As you have seen from the latest big announcement, Beywiki is merging with Beyblade Wiki, and this of course involves a lot of work that we cannot do all on our own, so we'd like to ask for your help!

This topic is actually the easy part of the whole move: all you need is an account on the Beyblade Wiki, and then you do copy-paste!

Worklist:
(Article titles in blue have a formatted full-Beyblade article already; only the separate parts' articles need to be created.)

Letters I, J and K (Click to View)

Letters O and P (Click to View)

Letters Q and R (Click to View)

Letter S, T, and U (Click to View)

Letters V, W, and Z (Click to View)

This is not to say that it is not up for debate, but globally it should be safe to transfer the above articles from Beywiki to Beyblade Wiki, whether the articles exist there already or not.

And of course, please post about your progress here, to avoid people working on the same thing twice!

As more articles are categorized into the two main lists, the copy-paste sections will be posted here so that you all can know which articles are OK to move. Thank you to all who will contribute, in advance! Get your eyes on that Peridot Face!

I'll also elaborate once again; "copy-paste" does not mean to directly copy and paste the entire article. It's the content on the article that needs that, not the layout and the templates. If you're going to be copy and pasting as well, I advise you hop into the editor on Beywiki and copy from there, as you can see the source code for the article there, and it prevents the formatting (font, colour, size etc) from being copied as span tags as well.

If anyone does have any questions, pop me a message here and I'll reply as soon as I see the message. If you prefer quick responses as well, message me and ask for my Skype, as a few editors have asked already.

EDIT: Just checked over The Beymaster's issue and thought I'd touch on it; for Beyblade articles, the Article Layouts include text under each part heading that looks something similar to {{Part|PARTTYPE - PARTNAME}}. This is a Part Import, which will fetch the information needed from the article for that part. For example, for Round Shell MS, the article for the Attack Ring would be "Attack Ring - Turtle Crusher".

Of course, if you go to create the Beyblade article using those, as you haven't created the Part articles yet, you're just going to see a wall like this when you preview your edit:

Because of this, when working on a Beyblade article, you must create the articles for the individual parts used on the Beyblade first. Your process should basically consist of:

Check the Part Articles already exist >>> Create any Part Articles that don't exist and fill them in with the information from the Beyblade article >>> Wrap the "Description" heading in <onlyinclude> tags (see How to Utilise Part Imports) >>> Create/Edit the Beyblade Article using our Page Layouts >>> Test that the finished result appears properly.

It makes Beyblade articles seem like a lengthly process, but that's exactly what it is. We never expected the process to be easy, but it makes the article system as a whole function far better.
I might as well start with A. I should have both of the lists done by the end of tonight.

Oh nice, you just went ahead and posted the rest of them all together.
That is correct! Did it for the other thread too.
Done with Beybattle try set, Beyblade Product Lists, Big Mac 320 Yen, Banking, Track List. Working with Dark-Knight Dragoon! Will be done till next sunday. Doing rest.
What exactly did you do ... ?
Created articles on them and also done with Product lists and tracks list.
You created articles on Beyblade Wiki for them? Did you talk to Kai-V before doing this?
Yes I have asked her.
Just to note, it's probably best that each person takes a letter to themselves if you're going to help out. If we just have stray articles being done here and there, it's going to become extremely confusing if someone else goes back and attempts to do it.

So yeah, if you can declare when you're starting a letter and finishing a letter, it would probably make things far easier for everyone to see. It might be an idea to include a header on Beywiki on an article that has already been brought across, but the thread thing should suffice for now.

On another note, some great work guys!
Well I've got the As then.
That's not to say that you should take on the entire letter yourself either. If you can't finish it, just say where in the list you got up to and someone else can take it from there. I just want to make sure it's clear to everyone what has been done and what hasn't, haha.

I'm currently working on the articles that Vikram brought over as, while they were copied over, none of them abide by the house style that we laid down when we started this project. It might be easier to remove them for now and work on them one-by-one.

Just as a reminder; while this does say "copy-pasted", we're referring to the content, not the layout. The layouts should be derived from the one's we've prepared in advance. If you need assistance with this, let me know and I'll help as best as I can.

Currently doing F category for the evening as per this post.
Finally glad to see people starting to pitch in. Thanks guys!
In the process of doing Round Shell MS and Roller Defenser. Not much but I am a bit nervous so I just wanted to try.
Edit-Maybe not, this is more complex than I thought and I am struggling.

What are you struggling with ? Only the infobox and of course the missing pictures should be causing trouble.

Created articles today-

vikrambeyblade, as much as I really appreciate your eagerness to help, unfortunately I have to ask you to stop transfering articles and creating full-Beyblade articles. You can clearly see that the SG Flat article is messed up because you did not copy the actual source code for the page on Beywiki, so the list of contents is screwed up, which means we will have to go over this page and fix it ourselves. Your previous added articles also required us to do double-work because they had to be checked and deleted. You apparently do not look over your articles after you create them ...

Your part-specific pages actually seem OK, but you do not understand the mechanics of content import that we are trying to do for all the full-Beyblade articles - you just copied and pasted the descriptions of the parts straight into the Beyblade articles.

We have to make sure that we are not working over anybody's work, in order not to waste time.

A slight backtrack is needed : as ~Mana~ mentioned and thoroughly explained in his post above, it is true that part description imports are required now more than ever. Since we are transfering articles, we may as well searchh through all different part descriptions and only transfer the best one over to the Beyblade Wiki.

My initial plan was for full Beyblade articles to be transfered and then, when everything was on Beyblade Wiki, we could start dissecting all the Beyblade articles and transforming them into all parts imports. However, since there are apparently a lot of technicalities that are causing issues and headaches in doing simple copy-pastes anyway due to a different BeyBox being used for general information, let us change this course of action.

Please find the best part description for a part and simple transfer that content into a part-specific article.

This process involves just a few simple steps :
- Copy the best of the part's descriptions' source code;
- Create a page similar to the Layer - Deathscyther article and keep the same naming scheme : globalpartcategory - partname
- Make sure to always look and edit pages in the source code mode;
- Post about the completed part(s) here and someone else can work on putting the full-Beyblade article together.

Now, since the part imports and BeyBox things are confusing to most and require technical comprehension, I will focus on certain people and go through the process of creating full-Beyblade articles with those people specifically, but it is not something I have the time to teach to everybody at the moment.

All in all : This is not a simple copy-paste job anymore. It requires just a few more steps.
lol ok I'm gonna rewrite that deathscyther article
