I actually don't agree with BE and SE. Personally I'd say the rest are OK. Not the best though...

Edit: My close friend of mine (ken) actually got me to watch Aria the Animation after bugging me for such a long time (about 2 years) and I must say it is completely boring. However, it's the most relaxing anime I've ever watched and I literally can't stop watching it. It calms me and I also feel like I'm drifting off to sleep. 8/10. Not to mention he got me hooked on the 'are are' thing, haha. are are I shouldn't have said that.

I've heard of Aria before, never actually considered watching it, though. I like relaxing animes tbh.

I'll be reporting you for that.

But may I ask why?
You guys are crazy. Gurren Lagann is a masterpiece.

Guren Lagann is one of the anime that made anime what it is today. Masterpiece, yes.

However, I can think of at least 5 masterpieces that can top it. Thus, it becomes OK when compared.

Dude, Gurren Lagann is widely considered to be one of GAINAX's best works — perhaps only topped by Neon Genesis Evangelion – and is universally acclaimed by critics. To call it a masterpiece is pretty uncontroversial.

As for whether "other masterpieces" can top it — why even bother to make that distinction? It's a great show that's totally worth watching.
Extremely surprised at how I forgot to mention JJBA (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)-

It's not the best, but it is a masterpiece, no question about that.

Personally, I think they was quite a few things wrong with GL. Yes, it's a great show and I'd totally recommend it to anyone who is into that type of anime, but it's not the total best and I can say for sure that to some it may not be worth watching.

Why I said it can be topped is because if it was recommending anime to someone, regardless if they are into the genre, GL wouldn't be at the top of "must watch" imo.

No offence to you at all, but I'm not sure if GL and anime along the lines of those is all you've mostly seen. May be why your opinion differs from mine.
Decided to give bey wheelz another run through recently.

The reason why I think Gurren Lagann is mediocre, is because of how it portrays Mecha anime in general. Instead of it trying to be homage to popular mecha tropes, it turns out to be an insult and a not very funny parody of it. If you aren't as engrossed into shows like Getter Robo, Mazinger, King of Braves and the likes, I can see why people would think it as a very likeable anime, but other than that, it attracts a lot of weeb culture and when references to those works mentioned are made, people automatically assume it's a TTGL reference

Shido Kun kind of gets the picture, but not entirely. TTGL is basically a meme in the mecha community, and usually isn't the most recommended anime for the people who really want to get into the genre.

I don't really care about the references Gurren Lagann makes nor any works that reference it.

You guys really need to stop thinking everything needs to be ranked in some kind of order. Art isn't a competition.

Whether or not you agree is up to you, but having prior knowledge before watching TTGL left a bad taste in my mouth, especially after the first half. I totally get the appeal behind it, and why people would definitely enjoy it though.

I have no problem if you think it's a masterpiece or not, everyone has different tastes, but being engrossed in such a genre makes TTGL not the most appealing anime to me.
All bout that cyborg 009~
Ive decided to watch Golden Time again. By far one of my favourite animes

Just bought Date A Live: Mayuri Judgement...Im very excited.
To be honest, I'd watch any anime, regardless of its art style. A six year old could draw the animations and I'd still watch it if the plot's good.
Wow, I just finished this anime called Rainbow: Nisha Rokobou No Shichinen, and I loved it! It was 26 episodes and the story flowed real nice, with something new every few episodes while solving something else in the past. I feel like there were no filler episodes so that is what mostly kept me hooked to this! You guys should all watch it, but it is 18+ in the eyes of the average westerner, so don't watch right away if you are not mature enough for that kind of stuff :p

A lot of animes have good plots, seriously most of my favorite animes have some that have 13 to 25 episode plot. Guess it all matters on the source material really. Since well ya know, it's pretty lovely set if you ask me.
i'm watching sailor moon, and wanting to watch sailor moon crystal
