If that is the case, I guess Burst won't do as well in the UK. Beyblade doesn't sell well in the UK anymore, and Burst is being sold alongside the heavy metal Infinity Nado serthe

Sadly, imo, they really dropped the ball with both beys and their packaging, especially when compared with TT. Changing the colour schemes made the beys look comical a lot of the time and altering the names of beys was a strange move (especially given that many were already understandable in english eg. zeus, odin, behemoth, kerbeus, deathscyther, xcalibur, valkyrie, unicorn, etc). It always seemed odd that they would change these names to something so random like valtryek, unicrest and stuff
But yeah as Bladerjakob said a lot of it is people missing the old metal saga beys as they think those were a lot "stronger" (true) and don't see the interesting new mechanic that burst adds to the game

Perhaps they are all more interested in fidget spinners, or the fact that the show is only broadcast on somewhat lesser known (non traditional) private channels on television is really hurting the brand.

Don't have time to get into this whole topic right now, but have you guys been playing competitively a lot lately? Maximum Garuda is perhaps slightly overpowered, but generally speaking the metagame is actually probably the best it's ever been in Burst right now. It's great in almost all aspects; the key difference right now is that Attack is finally viable to the extent that it doesn't feel like you're necessarily taking an abnormally high risk by using it thanks to Legend Spriggan (and maybe Sieg Xcalibur if what I've heard about it is true). I can only really say tournament beys and the recolour drain fafnir (blue/purple) / lost longinus (red/blue) are really the rare sought items around and about. I mean at least compared to hms and plastic rares, burst rares are not as sought after.

Not sure it's really time to be talking about Burst as a "collector's item" for most releases besides the extremely limited ones. Plastics and HMS weren't as expensive or sought after when the series ended and even for several years afterwards as they are now. For example, in 2008 I bought three Dragoon MS UV (Proto Grey) for like 2000 yen each or something crazy (in retrospect given what they're worth now) like that.
