I'm not sure why but I don't find beyblades burst to be as intense or interesting as the other beyblades series'. It doesn't feel like it has a storyline. Everything just randomly happens. No real villain or plot etc. If I had to make a ranking order of the best in my opinion it would be

1) beyblade grevolution
2) metal fight beyblade 4d
3) beyblade bakueten shoot
4) beyblade V force
5) beyblade metal fight explosion
6) Metal fight beyblade
7) beyblade zero g
8) beyblade burst
9) beywheelz (that one person that doesn't fit into the crowd they chill with)

What do u guys think? Which order is best to u? Does burst have a solid storyline?
Beyblade Burst is a realist serie.
Burst is stupid. About people who say it's realistic, seriously?! Reality is all around you, haha

Other than that it's got no solid plot.

So people saying it's good for being more realistic is suddenly a moot point then? Some do like the attempt at realism Burst has, some like the fantasy MFB has and etc. Burst isn't 100% realistic for sure, but I find it does do a decent attempt.
Well, whatever. If it's fun and makes me entertained as I watch, than it's fine by me. I don't care about over complicated plots or fantasy vs realism, as long as it delivers good moments.
I kinda agree with @[BeyGa] actually, I feel that as long as I'm entertained then that's fine by me which is why I like the Burst anime. It's a simple tournament/sports story and that's how I like it.

Is Beyblade Burst perfect? No, absolutely not. It does have a lot of flaws such as pacing issues where some arcs do take too long to finish and it can be inconsistent sometimes but I like how light-hearted it is. I wouldn't say Beyblade Burst is my favourite series (that title goes to G-Revolution) but so far, it does hold up alright for me. It doesn't need to be this "dark, deep and meaningful" story or some mediocre story where a bunch of bladers fight some generic purple monster from taking over the world, I find Beyblade series that revolve around tournament type stories work best for the most part. It's really why 4D has never appealed to me, I just found it dull despite some good ideas.

Don't get me wrong, the realistic tone of Burst can be a problem. Whilst the more realistic approach in Burst is unique, it does limit how far Beyblade Burst can go with Beybattles due to the rules they'd have to follow when it comes to the battles which can be a problem. However, it can be quite interesting to see some characters dealing with more relatable problems.

I can understand that not everyone can get into the more realistic approach as it can be a risky move and can be limited but it is done fairly well in Burst IMO and I'm glad they tried something different. However, I can see why people might not like the series and prefer fantasy plots from the MFB series and that's fine, we all have different tastes. For me, I have mixed feelings about the realistic tone but I do like that Burst went with a tournament style plot. This is just my opinion though.
I think burst is a totally different series with the previous beyblade animes, and the story of burst is much simpler and perhaps more boring, so it may not interest the people who have started playing beyblade and watch the anime since Bakueten or Metal Fight. However, well, it is not a very bad choice just for fun. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ (And perhaps more realistic? It talks more about how to play the beys, but the beasts...XD)
Any way, my favorite are 4D and explosion, just for Ryuga and L-Drago. Tongue_out
And burst is also OK for me. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
Whenever I watch a Beyblade anime, I try to think as if I was a kid again, "how the kid version of me would see those episodes? Am I entertained?" is what I ask sometimes. And the answer is always, "Yes! This would be a really happy kid!" Seeing all those cool battles and really cool and friendly moments. Beyblade Burst is the anime I needed, and what I always wanted for a Beyblade series, it's chill, teaches people how to play the game (I never saw that in other series), has awesome characters, the battles are fast and don't bother me, as in MFB.

I'm really glad it's not about an evil creature trying to take the world, then the story (or the lack of it) focus more on the characters and how they interact with each other, not on simple little sparkles and explosions every single episode. The characters here feel more alive, it's like I'm their friend, and part of the BeyClub. We can see the main character growing slowly and when we realize all he had to do to reach the point he was on episode 43, for example, it's just beautifully made.

But it's apparently just me thinking this way. Tired
Well said BeyGa, Burst does feel good for being able to immerse yourself into their world because it's one of the most believable. I like Bursts anime although it's still not my favourite unfortunately, I think Bakuten Shoot, G-Revolution and Metal Masters are better than it. I really don't want to say this but the realistic battles, while it looks cool feels like something that will restrict on how intense a battle could be, although I'll have to watch the final battle to see how much they decided to limit themselves.

I still don't see the appeal for 4D, I think it's easily the weakest of the three metal saga series. I mean it has great ideas, and really improved animation and a few characters are okay but the series was pretty meh IMO, not really too fun and most of the new characters were rather stale. The toyline is the opposite though, I love the toyline.

Yeah, I never saw the appeal either. Like you said, it has some good ideas but the execution was rather dull. It's honestly the most overrated Beyblade series IMO but if people do enjoy it then that's great. More power to them. They definitely see something in 4D that I can't.

Episode 43 started showing something new, and not that impossible in real life. They have plenty of little moments to translate in slow motion to the anime battles. We have many channels on youtube showing incredible moments in battles, that they didn't explore in the anime. Imagine if they "hunt" these moments on youtube to make crazy battles? Grin

About episode 43:
Haha I forgot about ep 43, and yeah that was really intense. It does seem to be exaggerated but it's not too much to te extreme while at the same time being fun. The Ben vs Kensuke battle and I mean the new one was pretty awesome too.
I totally agree Jinbee.

