First I wanted u guys to know if u guys thought if Beyblade Burst will become more popular and become a trend in the future. Just wanted to know what u guys thought. ☺
it would be awesome if it was a trend but many people just have a hard time trying to like it due to the fact that many miss the metal series they have a hard time welcoming the new era

If that is the case, I guess Burst won't do as well in the UK. Beyblade doesn't sell well in the UK anymore, and Burst is being sold alongside the heavy metal Infinity Nado series.

Then you can share my pain.
I feel that a lot of the reason why burst has failed outside of Japan and HK has also been Hasbro themselves. Sadly, imo, they really dropped the ball with both beys and their packaging, especially when compared with TT. Changing the colour schemes made the beys look comical a lot of the time and altering the names of beys was a strange move (especially given that many were already understandable in english eg. zeus, odin, behemoth, kerbeus, deathscyther, xcalibur, valkyrie, unicorn, etc). It always seemed odd that they would change these names to something so random like valtryek, unicrest and stuff :/
But yeah as Bladerjakob said a lot of it is people missing the old metal saga beys as they think those were a lot "stronger" (true) and don't see the interesting new mechanic that burst adds to the game

While Hasbro hasn't been doing their best, they are really trying and the new Evolution line of beys are a really big step forward. The new mechanic is literally Burst. It's that extra layer of unpredictability that is added to the game. Although the meta may still seem a bit bland, I think it's gonna get better from here.
I hadn't actually seen photos of the new evolution line and I just checked them out. Have to say it looks a LOT better. Might even be able to get my hands on a tornado wyvern now hahaha
Yeah the new mechanic is just burst but i think it's quite good. You have to think about the shape of the layer, teeth and how that suits the rest of your bey. The meta is quite unbalanced atm but i do see it slowly shifting
Kids are apparently not talking about them in school anymore, at least in Québec. Perhaps they are all more interested in fidget spinners, or the fact that the show is only broadcast on somewhat lesser known (non traditional) private channels on television is really hurting the brand.

Hasbro: We want to make Beyblade an evergreen brand!
Also Hasbro: *fails to market the products effectively and creates inferior parts*

Apart from just asking school kids, do you know of any way I could check this myself? Say, in my own area?

I'm pretty sure MFB hit its peak in Australia long before Hasbro's Zero-G releases (what were they even called?) and these days basically nobody here has Hasbro Zero-G blades. While stores are still pretty well-stocked, and while that stock seems to keep selling out, I reckon Burst will die locally if Hasbro takes a "break" between now and the God series, like they did with Zero-G. It'd be cool to measure that phenomenon as it happens.

Of course, when I say "die", I really mean "become a hobby for die-hard fans", because Giraton's recent exploits in Melbourne show the hobby still lives.

They don't do it in the UK either, but then again I forgot if any UK schools had kids bring Metal Fight. Despite having less integrity than Beyblades, it seems as though Fidget Spinners are a lot more popular than beyblade, and while they are losing their popularity here (thank goodness), a lot of kids still have it and I have seen no one buy or even look at Beyblade Bursts, despite being in Toys R Us, and if not that, then they're also in a widely common supermarket, TESCO and I haven't seen a single one bought. The show being on Disney XD doesn't help because that really is just some channel they put shows they want to get rid off or make them niche. Another problem could be that these are sold alongside Infinity Nado, and if there are people who think it's all about how strong each brand or series is, or dislike how Burst are weaker than MFB, then Infinity Nado could possibly hurt it too, though I only saw like 2 people who got them. The show itself seems like something only a specific audience will get into, and the dub isn't that good. Not to mention the dubbed episodes aren't as easy to find as other beyblade dubs used to be. At this point, I think Burst is for a niche audience, ones that only long time fans could enjoy or one who has no knowledge of the other series may or may not like. Mind you, this is all on top of the problems Hasbro Burst has anyway.

Maybe the Evolution series will save it, but that's a stretch honestly, I think Evolution would only appeal to those who were interested in Hasbro Burst in the first place. I can see this be the next B-Daman Crossfire, which was a colossal failure of a toyline, the products also had compatibility issues, random colour choices and lesser quality, and the way both anime were put on Disney XD feels awfully familiar. Did Hasbro really believe doing another B-Daman Crossfire for Burst was good?

EDIT: Oh wait, I forgot, at least B-Daman Crossfire sold the products for a fair price, not counting any bargain prices. Hasbro Burst on the other hand has the gall to charge £10 for a product with slightly less quality, one that requires I start a new collection for a new meta, and this is just a booster. MFB and Plastic starters were cheaper, like £6-8, though some MFB starters were £10 in some stores, which is more excusable than a £10 burst booster, there is less metal and it's just a booster, no stickers too and cheap packaging. The starters are £13 here, and the two packs, the ones with no launchers are £20, compared to MFBs 2 packs which were generally £16, which had launchers.

