I broke 2 string launchers from these tests Uncertain
Nice tests 1234Beyblade!!! It shows that Wyvern has pottential in defence.
Wyvern Heavy Defense outspun Kerbeus Heavy Defense? That's bizarre ... not what I've experienced. Thanks for the tests!
Thanks for the tests man! Although Wyvern Outspinning kerbeous makes sense to me because it looks more aerodynamic because the blades are facing opposite of the other layers. But dont own a wyvern so im basing that of pictures.
Yeah, I am going with Kei on this one, I think it is pretty darn close, but I think, everything else being equal, Kerbeous outspins Wyvern. That is currently it's only use.
Edit. Nope, I guess you are right, Wyvern does seem to outspin Kerbeus. That's weird, it is close too, but I must have just been out launching my opponent when I won with it. Lol
New tests have been added to the OP (Wyvern Spread Survive is now complete, make sure to check the spreadsheet for detailed results (clicks and round by round walkthroughs)). I will do WHA ASAP.
I'm really thankful of your thread because the first combo I want to make is a Wyvern based one, this really helps me a lot!

Could you not discard the other drivers? (i.e.: Fusion, Claw, Blow -if you have them-)
if they are bad with Wyvang, at least we will know why
Great tests, thanks for sharing!

Was surprised to see Wyvern Spread Survive Vs. Valkyrie/Spriggan Spread Accel. Why Spread, in both cases?

I just have a bias problem with spread haha.
This test really is intriguing but I have an idea for a combo but not the Beyblade Bursts to do so. But maybe one of you guys can test it out, I have had an idea about Wyvern Wing Accel or the thinnest attack influenced disk there is (maybe Aero). I had the idea that maybe Wyvern could spin steal with the rubber looking material popping out of the layer similar how Meteo L-Drago spin steals, I thought that maybe not only will it have decent or above average stamina but perhaps while Wyvern does a barrage when low on stamina it can get enough stamina to finish of it's opponent whether it be any of the finishers. I sent this combo to test to some youtubers to showcase it but they haven't done it yet but at least one of them replied back that they were going to test it so there is still some hope. (and if you want to go for style points you can use the B-14 Wyvern Layer with the B-12 Accel driver from Deathscyther.)

To steal spin, you absolutely need to have two Beyblades spinning in different rotation directions. Also, the material projecting from the clear casing of Wyvern is plastic. It is not really as soft as Meteo L Drago's plastic/rubber was, and it is definitely not at all the same material as the rubber used in all rubber Bottoms in Metal Fight Beyblade. It is really just plastic that absorbs shocks slightly.

Oh ok then I have really been mistaken, thank you for explaining how spin steal works and thank you for telling me this. I guess Wyvern Wing Accel won't be the best I can do. But I wont give up, but to be honest I still want to do a Wyvern Combo, but at this point I think I will just make an attack type Ragnaruk unless it's a booster...And even then I will improve on it. But I guess my master plan has been foiled.
Does anyone find Wyvern to be really easy to Burst?

Not from my experience, and I do not remember anyone posting anything about that either. It does get stuck to BeyLauncher prongs though and screws things up for a while, but after that it acts well.

Huh.
Yes, I have those issues, but it seems really easy to Burst. I haven't really had many battles since the initial 20, where it doesn't burst.
Does anyone here like original Wyvern? I haven't seen anything combos, much less disscusion with "armed" (might start one) but I honestly haven't had any issues with it. Yes, Wyvern is prone to busting a bit more and naturally there are better defensive forge disc's that may help prevent that but there's something about keeping Wyvern just like he is due to his abnormal shape and decent defense/counters. Those counters have turned into devastating burst delivered by Wyvern. Good counters are most luck but its mainly dependent on how you rip it.

Personally I've been okay using it with yell and orbit without bursts

Massive is a terrible driver, actually. You'd be better off using Defense. And also, Wyvern has been outclassed. Things like Alter Chronos and Blaze Ragnaruk do better at it's job. Armed is outclassed by Down, as well, which is also not a very good disc. I would use Knuckle or Spread.
Im going to have to disagree with the idea that massive is terrible. Im not saying that Its my favorite or anything but when it absorbs big hits, massive allows it to slide away (like a bumper) instead of potentially taking more hits or bursting.

I recently repurchased Wyvern 2 (hasbro) in his new fishing bait green color... as they released the new skins for select beys and so far with just addition of needle instead of massive, its proven its defensive capabilities. Wether ot was it out of the package or slightly modified.
Tonight I took on a scary tornado Wyvern comvo with both 1 and 2 of my Wyvern combos with much success.
Wyvern single layer/cental/survive has been quite entertaining. Wyvern 2/six-glave/press is a solid as far as im concerned.

I'm sorry but it is that bad, Massive is outclassed by every other defensive driver. It is KO'd far too easily and it has too much friction with the stadium which makes it prone to bursting aswell. By the way Tornado Wyvern is not a good layer at all! Whilst it has a really cool gimmick and even good burst defense it has absolutely terrible stamina which makes it very easy to outspin. Wyvern (TT) is a much better layer than Wild Wyvern and Tornado Wyvern. Btw if your reffering to the Hasbro version it is actually named Wyvron not Wyvern which makes the distinction very easy.
How would you recommend I use Wyvron? (hasbro)
(Aug. 27, 2017  2:01 PM)Wolfwing Wrote: [ -> ]How would you recommend I use Wyvron? (hasbro)

Don't, it doesn't come close to competive use since it's slopes are loose
Uncertain its a shame but ill have to take your word for it.
Since this is a Wyvern/Wyvron discussion. I do recommend my combo for funnzies in attempt to fuse hasbro and TT to make his layer usable. Again that was W2(hasbro/6_glaive(Takara)/Press (hasbro
(Aug. 27, 2017  2:01 PM)Wolfwing Wrote: [ -> ]How would you recommend I use Wyvron? (hasbro)

With hasbro burst some discs and drivers will make a tighter fit than others and considering as Wyvron is very prone to bursting whatever disc/driver combo fits tighest will be the best (though I still would avoid attack drivers). I personally find press to have the tightest fit of all my hasbro defense/stamina drivers however I have 2 and one is tighter than the other. Though as already stated it isn't likely to hold its own at a tournament regardless of the disc/driver used
Ill have to ask my buddy what he was using on Tornado to make him so formittable. I believe he used "Trans" or Atomic. Im pretty unfamiliar with Takara so I could be wrkng but its stamina and choice of weight really made it hard to burst or out last. Even though I used Betromoth and X-Calius (Takara) which I almost always am able to deliver bursts or at least survive. Alas I couldn't break its defense.
