It would be really out of character for him to turn evil.

I agree with this wholeheartedly!! Like, Valt's always been opposed to the idea of breaking beys and even dark resonance in CHOU-Z, why... why would he suddenly go to it when he's seen it almost mess his best friend up permanently. Like, Valt's one of the sweetest characters in the show-- and while he does get stressed out and frustrated from time to time, he honestly apologizes if he's hurt anyone or put unnecessary pressure on them-- ex. Kensuke and Daina. He wasn't even mad or hateful towards Shu after everything his friend did, nor was he even angry by Aiga for anything the kid did-- like Valt forgives these people easily. He's like one of the most positive characters on the show... how and... why would he become evil? Like I'm with #yukenta that Valt's a literal angel, but this topic comes up so much-- so I sometimes have difficulty taking it as a possibility-- it kind of seems more like fanfiction to me.... Alternate Universe maybe??
The three of you, RELAX. He brought up the question. Back in season 1, we'd never thought Shu would hate losing so badly that he'd join a organization, go around breaking people's beys, and under go something insane as the Requiem Project.
Oh god I'm going to wake up getting you all mad at me....but I thought of a way to work: THE REQUIEM PROJECT.
Based on the Reqiuem Project, the wiki, the show, and interpretations: the requiem projects involves the users desire to win by imagining the players that they either have the closest connection or have the strongest desire to win. Then the user becomes possessed by their Bey spirit/avatar/persona/stand/mythologic beast/Resonance aibo/stop me lol.
Now naturally, Valt wouldn't undergo this unless under certain conditions but if we use Shu as a model to what drove him of all people to become Red Eye and later the progect (losing to Free, being reminded of his loss to Lui, not keeping his promise to Valt, going through the Snake Pit's training and forging a new identity, murdering beys like Garuda presumably more than just him, and having all that effort to beat Lui go to nothing) and Valt's flaws:
1) He would do anything if his family was in danger or any risk, not dub (you know what edited dialouge I'm talking about)
2) gulliable
3) The pressure he had as the quasi leader of BC Sol between the match against Top Wand (Cuza's team/episode 9 of God) and AC Gallus (episode 12-13) ish....imagine if he lost against AC Gallus, and got his team kicked out of the World League, that might actually crush him.
Now
1) if he was forced to do so by someone that wanted him to test the Requiem Project...say I don't know, Norman finding the lab and wanted someone to get revenge on Shu or something, he could've kidnapped Toko and Nika and told Valt to get in the machine or else.
2) Valt's gotten himself into dumber.
3) Something that could happen sometime in Valt's future career, lets keep ChoZ, GT, and God away from this.
So what would be the trigger for Valt if Shu's motivation was pride and lust for upholding his promise ish, strength to beat Lui and Free. Well for Valt... how about joy.
This part is gonna get tricky to explain: how would you use joy as a evil motivation. Sorry for the reference, apparently I'm not aloud to do that, but whatever: Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (the sentai season we adapted in Power Rangers Dino Charge), the villains in that show wanted to revive their boss by gathering a large sum of three forms of human emotions: anger, saddness and happiness. Go with it. The female villain's the one in charge of happiness so her method of doing so is actually fake happiness: a temporary short term happiness that proves disastrous in the long run…hence why the heroes have to stop her.
So what does that have to do with anything? Well Valt's winning record and his characterization is about four things: his trust with Valkyire, having joy in giving it his all in his battles, facing off against opponents giving it his all just like he is, and not letting more negative emotions cloud his judgement. So if the Requiem project focuses on his desire for joy, theoretically, he could become an evil version of himself motivated by a twisted sense of joy:
desiring to destroy his opponents and push them to struggle to improve at the cost of his own sanity, taking Valt's fun for beyblade into a sadist form. At least that's one way.
Sorry for making it too long, I know this sounds incredibly stupid but hey let's just try to respect people having their own opinions. After tonight, that definitely won't be the case, but hey, I'm aiming to be a creative writer, its what I do.