Takara Tomy Burst certainly seems like it'll do fine, and I think that'll last a bit longer as long as people are still interested in the gameplay.

Don't have time to get into this whole topic right now, but have you guys been playing competitively a lot lately? Maximum Garuda is perhaps slightly overpowered, but generally speaking the metagame is actually probably the best it's ever been in Burst right now. It's great in almost all aspects; the key difference right now is that Attack is finally viable to the extent that it doesn't feel like you're necessarily taking an abnormally high risk by using it thanks to Legend Spriggan (and maybe Sieg Xcalibur if what I've heard about it is true). Check out the recent posts from Toronto in the Winning Combinations thread.
My verdict is that competition wise the burst products are defo doing well. They are quite exciting to watch in battle. However as a collectors item, they aren't really popular. I can only really say tournament beys and the recolour drain fafnir (blue/purple) / lost longinus (red/blue) are really the rare sought items around and about. I mean at least compared to hms and plastic rares, burst rares are not as sought after.

I was referring to MaxxyWaxxy's verdict
But anyways, I do think the meta now is almost the best meta. We finally have the rock paper scissors circle but with that extra variability that allows scissors to cut rock. I was mostly meaning to say that it'll get better from here, with the balancing TT has finally done I can look forward to some releases that add an extra option to the meta.
I personally think the main factor is price, the original beyblades were £5-£6, a price that was very accessible then to different families of different economic backgrounds, me myself not being from the best background I was able to save 2 days of lunch money and be able to buy a beyblade with launcher, etc and also my mum was able to buy them for me as it wasn't so much a sting for her, I work for a bank and I see the state of peoples finances day in day out, and especially in todays economic climate and welfare etc being cut left right and access to higher learning being cut too people just don't have enough money for the last luster hasbro beys where you don't even get a launcher its not something you can pick up and immediately play, e.g I have 2 boys under 4 yrs and they are always losing their launchers so I would have to pay pounds more just to get the launcher included unlike the original plastics, as a parent myself the pricing completely deters me and knowing how much faffing I'd have to do with buying higher priced toys just to get the launcher is off putting, THEY ARE EXPENSIVE!!!, prices haven't changed nearly so much you charge a tenner for just a bey, when back in the day if done it'd be like £3-4 most. its the parent who will buy these toys and the parents who will outright say "no don't spend your money on that spinning top" because at these price thats all they look like!

this is forgetting all the obvious other linguistics but maaan

like name change- confusion
colour changes - confusion
design changes - confusion
no cross compatibility - segregation
bad non iconic packaging - doesn't catch you eye and go wow they look like the cheap toys you get in a newsagents but overpriced
no skill/collector/advertisement sheets -like the plastic that made you want to COLLECT and dream about getting that next bey

my son play with some boys older than him they are about 9 and they love the craft, one boy gets them from japan and even went there for a tourney and the other makes them from scratch with his dad too but they both dislike the hasbro and pricing too

did not mean to write this much heheheh

Not sure it's really time to be talking about Burst as a "collector's item" for most releases besides the extremely limited ones. Plastics and HMS weren't as expensive or sought after when the series ended and even for several years afterwards as they are now. For example, in 2008 I bought three Dragoon MS UV (Proto Grey) for like 2000 yen each or something crazy (in retrospect given what they're worth now) like that.

Fairs, but even then we gotta think about the popularity of the beys at that given time vs burst right now. I think in general Beyblade is starting to lose its market so I can't see any antique collectors items developing from current releases like with plastic gen where till date the beys remain popular. The impact that burst has left on people doesn't reach the height that plastics and mfb reached. It won't be as remembered I think. Perhaps certain releases but on a whole I can't see burst producing collectors stuff. I think it's main purpose is battles only which is what it's best for and where it's enjoyment lies. Once I save up I'll get burst beys mainly for battles but I doubt I'd ever turn to em for collection though there is one set of beys which I would love to own as part of my collection.

My comment on the meta wasn't worded as well as it should've been. As far as Burst goes the meta is definitely diversifying and heading in the right direction (so glad that i see guardian kerbeus topping some tourneys btw).  I love that attack layers are more viable as well as this was a major problem with the first two generations of burst. Currently have a sieg xcalibur but have been unable to test it out as I'm on holiday in Japan. From what i can see though it locks TIGHT. What I should have probably said is "the meta is still a bit unbalanced atm but i do see it shifting in the right direction"
