So in school, everytime my friends see me watching beyblade vids on the bus or anywhere, they make fun of me and have the sudden urge to scream (my name) Is watching beyblades. I tried to be quiet and not respond, and other things to make them stop talking. carp off already, can people just accept that I like to do this. This has been happening for two grades and people still think it's funny. I cannot let them see my screen when watching beyblades, and try to hide it, why must I hide it, can't I just be happy?
The same exact thing happens with me....whenever I watch any anime...I hide my phone screen from not only My frnds but from my family too...My sister still laugh at me for watching animes...she says" U r about to graduate and still U watch cartoons"... and the main irritation is that everyone..almost everyone I know consider me a kid....Just Today...I was travelling in train....I was watching " Ao no Exorcist"... people behind me were laughing and saying bad things about me...saying this girl still watches cartoons....

So sometimes I become sad...that I think nobody cares what I actually do...they just make fun of me and laugh at my misery...

Just if U cant cooperate with this generation...like taking selfies all the time...talking bad bad words...and doing adult stuff...U will be considered wierd...and people will laugh at ur misery and ignore U....thats what happens with me...
Well, in life there's always people ready to put you down for any reason, the trick is to not let it affect you, else they'll know and keep doing it to you.
just be a kind person even to those people, and ignore any taunting.

let them realize how much of a douche they are.
remember don't be mean to them, "kill" them with your kindness
It's one of those things that just happen in school. Once you reach the later years, it will go away as people mature. So just hang in there.
people will try to find things that are interesting about someone and twist is into something "bad" and insult you to feed their ego. though they could be doing it out of being jealous or because they were picked on when they were younger. attempt to ask them why they do it and see if you can't reason about them. if not there is nothing wrong with pretending they don't exist.
Thank U...everyone...talking to U guys...sure gives strength to move on with this hobby....and dont even care what other people think about us...
In school, everyone is just always teasing me about being a Beyblade fan sometimes even my teachers. But I have certain people tell me that - "what people do to tease you is none of your business."
I am lucky, cuz a few years ago to now i've prooved to everyone (of course not my family and friends) that I don't care at all what thay say/think about me, and no one says anything about my interests.
But anyway I am so sorry for all you have to suffer this kind of insults!
I dont get bullied for Beyblade even though my friends dont like beyblade as much as me, Some people know about my love for beyblade but dont bully me about it, tbh people should just be nice to each other, I do believe that everyone has a hobby, we shouldn't bully people for the things they love, its like saying "Football/Soccer is for 3 year olds" and how would you feel if someone said "[Insert Hobby] is for dead souls" and you liked that hobby.

(More of a Message to bullys who have hobbys because im sure EVERYONE HAS A HOBBY)

Yh there are always people in schools that tend to be douchebags but it’s just one of the perks of school, most at school are judgemental and expect everyone to be part of the mainstream beliefs. But as time goes on in later stages, people mature and are not judgemental as they once were. I mean I’m at uni now and people are all open and cool with each other’s hobbies and stuff everyone has. Back at secondary school playing beyblade was almost taboo and all the boys were expected to like football and stuff. It just changes so believe in the system. Till then play it secret and pretend u aren’t into it cos I could say ignore it and carry on openly expressing ur hobby but really in the teen years people will always be judgemental of hobbies such as beyblades and it could escalate to bullying etc in teen years as I seen in many posts in the wbo.

Personally I think the judgemental bias may come from the fact that parents put into their children’s minds as teens that they should outgrow toys and stuff so kids start to criticise each other on this basis.
Well actually its not getting bullied for specifically beyblade...its like getting taunted for doing whatever U like...its a little broader aspect...

Anyways...a similar thread is also there...so lets stop here...the moderators might get angry at us...
It's sad that there is an increase in these sorta threads. Wish there were less problems regarding having beyblade as a hobby in the world, from what I'm seeing it's increasing. Perhaps it's cos kids nowadays are used to having Iphones and texting at 13 while back when I was 13 years old, beyblades and yugioh where the go to for pass time.
Well I will say one thing...yesterday...during my practical class in College...the one thing happened I never imagined...the girls in our class were talking and shouting about beyblade...mainly about their beyblade collection...so I asked those girls about we can have our own tournaments in college...Everyone was happy about that...but sadly all our beyblades r not with Us anymore...

