Seeing as we are well over a year into Beyblade Burst and that we have accumulated three generations of Beyblades, I think we can all agree that we cannot keep calling our award collectibles "Faces" much longer! Soon, the percentage of fans who will not have been part of the Beyblade community during Metal Fight Beyblade will be considerably larger than those who have.

We are really curious to hear what you guys would prefer to call them, especially since these awards are mainly made for your enjoyment before ours!

There is just one thing to keep in mind: the name cannot remain 'Faces'. This is unfortunately not up for discussion.

As such, the final name choice should be able to be appropriate for all three generations and, hopefully, all future Beyblade series as well no matter what the piece at the centre of the Beyblade or the representation of the beast is on those.

Additionally, keep in mind the wide diversity of the current Faces we have. There are multiple different categories: Faces for achievements, Faces with drawings on them, Faces for participating in special events, Face Boosters hiding Faces with drawings on them, etc. The new name should be suitable no matter the category.

You can see above that we added a poll, however as always we will pay much more attention to thorough post replies that elaborate on the reasons behind the person's vote. It is also through posts that we will find out if you have other name suggestions anyway!

Let's give ourselves no more than two weeks to reach a consensus, so please submit your vote and remember to post to explain your reasoning before November 25!
How about "Emblems"?

Technically it's an HMS specific term, but it can apply to any design, like the faces, stone faces, or the little letters on the burst layers and drivers. (example; Accel Emblem, Valkyrie Emblem, etc.)

(also off topic but i've been making little recreations of the layer and driver letters so if you want to use those in faces i can lend you those designs)
Dawwww I was beaten to the suggestion of "Emblems"
Well when I first read title. I said in mind "OMG WBO. What you guys are thinking of really?", but when I read throught whole thread and I think it won't be bad if we do so. I really like Face name but well MFB is already ended so. Also if we are going to get a much better super cool name, then I have no issue (just want WBO to have refresh too like we changed its look last year)

So reason I voted "Other" rather (other, rather lol) then one of those in polls because lol really those names kinda give me goosebumps. Lol don't mean I don't like them or anything but they sounds kinda old-ish and I really want to see a name which match fresh look of WBO (Lol I really enjoy that white and blue theme btw)

Hope we will get a good name. Good Luck

Edit:- EMBLEM. Thats it. Its beautiful name for those stickers (lol). @[TrainiacJ] you are beymazing!

Oh I got most of the Layer emblems drawn, but mostly none from Dual Layers because they do not always have any official lineart. For the Drivers though, that would certainly be useful and really appreciated. Are they all in your creation topic? In any case, could you send us the original files for those?

And actually I think Emblem came up at some point in the Committee's discussion, but it was not part of the final debate hah.

I am somewhat surprised that the current initial reaction is to go for another name than what is in the list hahah. Is there none of those names that you guys would at least settle for, despite not being overly hyped with that name change?
BTW. Thing I forgot to write in my post.

What we will do of those face like "Metal Face"? Renaming them like for example Metal Emblem won't make sense
But exactly hah. You guys do realise that most Faces have no emblem on them, so it still makes little sense to call them something like "Peridot Emblem"? Personally it makes even less sense than "Peridot Face" somehow hahah. All the other options relate to a badge or a medal, which is more polyvalent for all types of awards.
If only face stickers counted as Emblems, or that MFB had engraved faces.
I second with TrainiacJ on naming Faces Emblems
Honestly I vote Badges. Badges has bern a term used for a lot of things similar to Faces' function from Scouts to Pokémon. I think all the suggestions are fine except bit. Bit sounds a little to plastics, and Bits were the OG Faces back in plastics. So there would really be no point in naming them Bits. Also Emblem is supposed to be more of a symbolic symbol rather tham something earned, so you can scratch that off too.
Hope this helps.
I love Emblem. Sounds just right. Badges is cool but doesn't necessarily feel right as opposed to Faces. Emblem it is. Smile
To everyone going for Emblem, I just want to reiterate that you guys all think that "Peridot Emblem", "Amber Emblem", "Gold Emblem", etc. all sound more appropriate to you than "Peridot Badge", "Amber Pin", etc.?
I think badge sounds better
I personally like "badge" but emblem is okay I guess...
Won't lie, I'm all for the Emblem shebang. I suppose Badge is more appropiate, but I feel like there must be something out there that can top both...

