Hasbro is supporting an initiative called Be Fearless Be Kind, which is a collaboration between not-for-profit organisations No Bully and GenerationOn. The Putting Empathy into Action part of the initiative draws attention to the issue of schoolyard bullying and provides a safe space for kids to talk about it.

We all know how it goes. You're a kid, you complain about being bullied, everyone tells you to get over it. Be Fearless Be Kind supports the idea that it is okay to talk about bullying. September is apparently "peace" month. So there you go.

I think it is an interesting concept because it tries to use "good" peer pressure between kids to stamp out bullying in schools. The idea that kids can regulate themselves and each other when it comes to bullying might seem a bit pie-in-the-sky to many victims though, who may fear out-of-class reprisals.

Anyway, I figured that given a recent rise in bullying problems for our members, this might be a good time to mention that Hasbro, the very makers of Beyblade in the west, officially opposes bullying and is taking steps to address the issue. If you are being bullied, you might consider having a look at the Putting Empathy into Action website.
