Yeah they would be foolish to waste all that time developing this/these just to give away 100 and not sell any.
I guess that this 1st Limited Beyblade Burst Driger S Gold Ver. indirectly announced the future release of those beys into Burst System.
But it's strange that they started with Driger S and not Dragoon S

And hope that they will open much more tournament for Adult, especially high Grade "G1 ; G2 ; G3"

Any word or speculation on when we'll get official product pictures of these?

There is currently no product known to be released in the future, just the manga chapter next month and a limited lottery prize that we will probably never see in person or in photographs even.
I wouldn't preclude at least Dragoon S and Driger S from being sold commercially though. Why promote them in the manga and a giveaway without selling them?

This is exactly what I was thinking. I'm confident we'll see some version of these for sale. I don't understand why they'd go through the trouble of engineering them only to never release them for any sort of profit--especially when they know everybody is going to want them.
Except that you guys are really overestimating who wants these hah. Sure, everybody here, but Beyblade is really meant for kids and the before-last generation is already full of adults. Therefore, no, it is not guaranteed that all the Beyblade Burst fans are even interested in the very first generation, not even a majority of them. Or perhaps they would simply get bought as if they were any other regular product.
Considering the (predicted) overhype, I'm sure there's some adults and man-children who would make a higher demand on these, plus it would seem like a waste of money to produce the molds unless the money comes from a product that makes players buy multiples of like a lottery.

Keep in mind that Takara-Tomy ran a huge nostalgia-based campaign to promote Beyblade Burst. They even show the evolution from plastics to MFB to Burst on the About page of Burst. And now they're running a new chapter of Bakuten Shoot Beyblade.

They're doing a lot to reference Beyblade's roots, so clearly nostalgia from adults is part of their marketing strategy (whether it's to appeal to adult hobbyists or to market to adults who now have children). I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this released as a mail-order only item, or some other kind of limited release.
I was thinking about that too, but we also know all the releases coming up until September, so the one-time chapter would come out in July, the lottery for the gold Driger S Burst Beyblade would be then as well, and three months later only there might be something else, if not much later? It would be different if there was the one-time manga revival in July and that there were products following that in August at the latest.

But for sure we will see if the future holds anything.

Yes, I'd been thinking about this today as well. I've also gotten the impression that Burst is more self-referential to the original generation than MFB ever was.

Beyblade, as a game which is centred around a very simple concept of spinning tops probably makes it much more timeless than a lot of other, similar toy ranges; and much more open to a tide of nostalgia.

The strength of communities in Japan such as WARI-BEY also suggests to me that the demographic is really varied, and how nostalgia is a really important part of how Beyblade as a game is currently evolving.

Whilst it's obviously difficult to see how this fits into the general release line of Burst, I would personally be very surprised if this was the last we ever saw of the Burst Driger S.

I'm going into wildly speculative territory here for discussion.

I take your point that Beyblade doesn't have the same built in audience that Transformers does to warrant remakes of any kind, but what if they're laying groundwork for the Paramount live action movie?

Assuming the movie focuses on the Bladebreakers and will be heavily merchandised, TT and Hasbro would want to familiarise their audiences with the characters that they're going to be banking on.

A similar thing happened when Marvel announced a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Following that announcement they began to push that property in their books, shows and merchandise. Nickelodeon revitalised the TMNT franchise with the IDW books, their animated show and new lines of figures in anticipation of the new live action movies.

I'm not saying that TMNT or Beyblade need marketing synergy with live action movies to work (they've both survived 10+ years without movies) but this isn't unprecedented. What if Paramount and Hasbro are the ones pushing for the remakes?

Putting the movie speculation aside (I don't think this project will even pan out), I've always found some of the Burst layers evocative of the plastic attack rings. Namely, the dragon heads and the bridges in the middle which look like bit chips. I've never found it much of a stretch to think they'd do something along the lines of remakes, even if they weren't by name.
^ Hahaha, this post is totally nuts but I can't help but hope it's true, even if the end result would be comically awful. We do know there are rights for a live-action Beyblade movie secured. But that wouldn't play well in Japan at all.
obligatory bump king remake Smile

I hope this happens. I would love to get a burst set of the original series beys!!
Making an unflipped right spin Dragoon would just make it feel like a stupid fake IMO. That had better be fixed.
Super excited for Driger though.
I seriously hope that they do something where burst is a continuation of bakuten shoot. I kinda have feelings like it is, though this:

Bit-chip- Driver design
AR- Layer
Weight Disk-Disk
Blade Base- Driver

I also hope they consider mass producing these. There is nothing I hate more than an anime/game only beyblade, and it would be a serious blow on tomy's part because then you lose an entire demographic.

As to adress the left spin dilema, a burst top actually unscrews counter clockwise. I found this out when I faced burst tops against a hand-spun meteo ldrago. So having a left spin burst would be impractical, and would either be poor teeth to where it is impractical, or something like Valkyrie's terth, where it might need a ban since it would quite literally unscrew the opponents so fast, to the point of where odin would burst as fast as chaos.

Another reason to why this would possibly be mass produced is for moulding. Something I learned from cubing is that making a new mold for mass producing a new cube can cost a great deal of money. I find it bizzare of how tomy would just use a mold for only 100 copies then discard it. It's the reason why in cubing, some cubes are still produced with their successor ( example: Moyu still produces the Weilong v1, Weilong v2, and the Weilong GTS, all three are incarnations of the same cube over three years, and they are all still being produced), it helps increase income. It's the reason why Valkyrie is still being produced, despite V2 being made and distributed.

Chances are they will make a normal colored version so they can make more money with the mold used for the limited editions, as it would be cheaper for then in the sense that they would be reusing the mold instead of wasting it.
I must admit, when I first saw the Beyblade Burst system I liked the simplicity. The three layer design reminded me more of the original Bakuten Shoot Beyblade designs, in the way that they only had three parts that essentially made any difference in play. If it were down to my opinion I would put my bets on Takara Tomy trying to tap into the market of first generation Beyblade fans, but that's assuming they are to be releasing these Beyblades.

If they were to only do the limited run of 100 gold Driger S burst versions I would find that a strange move on the part of Takara Tomy. There would be an awful lot of money put in to the production of these 100, and for what profit? Assuming they were to use a pre-existing Driver and Weight Disk there would only be the attack ring to make, but surely that would still be a negative for them? They would have to pay staff of the company to design and make the mold and stickers, then manufacture the product itself.

I am not saying that it is not possible but I personally can't see how this will be very beneficial to Takara Tomy other than through marketing power. There would be very little point in putting the Beyblade in to VERY limited production, in my opinion anyway. It would make more sense to put the regular version out in stores, and have this be a special pre-release version of sorts.

I do hope they release burst versions of these Beyblades though, at least I can say for certain that my money will be raining on them, and most likely a lot of other peoples, too.
Is it just a layer or a full bey? Or do we even know? If they are full beys I hope Driger S has a Metal Change driver! Dragoon S with that blue soft rubber maybe (doubtful they would though Crying ) Dranzer S with some kind of HF/S probably. Man I am gonna be so disappointed if these never get released.
I wish there was a Gold Dragoon for burst

It should be a full Beyblade.
It better be a full beyblade haha

Sorta the reason i started to get into burst, it reminded me of the plastic gen, XD for that reason i Would LOVE ti see these beys remade into burst.
Considering how much it must cost to design and release a beyblade and the fact that the gold one is a limited special edition i'd be surprised if TT don't make a normal grey one either for normal release or something close to it like Amaterios.
