I have been hearing rumors that the molds of the Level Chips are very much different and perform differently. Is there really a difference in the Level Chips? If so, then which Level chips are better to buy that has the better mold?
Yes , there are some difference ( I can't tell , any MORE experienced member can tell you !! ) , A1 is the best ( I suppose )
They are already so light I can't imagine a slight difference being that noticeable, but I'm a noob so what do I know lol.
I've not heard a thing about different Level Chips performing differently. I have 4 completely different Level Chips, and when I can get around to comparing them, I can share the results. But I haven't heard anything from anyone else.

Not sure what their molds are though, but the molds are never intended to have one better than the other. We'll see in time, whoever gets to it first.

I think you're confusing them with God Chips. It's a popular claim that the A-molds are the best for God Chips, but it's more complicated than that. (Some may say A1 is always best for any mold in general, God Chip or otherwise, but that's inaccurate as well.)

For the A1 claim, for all we know, the A1 molds for everything are actually slightly defective in a good way, and the molds after that were made as corrections. Maybe the mold types' slightly different performance is actually completely coincidental!

You say that like the A1 claim is true, but it's not. A claim is something someone or some people say to be true (they "claim" it's true) but has not been proven to be. And for this claim, I'd say it's been proven to be wrong.

Many times, there's no noticeable difference between the molds. If any part is best with A1, it would be that particular part. So people claiming A1 is always best are just talking with no proof. Likely not intentional, as they may just be repeating someone else and didn't look further into it, or they may simply be misunderstanding the molds and think the lettering is something of significance when it's not.

If there are differences in molds A1, A2, etc., it is purely accidental. They're not separate releases, they come out at the same time. It's all mixed up.

My guess would be that, (as someone else pointed out) since they use 4 different number of stars to differentiate the disks, they may just make 4 of everything anyway. So, it ends up being a way to differentiate the parts. So you know your piece is A1 and so you can find it after a burst (which may or may not be intentional).

I am not sure what happens with the parts that get B and C, but I've not paid much attention to that. I know God Chips have gotten those.

I mean, the A claim believable for God Chips, but I used it as an example, like IF A molds are better, they might be a coincidence.

Which ones are the A molds?
