Full Version: Thinking about getting into TT Beys instead of buying HyperSpheres

Hello, I’m new to the Beyblade burst world and I’ve bought about 18 Hasbro Beyblades so far. I’m thinking I’m going to skip the HyperSphere tops and start buying some TT Beys because the Hypersheres are just so plain and ugly imo Just wanted to know everyone’s opinions on Hypersphere and if you think they are worth it? Also, can you mix and match Hasbro and TT parts?

Hello! Welcome to the WBO!
Hasbro hypersphere isn't exactly worth it competitive wise. Some of the drivers are good, but the layers and disks don't cut it.
You are allowed to mix Hasbro and TT disks, but you can't put a TT driver on on a Hasbro layer and vice versa.
I hope this answers your questions! Smile

In a tournament, I still put hasbro tips on tt beys. Also I think you should get Venom Devolos D5 and Cosmic Kraken K5, for opposite spin and same spin respectively.

If you’re doing that in WBO tournaments, that is illegal and can get you disqualified from tournaments.

I meant if they aren't in a tournament, at home

Actually, once you do that to your layers, those layers cannot be used at a tournament, ever; they have been damaged in such a way that they might have extra unwarranted burst resistance. So if you do attend a tournament? We're going to take a very close look at any Hasbro layers you might attempt to use.

For anyone else: Don't do that with with your tips and layers.

Don't. TT and hasbro beys aren't compatible.

I think some hypersphere drivers are really solid, but if you want to get good, stick with stuff like turbo Spryzen. If you get turbo Spryzen and turbo Achilles, you actually have a top tier hasbro combo right there and Ab-S from geist is probably the best pure stamina driver in the game for Hasbro. Alternatively, you should switch to TT.

what we are talking about is the fact that this is not allowed in official wbo tournaments

either way TT tips on hasbro layers or hasbro tips of TT layers aren't allowed at tournaments, like crab said those parts would be illegal.
It’s really pretty simple, and I think most of the prior comments have already painted the picture but...

Competitive: Takara Tomy
Fun: Hasbro

Keep in mind there is some Hasbro stuff that’s still competitive but your options are much more limited & you can pretty much kiss Attack combos goodbye.

(This is in regards to Burst Standard. In Burst Classic Hasbro is fine)

Hasbro Hypersphere stuff is pretty cheap tho, I’ve seen beys for as little as $7 at Walmart/Target. So you can always pick up a few and get a cheap hypersphere stadium for $9.99 and have some fun.
I currently have a few HyperSpheres and we got the stadium too. It’s alright, but they just seem so bland and boring to me. I’m at the point where I pretty much have all the Hasbro beyblades I can currently buy at the store that aren’t Hypersphere. So if I want to expand my collection I need to start buying online. There’s a few Hasbro Beyblades I got my eye on at the moment, but I think I might buy a TT first and see how I feel about it.

My sons had some Hasbros which they enjoyed.  They got me to play with them, we had fun, so I did a bit of research and like you, found this site and TT stuff.  I put in an order for a couple of TT beys each and the TT beystadium.  Since then, we've accumulated close to 70 TT beys and 2 hypersphere, if that helps put it in perspective, heh.

I'd also recommend getting some good TT string launchers as well, since you can use those for all your beys and they make a difference.

Kind of a similar situation with me. My son is 7 months old and we were looking at the toy isle when I spotted some Beyblades. I played with the originals as a kid so I had to grab a few and now I’m kind of obsessed. Didn’t expect to go toy shopping for my son and come home with toys for myself 😂 I’m going to do some research and see what TT bey I should order first and I was also looking into those cool string launchers so that’ll happen eventually. I guess my question now is what are some good TT Beys to start out with?

Heh, as a dad, you are given license to relive your youth vicariously through your sons. One of the perks.

Since he's young and not attached to any of the characters, you can economize. It will depend on where you are looking and what is available from them at this point. There are a few threads related to where to buy beyblades with more details. Being from the US, you have a good many options. I'm in Canada, so I've been using amazon.jp since Covid as they ship DHL very quickly.

As far as beys: from GT: Judgment Joker for his layer, Master Diabolos, the 3 bey customization set including Lord Spriggan is a good place to start. Master comes with a good L/R string launcher as well. The new superking beys have a new unique chassis system. I'd go ahead on any of these, but Brave Valkyrie & Mirage Fafnir are my favs so far. If you grab the latest Random Booster complete set (vol.20) you'll get 8 beys for a decent price, mix of GT and superking.

Personally, I think this discussion has gone a separate way. I think TT beys are the way to go

Yeah I think I’ve come to the conclusion to just start buying TT Beys haha. Thanks for the input!
