Comparison of Mobius and Bearing.

Amazingly, Mobius seems it may be better for opposite spin than Bearing. Not too surprising though given that it is flatter. And in same spin it's worse than Bearing. A nice trade off, I think.

That's insane considering just how bad Bearing in same spin already is. Honestly I expected this to end up completely the other way.
First impressions over Variant Lucifer .Mb 2D as a whole and, as expected it's stock combo is really bad. Stock combos tend to be bad anyway, but 2D doesn't seem useful. Variant feels like nothing special, and is surprising quite light. It's like the Quest driver, but the beyblade in a sense, both Quest and Variant Lucifer .Mb 2D have good defense, but literally nothing else.

However it is good to see Mb so far showing promise for opposite spin at least.

I will buy it though, it is a gorgeous beyblade and I usually love stock combos that are interestingly bad.
I'll be interested to see 2D on Drivers other than Mobius. Part of what makes it so bad right now–especially in same spin battles–is that the opposing attack types drain its stamina so quickly because of the poor same spin performance of Mobius. Feels like there was just as many OSes for attack types against 2D.Mb as there was KOs in some of the videos I've watched.
Variant Lucifer without its barriers. It actually performs a bit better without the barriers.

Im not surprised considering that the chassis gimmick is what causes it to not perform well( loses a lot of stamina due to this gimmick) the chassis well most likely only do well in opposite spin rotation battles. Also it seems that the superring has a really round shape and Mobius has alot of lad which allows it to perform ok against beys with 2D Chassis and hopefully better without the chassis
I follow a guy that did Curse Lucifer Universe 2D, it seems ok but I can't translate and don't know if the combos used against are competitive

No the combos used are not competitive.... I would say the only tuing here that is meta would be the super ring and the 2A and Cursed layer imo.if left something out or am wrong plz quote me
It seems to be a 50/50 beyblade.
I can't wait to awaken 2D legally lol

I show off the Rare Chassis and also do fun battles with First Uranus against Lucifer with 2D

2D seems effective against opp spin but same spin it pretty much is really UHHH

Fun release and happy we get an awesome sparking launcher!
It’s so cool to see the gimmick work in action, even if it’s against right it might not be the best, it’s cool to see “is my Beyblade powerful enough to break through and win” Solid Release in terms of fun, I don’t see many people using this unless they are going against left or have it awoken, whatever you want to call it. Makes me thing what other chassis gimmicks they can come up with, imagine Phoenix, it’s like a 2 layer double chassis, and 1 layer comes off in battle just like the ring. Not sure how it would work but would still be cool.
Did some initial testing last night and realized that it might take some finessing to find a competitive fit for most of the parts from this release. Something not immediately obvious is part of 2D's gimmick is reliant on Mb being tall enough to raise the low resting rubber barrier high enough to have an effect. Even Br isn't quite as tall, exposing the ring to more contact. Putting Xt+ on 2D made it into a 'low-rider'. Xt+ is so much shorter than Mb that the shield was underneath most bays and had no effect.

Mb is an interesting driver, but it's stamina so far doesn't seem super considering it's free-spinning nature. I feel like there is potential for all of these parts somehow, but stock is simply 'good'. Mirage Faf 2S Xt+ beats stock Lucifer every time in opposite spin and my personal fav Curse Hyperion.Wh.Un annihilates every time in same spin, so this isn't a meta changer out of the box like Rage, but it's fun and unique and I look forward to finding some cool combos from it.

UPDATE: Funny thing I found - Naked Spriggan Paradox free spins +/- 1:40 w/Br and 1:45 with Mb, so Mb seems an uptick to Br in that regard. OTOH, Br on Lucifer 2D is +/- 1:15 vs Mb @ 1:05. So switching Br over to Lucifer and Mb over to my Naked Spriggan build was mutually beneficial. Funny. Net take away after this simple testing was that away from 2D, Br shows more of it's stamina potential. You can hear the air resistance against the shield hissing at first launch, no way to avoid reality there, but Br helps a bit. At least my copy.
Ngl, this was way too hyped to actually be useful in stock form.

From my testings, VLc.Mb 2D suffers from major stamina loss thanks to the rubber tongues making too much air resistance for Mobius to be really effective. The Driver isn't really so bad as long as its against opposite spin.

Variant is also easily damaged especially by things like Rage and Zwei. Putting it on a Single Chassis is probably going to do more harm than good.

2D itself sucks badly ironically because of its gimmick. Awakening it (aka legally letting the tongues get cut off) might make it more useful, but I haven't tested that far yet.

Looks like awakened Variant Lucifer looks to be a monster. His previous video shows him naturally wearing it down if you're interested.

Edit: Sorry, kinda new to posts. Embedding isn't working on my end so I'll leave the link instead.
Just got Lucifer and Uranus.

funny, so it seems to be much more powerful without the blade gimmick....
soooo is it really meant to eventually wear off/break off the blades/flower petals? like, Takara Tomy wanted them to intentionally fall off at some point?

Yeah it's intended to eventually wear since it's mentioned in the included instructions that come with the box. There's even a before and after picture.
im interested if the anime will show this same "awakening gimmick"

That would be kinda cool and interesting but to me it just seems like an excuse for the wearing of the parts. The fact that the whole “awakening” thing was hardly advertised and appears in the instruction manual of all places kind of solidifies my beliefs.

well tbh yes its obviously an excuse. however it does seem cool and in real life too it improves the performance of the bey

What improves a bey in real life need not apply to the anime, especially when the barrier is its big strength there.

Well they could pull of a S1 here and show that the barrier less variant is much stronger ( like valt and his variable driver)

The thing with Variable (and Evolution as well as its cousin) is that it was specifically meant to speed up as it wears down. Wearing down to get better is specifically their purpose. 2D may wear, but wearing down isn't the point behind it at all, unlike those two drivers. Though it may be stronger without the rubber IRL, I find it difficult to believe that they'll just drop that in the Anime. 2D's whole purpose is its guard. Take that away and the whole bey is just a lot less flashy, and it loses what's touted to be its biggest strength in the show.

And if they awake the barrier would that mean the chassis got de upgraded back to its original form in the anime when lean still uses uranus but manga case it could happened
Would’ve just been better if some how you could remove the
Rubber and attach it.