Also, LOL-y Rancher and Jinbee said 4D isn't appealing to them. Neither to me. Thing is, Beyblade is a kids show, and if they (the kids) like it, that's fine. If we like it is just a bonus. Haha

I also think that a Beyblade series doesn't need to be "good", like having little build up moments, being fantasy or not, as long as it pleases the target audience, the kids. The simplicity of Burst is just beautiful, because I like seeing the believable characters and most of the launches being possible to replicate in real life, that's cool!
BeyGa, you were 100% on the money when you said, beyblade burst is the series I've always wanted them to make. It's more mature in its themes while still being light-hearted and funny. Events that happen are more engaging to me because they are very grounded (Kensuke having to move and quit the beyclub, Daina cheating, Shu injuring his shoulder). As a kid I loved the beyblade anime because it was silly, fun and cool but as an adult I kind of want more from the shows I watch and burst is a great mix (while still having it's flaws obviously)
Simply watching Valt grow over the last 39 episodes (waiting for subbed) has been plot enough imo, let alone all the other interesting character arcs. Compared to Gingka who basically started out as one of the best bladers in the world, Valt is much more fallible which makes him more relatable and his battles more interesting because there's often a fair to good chance he'll lose. Burst definitely has a story just not your typical save the world or evil villain plotline which i think is what most people expect/want from a beyblade series. You just have to approach the series with a different mindset and understand that it won't be what you're used to. That post was way longer than I intended haha :P
Just to say, the reaction of the Japanese community to Shuu's shoulder injury and his visit to the doctor's office was to mock him and highlight how ridiculous it was. Being more realistic means that issues like this are easy to mock because you are supposed to take them seriously, while as part of a fantasy, a lot of things can be forgiven or overlooked.

Plus, you have to think about the audience's interest in long term. If you find Beyblade Burst to be a series you watch "for fun", then this is not a good long-term plan at all, because that means that your attention is not captured firmly enough and that you might drop out of watching it each week the moment more anime come out that are more captivating. Kids these days especially have a short attention-span. I really wonder how long the Beyblade Burst anime can keep being popular, if it even still is at this time. Beyblade litterally relies on the anime's popularity for its existence.
If the Japanese community find the Shu hospital scene ridiculous then that's fine, Burst is more realistic but it seems to still be exaggerated, because the tops in the anime are probably more powerful than real life ones so the injury doesn't seem as ridiculous. Regardless, I'm not one of those people who needs someone to validate my opinions and that's why I don't entirely agree with the thoughts on the injury episode.
Fair enough Kai, I can understand why the shoulder injury was viewed as ridiculous. In the context of a 100% realistic show it would be especially ridiculous but the way I view it is that in burst beyblade is treated as an elite sport as well as a hobby, and in elite sports people suffer injuries all the time. Also the shoulder injury led to great character development for Shu as he had to switch to a left handed launch. As jinbee said the tops in the anime are clearly stronger than real life ones, you can see it from the way they move and even the size of the stadiums, so burst is like an enhanced version of real life blading. Just a question Kai, what do you think of burst and why? Just interested to know Smile
Oh, my opinion of Burst is known and I try not to bother people with it too much hah. Great if it has not transpired that much from my posts so far hah.

That being said, I launch with my left arm but I do not consider it an "interesting character development" of my own. It is unusual, but it sounds absolutely natural to me that anyone would switch to their other arm if their prefered one becomes useless for any reason. Anybody can become ambidextrous, it just takes a lot of practice.
Well i thought as much hahaha, just wanted to check. I'm new to the community so I know nothing about people's opinions on here but at least it's civil and everyone can get their point across
Really? Shu encountered a major problem and found a way to overcome it eventually, there was no miraculous recovery or power up for shu, he had to progress and practice hard to perfect his left-handed launch. Typical character writing, character encounter obstacle, finds a way to overcome it. It is very simple and it was the most obvious solution but that is what I like about it. I found it pretty interesting but if you didn't that's fine as well. I think maybe we just want different things from a beyblade series. I'm enjoying the new direction they're going with this season but it's clearly not for everyone
Well, Xhaka did miraculously heal him once or twice just by touching his shoulder though...
Yeah but that was for one launch hahahaha, i agree it was kind of silly but xhaka even said "it's an illusion". It played into xhaka's martial arts background to have a knowledge of pressure points as well
Shu's shoulder injury was clearly a tool to make the regional finals more competitive as Shu would've destroyed valt otherwise, so as far as that goes, i can overlook it as it kept the blader hierarchy intact in a believable way
I stopped watching Burst after episode twenty: have any of the problems, besides the shoulder injury, dragged on for more than two episodes? Because even Kensuke moving was resolved very quickly by Valt saying that it was going to be fine and they would see each other again in tournaments or whatever. And that quick resolution is simply unrealistic, ironically hahah. A lot of problems in real life last many days, even months, and they affect people in the long run. These are kids in development, any hardship is supposed to leave a mark and mould them into something quite different.
I think that they give the idea of what the characters are going through enough to get the point across while not dragging it out too long, because it still has to focus on the toyline and battles, probably why the problem effects are normally so short.
Maybe it's just me but I preferred the whole hero villain thing. Where there's always one main squeeze that everyone gotta beat. Anyways I also think Valts growth is kinda slow if I'm honest. I expected him to have mastered his awakening by the first like 25-30 episodes and fight on par with shu. Maybe it's just me but his growth seems slow.

In the og beyblades Tyson mastered dragoon in like 4 episodes, in mfb ginga already knew how to utilise Pegasus power. Valt seems like a rookie for many episodes now and nearly every one of his battles seems luck based, maybe they're tryna pull off the whole underdog thing but it's been a bit long now it's time for them to show us a cool side to valt like with shu and display skill and technique as such. Valt is like the beyblade counterpart of joey wheeler from yugioh. Mostly luck but outclassed in technique by another main character.

A lot of the Kensuke stuff happens later in the series so i'll put it in a spoiler tag
Not guaranteeing it'll be the same for you but for me the anime really picked up around episode 28 i think :/ can't remember exactly where but around that. Given your strong opinions on the show though, it's likely that it's just not for you
