Full Version: Why Is Beyblade Looked Down Upon by people

I have a serious question, why is Beyblade looked down upon by some women. For example, let’s say you are are dating a girl/guy. And you tell them that your Beyblade and they would think you are weird. It’s happened to buddies of mines, and my question is, why is it such a turn off sometime. A girl/guy can be happy in a relationship and find out that you’ll are a blader, and they might think your weird?
My experience: Girls are interested in guys doing sports, reading books, cooking and traveling.

If You play video games, collect Star Wars miniatures, are a trekkie... or a Beyblader: Do not tell her before she married You ;-)
People think it is for kids smh
I have a friend who's a girl and she likes Beyblade, tho she doesn't have much a collection she does come over to my house and we just battle it out until morning, the point is there are females out there who enjoy Beyblade

I’m a girl and I am a really big Star Wars fan, I play beyblade, and video games. That isn’t true for everyone, I’ve definitely seen it happen with both genders.
This thread needs to be tweaked a little bit. Most people who don't play beyblade find it very weird. I don't know why, but it can get annoying sometimes. I don't see why gender matters here.

well lets just say that beyblade has been targeted for boys more than girls so i would say girls would not like it as much
Hoi guys this isn't the "Is Beyblade Sexist" thread, I already made one Smile

Even if more boys like it, there are plenty of girls that like it too.

Completely untrue. I'm just going to come out with it: It is targeted more towards children. Does that mean that adults can't enjoy it? Of course not! it's for everyone to enjoy.
I see this kind of situation getting out of hand. Lets stop with this.

I think it’s different. I’m not sure at this point.

Yeah but not a lot sadly, therefore why there haven't been any females with their own beyblade. Seriously though discuss this in the Is Beyblade Sexist thread

Dude I get discriminated at school because of beyblade burst but not too extremely.

Oddly enough, I’ve met more boys that don’t like beyblade than girls.
This thread is becoming an absolute mess. , when you get the chance, can you please stop this?

Yeah. I don’t really think this thread is going anywhere.

lol it hasn't even been an hour yet

well lets go back on topic i think it is because most of the popular kids don't play it "at least in my school" so that is probably one of the most common reasons
another would be that burst is "at least to me" a step down from metals, not that i don't like burst cause i love it but metals are better than burst

What's that supposed to mean? Are you implying that I should wait an hour and let this get even worse before asking a mod to stop this?
This isn't cool.

Stop what, I don't see the problem?
I think a big part of it is from the lack of quality in the past anime. I have a friend who adamantly refuses to play Beyblade because of this, however when he hangs out and we're all playing his eyes are glued to the arena. One day we'll break him, he admits some of beys look incredible. But on that same issue, I watched a random episode of G-Revolution that was uploaded two days ago. If I had watched that growing up, I'd have less respect for Beyblade today. I'm glad GT was the first anime I watched in regards to Beyblade.
Beyblade is looked down apon for many reasons, it is childish and meant for kids, or they may take it a nerdy, and a part of society frowns apon people who like nerdy or childish things.

That is completely false. If that’s the case, then why are SMBU, or Pokémon TCG/video games so popular?

Cause a lot of people were kids and these were the first of their kind almost. Also people seem to think it does not live up to metal fight and previous seasons, which I disagree about.
Alright, well, I'm really done with the casual misogyny in this thread. There's enough borderline rules violations here to close it. A lot of the assumptions and generalizations are gross. You immediately turned it into a gender thing, and not only is that problematic, but it's incorrect.

Not issuing any warnings at this point, but I really ought to.

Don't do this again, Javari.

This is an entirely different thread than "Is Beyblade Sexist" in the Anime and Manga subforum, it's about the game outside of the anime and manga.

There are girls and women who play Beyblade. There are people who identify outside the gender norms who play Beyblade. Beyblade can be enjoyed by many people.

If you don't think there are enough, then it's because most people have done a bad job of making Beyblade an inclusive space.

And on that note, I'm closing this disaster of a thread.