They Even know about WBO...More than me...but when I asked them to join WBO..they were very sad that how they couldnt give time to any social networking site right now since Exams r approaching...
We even talked our fav hero in beyblade...and It seems like Only I was a fan of Tyson...everygirl in our class was a total fan girl of Kai...about how he is so cool and does use Dranzer so cooly

The day was the best day of me...
My frnds all had the MFB blades...and I never ever imagined their knowledge of beyblades...while talking about Pegesus and L drago...I remember...one of my frnds said" Why should boys have all the fun??"

Well said
I guess talking about Beyblade has sure got some advantages. To tell the truth, a Beyblade talk in the physics lab gifted me with my best friend and guitarist.
Don't be ashamed Kid, I'm 23 years old, play Basket ball with my friends from highschool, and I even post on Facebook that I'm into beyblade, heck I even posted my first Beyblade on Instagram. I'm an adult that Loves beyblade and to compete. It doesn't matter if my high school friends think it's stupid I'm really open that I like Beyblade. My advice to you man, is if they keep trying to pick on you, just invite them to know about it. Tell them hey, to be honest this is really pretty entertaining. It's probably more fun and exciting than what ever they are into haha be cool about it and you will esrn respect, heck maybe even start a team off that. Be cool be confident, be proud. Guarantee you'll get more attention for yourself and the game. Don't be shy man, be calm and cool. I'll remind you I am 23 years old and I'm going to uipload this pic of my custom Valkyrie V2
In life there are two kinds of people. Those who will put you down no matter what you do, and then there are the nice people
A few of my friends know I am really into beyblading. One of them tease me lightly from time to time, but the others don't. Two of them (including the one who teases me sometimes) are actually getting into beyblades after I showed them how to blade when they came to my house.
It made me cringe when they tried to launch with a light launcher. They legit could not hold it.
I also feel lucky to have people who share the same interest in beyblading as me, even though they might be far away. I feel a sense of protection and happiness, because I get to discuss what I really like with people who don't really live near me (because no one at my school is interested in beyblade (well, maybe a few are because there are over a thousand students)). I really like discussing things about beyblade, and most of the time I talk about it with my little brother. He doesn't have a very intense interest, though. He just likes it.
I am sorry to hear about people being bullied about blading. Next time someone bullies you about it, think of a retort to say (but not exactly make them feel too bad, just to make them feel guilty about trash-talking you) about maybe a hobby they have that seems immature.
And again, boi, we are so lucky to have a community like this.

Also, whenever my parents say something about me being too old for beyblade, I just tell them that adults play with them too. They understand, but I guess they forget.
Aren't adults responsible for the design, engineering, and production of the Beyblade Franchise?  Not kids...

Company's like anime studios, video game companies, Pokemon, etc etc all need employee's and people to help create new and exciting products. And they need help to keep the franchise going.

If you are into Beyblades and Anime... just remember that can pay off very well in the future when you're working and looking for opportunities. You also don't have to be limited to working for a company. Sometimes it can remain a hobby and you can incorporate it into your life in other ways.

I'm 28 years old and I am a Recreational Program Supervisor at a child and youth center. I liked Beyblades when I was younger and last year I bought some Beyblade Burst products just  to try them out. They were cool and I ended up bringing them to work with me. One thing led to another and now I spend some time Beyblading at work almost every shift. It's pretty sweet. lol

In all seriousness, I am very sorry that you're being teased or singled out. Honestly I would speak to your parents/school principle and demand that something is done about you being harassed.  Don't be afraid to name names when it comes to giving information to your parents/peers. They will support you and they will be on your side. Make sure to keep other school kids OUT OF THIS. This is YOUR personal business.  Keep it private.

Have a good day and take care.

Thanks, but now just one of my friends does it and everyone else thinks it's old. No one makes fun of me probably because he makes fun of everyone else too. Why would he do this when he knows people can strike back and say things about his appearance lol
some of my friends used to tell me Yu-gi-oh was for [expletive]...I quit afterwards, but because it was boring at that point...nobody teases me for being into beyblade...even in the south...but then again, it isn't high school yet...

I offer my hopes (that things will get better and that you may experience better later on) to everybody experiencing mistreatment psychologically for their hobbies...
Hello! It happened to me when when I was in college. But, with time people grow up and in high school, I hears nobody really laughing at me, some of them were surprised, but that's it. With maturity, they can understand that we can have passions.
But, fo today, what I can advice you is to prepare yourself to endure and to answer something intelligent. Be prepared to remarks and to answer them. They can see this in a better way after some intelligent words.
And by moments you'll just never change some idiots mentality. ^^
Hang on!
