Haha, this is the most plausible explanation I've heard so far.

Oh yeah, because uncatchy unmemorable random characters are so much better right? I mean, they want to appeal to kids, and I'm sure random letters aren't appealing. I guess it's an understandable reason at least.

I can almost guarantee that kids will only care about the layer anyway.
Children are Hasbro's target audience, but parents are usually the ones spending the money. If Hasbro were to support a naming system like Takara-Tomy's for western, primarily English-speaking audiences, some parents would inevitably become offended by at least one of the possible three-letter abbreviations for a combination of parts to the spinning top toy their child is playing with. If the parents don't like the toy, they won't buy it for their kids; If they really don't like it, that could spell legal trouble for the manufacturer.

We should also keep in mind that since English is not the primarily-spoken language in Asia. While some of the three-letter abbreviations or words formed from the alphabets that represent them might be considered innapropriate or offensive by some westerners, the more high-risk abbreviations for a western audience likely won't mean anything or hold as strongly negative connotations to Takara-Tomy's primary audiences.

The parents thing is also probably why they got rid of teeth on the layers. As a parent myself, I wouldn't want to keep buying the same toys over and over because they keep wearing out.
Agreed, it's almost certain that Hasbro was very anxious about the Japanese release's durability issues and the complaints/recalls that could be associated with it.
For anyone wondering about the US. Specifically California, I just called three TRU stores near me and they all don't have burst in stock nor do they expect it anytime soon. Burst hasn't come up on the new shipment manifest either. Looks like we may have to wait until mid September or October. Also hello everyone I'm new to the community.
Welcome to the community! Looks like Canadians got lucky.
Hm, a thought: what if Hasbro never released Deathscyther Oval Accel because TAKARA-TOMY banned it/'enthroned it to the hall of fame'.

If Chaos gets released, then including Deathscyther there is an odd number of Beyblades to release in dual packs, which does not add up unless they just pair them with recolours of Beyblades already released. Unless I am forgetting some Beyblades.

In Metal Fight Beyblade, Hasbro never released the Metal Sytem Wheels anyway, only the Metal Wheel equivalent, Infinity, so there was never any chance of Libra getting produced worldwide despite the ban in Japan.
Dang it, I wish Burst will come to the u.s

It'll probably be here by christmas, I doubt hasbro would miss out on a beyblade relaunch during the holidays.
I live on the east coast and my tru stores are expecting burst mid September.

This crossed my mind the other day, but I think Deathscyther is already in their game...? So I'd think they would release it as well.

BTW, it looks like there are 16 Basic Layers that Hasbro could release if we include Chaos: http://beyblade.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_B...t_products

And while some of the Metal System's Wheels were superior to the Hybrid Wheels released by Hasbro up till that point, the biggest pitfall of most of the Dual Layers till now has been their pitiful teeth. With Hasbro's seeming improvement (or not, depending) of the Layer-Driver locking mechanism, maybe we'll see some new contenders for Deathscyther's top spot in Stamina.
I noticed that no one had posted this yet and felt the need to do so:

Definitely interested by the fact they included more anime-correct versions of S2 and V2. Great way to grab money, haha. It also seems like one of the wonders is grey instead of black. I probably won't pick this up, with it being $45, and the fact I have TT versions of these Beys.
Hasbro Strikes Again comes to mind. These look pretty bad. Several aspects of Burst make me really miss MFB.
I'm getting really impatient of waiting because I've waited since July of 2015 and so I just need to ask:

Has anyone in the entire United States have any information whether its from an employee of ToysRus, Target, Walmart or Hasbro itself regarding the release of Beyblade Burst?

Has anyone seen these products on the shelf in a U.S. store yet?

I'm thinking of calling Hasbro again and this time they cannot use the excuse that they don't know about Beyblade Burst because it's out in Canada.

Please let me know if you have any info because I am dying to get my hands on these products before I have to go to school.

One of the reasons I prefer MFB over Burst was skill. MFB was driven by skill. The best combo, best counter, best launch. That's how you won. Burst has that as well, but def not to the same degree. Bursts added a degree a randomness to the game, so luck became a more central part of the experience. With Hasbros, bursting is rarer. So it seems like the luck aspect has been decreased, which I'm okay with.

I'm sure they'll be a mid September release.

I suspect you're right that MFB is at least somewhat more skill-oriented than Burst, but there's still a ton of luck involved. Choosing a combo is a skill, sure, but you never have enough information to make a really informed decision, and matches in MFB are often pseudo-draws where one Beyblade stays in solely from hitting the stadium wall. The only series with any recoil like MFB is HMS, and the stadium walls were much lower, so you didn't see this quite so often.

If well-designed, the Burst mechanism shouldn't feel "random"; however, Takara-Tomy's design team hasn't been able to hit this bar and has produced a ton of essentially-defective products. We can scream "Hasbro, what have you done!?" to the heavens as much as we want; the stadiums suck and the colors are pretty garish, but nothing about the mechanism design seems to be worse than Takara-Tomy's.

It's kind of a buzzkill for those of us that love to import, though.
Isn't that just nice how the more show accurate Beyblades are in an expensive set, that's a way to milk more out of our wallets.

I'm sure they'll be a mid September release.

That sounds good, hopefully they will be out by next weekend.

P.S. I'm a big fan of your channels, Jake, you make amazing content. I'd love to play Overwatch with you sometime, especially now that the new map has just dropped!
Since the Hasbro launcher are really bad, I decided to make a modified Hasbro light launcher from metal fusion and use the prongs from a broken burst launcher to make a light launcher that can use MFB accessories and use the long Takara Tomy Winders.
I forget, are the Ripcords interchangeable?

Also, why doesn't the stickers have any detail at all? Why just flat bold coloured ugly cut outs? I mean would it kill them to add detail to some of them at least?

Because they're not stickers, they're decals printed directly on the part. These cost a lot more to manufacture than stickers.

They don't look like stickers, it looks printed to me. Can someone who has them confirm whether it's pre-applied stickers or some kind of paint?
