Words posted on the website and photos taken at our events are a huge part of what enables us to look back fondly on the past ten years of the World Beyblade Organization, but another aspect which has also been a silent–but ever-present–factor is the various elements of graphic design throughout the website and in the real world at our events. They have helped to shape how we view and feel about the WBO and everything we do.
With 2018 being the WBO’s 10th anniversary, the timing seemed perfect to put together a visual history of the WBO focusing on much of the design done over the years by our staff members.
A 4-Part Series
This archive will be split into four parts:
- 2008 – 2011 (View Here)
- 2012 – 2015 (View Here)
- 2016 – 2018 (View Here)
- Special Projects: 2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018 – Never Before Seen Material (View Below!)
What's Included?
Throughout each part you can expect to see an overview of basically everything ever designed by staff members for the WBO:
In some cases where there was multiple variations of a particular design we didn’t include them all, but essentially everything is represented.
- Logos
- Old theme screenshots
- WIP theme screenshots
- T-shirts
- Banners
- Posters
- Promo cards
- And more!
If you've designed something for the WBO (as in an official event or perhaps a local WBO team) that isn't included here (we focused primarily on staff contributed design), please feel free to post it in the applicable thread based on the year it was designed. We'd love to see it!
Questions About a Specific Piece? Post them!
It would be impossible for us to comment on every single piece featured, so if you have any questions about one specifically, please feel free to ask.
Enjoy!
2010 : WBO Rebrand Concepts
Back in 2010 theflightyellz proposed some concepts for a WBO Rebrand. There was some opposition to this at the time, but generally speaking we did eventually agree that a change would be beneficial if we could find the right solution. We didn't end up agreeing to move forward with these concepts, but it's still very cool to look back at!

2012 : WBO World Championship Concepts
Back in 2011-2012 at the height of Metal Fight Beyblade's popularity, the WBO was in a position where it became within the realm of possibility to host a World Championship in some capacity. Sponsorship was needed and we created a prospectus to send out to potential sponsors, but it didn't ultimately end up working out. Instead, we decided to settle for something a little bit more attainable in 2013: the WBO North American Championship.

2015 : WBO Rebrand Concepts
With Beyblade Burst having launched in the summer of 2015 and a whole new generation of Beyblade fans on the way, it became clear to us that a rebrand for the WBO was long overdue. Thus, in August of 2015 we set out on this project. Initially, I was tasked with this and approached the project from a very abstract WBBA-esque direction. Eventually after much discussion, Bey Brad asked theflightyellz to produce some concepts and we ended up with what you see on the site today!
I still like the direction of my concepts personally (particularly the first set below and Round 3 #2 and #6), but am also happy with what we ended up with and see the value in it even though its more literal take on representing "Beyblade" in the logo is different from what my approach was. It has served us well!
There's also some very impressive additional concepts from theflightyellz below too.

2018 : WBO Foam Mats Concepts
Spoiler (Click to View)
I designed these concepts earlier this year hoping that we could have some custom foam mats created for use at our tournaments. Unfortunately, the quote I received from a company which does this work was astronomical ... haha. Maybe I'll revisit this another time and see if we can find a more affordable option. If anyone knows of any, feel free to suggest!
