It might be either region-locked or Android only, because it didn't work in the US on my iPhone.

i hope its not region locked because i have an android and havent been able to find an update on the app either

It worked on my iPad it’s not region locked

I'm in Canada and I have the new beys in the android version. Did you try scanning them? Because I haven't seen the update and it simply works.
Like Balaar, Morrigna and so on.

Did some digging and found that new champion clash set, looks pretty cool
Turbo Achilles, Dread Phoenix, Air Knight, Geist Fafnir, Roktavor, Wonder Valtryek, are the beys it comes with. 

Also stadium is a rail rush stadium it looks as big as the normal hasbro stadiums we get

I think the Stadium will be the best yet for the Slingshock line, though. They seem to be improving with each stadium.

It has nothing to do about gimmicks. It's that Turbo Valtryek doesn't have a Slingshock release, which means that Evolution-S is not a thing since all the Beys in the set have their Slingshock stock combo.

I'm gonna stop it here before this gets too out of hand.