Crest maybe?
Peridot Crest, Gold Crest, Crest of Soul... idk...

Or Insignia? meh

Hmm when I tried speaking it few time with mouth (lol). Badge sounds slightly better to me but Emblem still sounds slightly more (furture-ish)
Badges. It's simple. Many Bladers tend to know at least a little about Pokemon. They sound cool. Yeah. Love them badges.
Token, insignia or coat of arms LOL
I vote for any of these
Surprised to hear Badges is topping; I initially thought Bits would take the lead by a far!

bits pls k thx

Yeah, but the connection to Pokémon is so obvious that it makes us seem quite unoriginal.

I truly believe that Bits is the best name to go forward with because:

– It is clearly connected to the history of Beyblade without sounding strange or alienating if you've never heard it before

– It captures their unique nature is truly small collectables for your profile

– It's a short, single syllable word (like Face), leaving the focus on the actual name of the Face/Bit/whatever.

– It leaves enough to the imagination to show that they don't always signify an accomplishment or achievement. You can get them for winning battles, entering contests, donating ... there's a huge variety of ways to collect them. I wouldn't want a name that pigeonholes them.

– So many of our Faces feature the symbols for the mythical beasts of each series, and "Bit" works well as a catch-all term for them all.

As for "Emblem", an Emblem is specifically a symbol of something, and many of our Faces don't have any symbol at all or are described by a material. A Diamond Emblem that has no emblem would be strange.
Bit is my close second pick, but I still lean most strongly towards Pin. It too is short and single-syllable, carries the connotation of being small, and is something to be worn by and displayed on your profile. Though it may not have any Beyblade tie-in like Bit, I think Pin can be used more generally (Gold [Medal] Bit, Metal [Face] Bit, Peridot Bit versus Gold [Medal] Pin, Metal [Face] Pin, Peridot Pin).

Plus Pin could follow more descriptive titles (e.g. Bit, HMS, Face, Stone Face, Burst, etc.) in Boosters to denote their contents (i.e. Bit Pin Booster Celeste, HMS Pin Booster Advance, Face Pin Booster Red, Burst Pin Booster alpha, etc.).
Last revival before the proposed deadline of November 25th. Right now, Badges and Bits are tied, but there have been some quite negative opinions expressed about both hah.

If anything, for those who voted on other options, can you now post which of Badges or Bits you would prefer? We realise that it may not be your ideal choice, but surely there is one that you could reasonably live with more than the other?

By the way, someone suggested to me "stickers/decals". It does not necessarily ring to the ear as well as Faces do, but it is true that all Beyblades have and should forever have decals to apply on them. So, in that sense, it transcends generations. Plus, plenty collect stickers, and they can be known to grade achievements, right? What do you all think about this name?
I prefer Badges TBH, since I feel "bits" only apply to old gen Beyblades, just like how Faces works mainly for MFB.

Yes, but the purpose isn't just to accurately represent whatever generation whichever Face/Bit is representative of. Nobody's complained about "Dragoon Face" so far.

The hope is for us to also carve out our own identity, and reclaiming the term "Bit" which is not really in-use anymore, but is still tied to Beyblade and still describes the objects in question, seems to me a more appealing option than, "Oh, badges, like Pokémon."

I also think that many of them do not look very "badge-like," and the term "Bit" is ambiguous enough for us to apply it to whatever weird ideas we might have in the future.

Obviously it's clear which one I prefer, but I do want to make the case for it and hope people will understand why I feel that Badges is a safe but ultimately less interesting and less uniquely-identifying choice.

"Stickers" is a cool name, but none of them look very sticker-like, and stuff like "Gold Sticker" or "Anniversary Sticker" sounds weird to me. An awards system that looks like a sheet of stickers would be cool, but maybe not doable at this point lol
But if "Dragoon Face" wasn't a problem, why change it now?
