What do you think of this so far? It's a work in progress:

I'm carrying on the usual Surrealist theme with my drawings; of course, it isn't supposed to look like the Seagull is actually wearing the helmet. They are two separate objects that have been merged together so it seems that at a glance, they are as one. The significance of this is that I wanted to create an illusion - will you take them as one or will you split them apart?

As for the significance of the bird and the helmet as individual objects... well, I like the viewer to try and figure out what my drawings symbolize. I don't really want to give too much away as I think art is highly personal. You may see things in this that I will never see, and vice versa.

Titles always come to me when the drawing is complete and when it becomes apparent what the drawing represents, but I always think it's fascinating to see pieces of art in-the-making... which is why I posted it here for others to look at if they're interested. :)

I'm not sure what else I'm going to do with it but I'm pleased with it so far! I'll make a new topic once I'm finished. *thumbs up*
hahaha cool.

athough some lines arent adding up, and the spike on top isn't quite right. I really like it.
for some reason it reminded me of monty python

Oh, which ones? Please tell me. :)
It looks very Monty python to me... I like it, but some surrealism is just too over my head for me to comment on.
wow, i missed this last week.

you're an amazing artist
Thanks Artie! <3

Ozuma: Looking at it now, it also reminds me of Monty Python LOL.
I love the birds you draw! Smile

lines/areas I mean are:

1- bottom of spike should finish in sight, otherwise despite appearing to be the center, it looks off or behind the highest point. I filled in to show how it should look to my eye.

2- that thing(??) coming down I assume should also have Be able to see) one on the other side of the beak, other wise the helmet would not be symetrical, which is out of place with the rest of its design. Or could get rid of it..? or maybe just explain what it is Wink

3- Its colored black, but maybe thats because of lighting right?
moreso is that given that its is curved, we should see a bit of that as if the inside. I dont have the right words to explain but I hope you understand get my drift.

don't think I'm harsh though, I do like it.
Thanks Blue! I really appreciate you taking the time to do that for me.

The spike on top: You're right! I will fix that, thanks for pointing it out. Smile

Number 2: I know what you mean and, if this were a factual drawing of a bird wearing a helmet, you'd be completely right. Although, as I said in my first post, it's not supposed to look like that. It's just a surreal drawing of two objects that when glanced at, looks like a seagull wearing a helmet. Think of it as a collage; the helmet has just been pasted on top. Also, the bit in the middle is the nose piece. It's basically a Corinthian model:

Number 3: Again, you're right. Smile I was aware of this however but, because this is an unfinished drawing, I still have plans as to what to do with this collage. It may end up being filled in to complete the helmet, or something else may be placed there.

Again, thank you! <3
Glad I could help ;]
