actually think they have been handled very well. Valt has been treated very well so far, Aiga got his spotlight with the whole "world champion" thing. He also beat Lane and inspired Hikaru. Rantaro is FINALLY taken seriously by other bladers. Free has been handled pretty well. He beat the brothers four times, and only lost to Hikaru at the end because of Valt's help. I think Sisco, Lui, and Drum need a bit more of the spotlight. Sisco should be getting it next episode with his new move, and Lui and Drum will probably get more attention in the next couple of battles, especially with the one on one rounds.

I actually don't put much stock in that whole "world champion" thing. Aiga was never introduced as such during the blader introductions of the festival or when he was called to battle during the tag battle. It's also not in his bio. It seems more like an off the cuff remarke than anything concrete. But I do agree that he's gotten some time to shine. I hope Dante gets a real opportunity to tear up the stadium as well. So far a solid season.

Yeah, I feel like the world champion thing was epicly downplayed on. Probably because they're sticking with the 'everyone is somewhat equal' montra. I say somewhat cause there's gonna be defining moments that shows otherwise, like maybe in the upcoming episode 24.

Yeah. It doesn't feel official to me. They would have announced it when they introduced him at the beginning of the festival but they didn't. Same thing when he was called for his battle. Everyone is legendary bladers and are about on par with each other aside from Valt who stands above the rest of the legends as the strongest among them. Actually, when you examine the series, the only blader they've portrayed as being a cut above the rest is Valt. You can see it in the episode openings, the bio, even when they introduced Valt at the start of the festival, they called him the Legend of Legends.

By that I mean other legends get a lot of spotlight while others just get 1-2 episodes.

Honestly in my opinion, aside from battles that include Lane, most of the battles are not very predictable at all. This season arguable has the most unpredictable battles second only to s1. s4 was completely predictable and after the battle with Ghasem’s team/snake pit, so was s2. s3 was a mix but ultimately got very predictable towards the end.

Ya. I see what you're talking about. It's not very official. They mainly discussed it to show why Hikaru likes Aiga so much. It also gives Aiga a little more attention, like I said before.

I think he's just another legend along with the others. The only place where you can really find where the legends are ranked is the manga, and Aiga is ranked 3rd.

Acho que ele é apenas mais uma lenda junto com os outros. O único lugar onde você pode realmente encontrar onde as lendas são classificadas é no mangá, e Aiga está em 3º lugar.

this is a classification not a title, on the official website of the anime in the description of the episode talks about the world champion and the new generation make a pair this refers to Aiga and Hikaru

They're handling things very strangely this season. You'd think Information like that would be in his bio, but it's not. He's not introduced as such during his battles or even when he was officially Introduced at the beginning of the festival. It's all very strange.

The anime still brushed it off though tbh. Usually the world champion title is way more hyped, but Rantaro was just like, Aiga is the champion. Not even Senor Hanami called Aiga the champion, which is kinda weird. As always says, the anime really likes to keep everyone as equal though the emphasis on Valt is probably since he's the first main character.
Exactly. If we really want to see where people are ranked, the only place to really go, is the manga.
I think the main reason why Aiga being the champion is brushed aside apart from the idea that he is no longer a key/main character is primarily the fact that being the champion is a title and not a rank. A title is either earned or given to someone but a rank is something that you must climb and ascend through in order to get to the top therefore making ranks more prestigious and since Aiga is already in the legend rank which is the highest standard in the anime/manga, I guess they hold him in higher regard based on that because it’s a lot more of a big deal.
That's an interesting take on it.
