will still be submitting a spreadsheet, but it won’t have the results themselves on it.

Unfortunately, the participants in this event were not seeded at all ... so in accordance with our rules for Organized Play, we are not going to be able to process this event into the rankings. The winners will still be granted Gold, Silver, and Bronze Bits though!

Ahh shoot I got a flawless on that tournament until the finals, well congrats to the 1st-3rd winners again and them getting those bits.

Yeah, and I finally got first place after who knows how long. That's so many potential points down the drain lol. Guess I'll have to deal with being taken over by everyone that doing well in the US. Doesn't help ether that there's been no sight or mention of tourneys in Canada for over a month. I guess my luck for first place isn't the best. I I barley got anything from my win in July in Barrie because of the bracket being seeded improperly, and now I get zippo for what whould almost get me to 1700BR . I don't usually get upset over my rank placement, but It's just a bummer when you have to realize what you worked hard for was all for just a Bit. This isn't justI for me, I feel this for everyone who played in the tournament. I'm just upset that no one could have gotten there points. But hey, there's always next time! Grin

Yeah, it suck when you try hard in a tournament, and get high ranks, then nothing happens for part or all of it. At least you still got a prize!

Yeah, you can see it right here, the seeding appears to be totally random:
https://worldbeyblade.challonge.com/beyb...rticipants

For those people wondering why it's an issue: When you seed a non-single-group-round-robin tournament completely randomly, then the matchups are all wrong. In this case it was Double Elimination, so it matters a lot. People who are lower seeded might have an unexpectedly easier time getting through double elimination, or people who are higher seeded might have an easier time. The randomness leads to matchup issues, where higher skilled people might incur losses before they're expected to because they suddenly face only other higher skilled people, or lower skilled people accrue extra wins because all of their matches are against other lower skilled people.

It's weird though because the account that set this one up is listed as WBOKei. I can only assume someone else did the setup using your account.

Yeah, it's really unfortunate. I feel for you ... I wasn't even there and I was upset when I saw what had happened. Unhappy Although it should have been caught, it was an honest mistake at a big tournament and from what I've heard Jesse and everyone did a great job with everything else so I am really thankful to everyone for that! We'll learn from this and make sure it doesn't happen again.

I've been away in Japan for over two months and not really in a position to plan our local events (hence getting Jesse's help for this one), but we are definitely talking about doing another one soon. Probably in April at this point. And I have also been planning Anime North behind-the-scenes; details for that should be up soon.

I set up the tournament on Challonge initially because I was handling the posting of the thread for Jesse so he just had to worry about answering any inquiries and then hosting the event itself. The bracket/participants list itself was managed by the team at the event.
Oof. I might have to become an organizer early if April is what we're looking at the earliest lol.

Not everyone always has time to organize events, so the more Organizers the merrier! Smile
