I have a solution !!!! It's more like an idea for the next season of burst.
The colored part with the teeth in the layer should be in metal (painted metal)
so the teeth will not wear easily and the beys will be more powerful !!!

This was already suggested and already countered with the fact that it would then be the Driver's plastic that would get worn. There is nothing to do with the current mechanism, it needs to be changed altogether.
And here I initially thought they were all the same.... *sigh*

SO, If they did get worn out, would replacing the plastic inside by unscrewing it and replacing it with an identical part from the same Beyblade or another with the same Layer be legal? For example, if the ridges on blue Valk wore out so I took the one from my red Valk and replaced it because teh Plastic part was still good.

Also inb4 mold variations and lots of them.

You should probably just use another Valkyrie Layer without disassembling anything.
Yeah, if the teeth are in better condition, then theoretically the rest of the layer would be too
Got my new Spriggan Layer in and its teeth look identical to my old Spriggan that I've used several hundred times. Really seems like the long, sharp tooth is the major problem.
Ha, imagine Burst spikes that face forward so it's hard to Burst but easy to fit the Layer on Driver.
I suspect that's how they would've done it if possible, but probably the spikes would just get messed up from that angle.

Yeah, that's true.

I think the other way round on same direction would be worse as clicking it on would inevitably wear it and it would come off too easily.
Yeah I think they just need to design teeth that are more like kerbeous. My old worn Kerbeus that I have launched at least 2k times looks almost identical to my new one before I even used it. I suppose Valkyrie would burst too easily with those teeth though, with all the recoil, but maybe make them bigger but still more rounded? I dunno, but I am definitely hoping that the next superior attack type has teeth that will stand the test of time and I am especially hoping that is the case with Amaterios.
To discuss the teeth and wear even further. I have thought up of a few ways that could essentially fix the problems they have but of course.... requires changes of the design to either the layer or the driver.

Changing the Layer.

Changes to the layer specifically for Valkyrie/Deathscyther types would be the most simplistic as it only requires the change of two parts and keeps the entire game the same. This is almost like making a mold 2 as done in the PHW Libra or something like the track H145.

1) Making the teeth deeper.

(Borrowed this image from Mitsu's post).

For some reason, a the layers have really thin teeth depth wise. There's plenty of room left to make them wider. By making them wider they would be more reinforced at the cost of being slightly harder to burst as there is more resistance. Making them more shallow and making wider would most likely yield the same performance while giving the less wear.

2) Changing the peaks.

By slightly changing the design, you can have the same performance yet brace the teeth quite a bit with the thicker plastic. The thicker plastic will allow the teeth to last longer, and not wear as quickly. If it did wear the plateau would still retain the same upwards slope. The travel from the bottom to the top remains the same, which in turn retains the torque needed to jump from one tooth to the next, and the plateau wont impact the actual burst mechanic greatly as it will immediately jump from the plateau to the next notch.

Changing the Driver.

Changing the driver requires a lot more changes, and possibly changing the game as a whole.

3) Adding a second groove on the Driver.
Will reduce the torque load and pressure on just two teeth at a time. It distributes the force of collision to four teeth at a time. This type of change will also require a change in either the teeth on the layer or the grooves on the driver as it will increase the resistance of the burst mechanism.

Of course this is all just speculation.
Cool ideas. You should submit them to TT
I finally updated the opening post with Deathscyther's data. As always, do not hesitate to let me know if your findings are different from what is described.
Those two teeth on Deathscyther are identical to Valkyrie's, FWIW. And there's no difference between the two, one isn't fatter than the other. It seems the teeth have fixed shapes that they reutilize across different designs.
interesting... looks like Valkyrie but with a flatened tooth :\

The first definitely seems fatter than the second to me, but perhaps I should check with one of the other Deathscythers ...
It's very hard to discern details at that small size, especially when accounting for manufacturing variances :')
but in practice Deathscyther has a better resistance then valkyrie?!
Obviously, since the shape is far less aggressive.
ok but I mean in term of wearing
Because the recoil is less, the teeth wear down more slowly. But they will eventually wear down the same way.
ok thx to clarify it Wink
This thread you made is really helpful,Kai-V. I enjoyed it very much. I hope that Takara Tomy will solve this problem about burst.
Update on my nail polish Valkyrie tooth fix. It seems to be coming along nicely. The gel polish (clear coat, not colored) seems to dry and be almost the same consistency as plastic. I painted the teeth so that they were even with the flat part of the circle that connects all the teeth. Then I carved out teeth in Valkyrie's normal shape, but a bit thicker at the tops. I messed up on one side though so I only have one side done right now. The other side I cleaned off, repainted and it is drying. I am going try to carve it out again tomorrow. I use a razor blade to carve it out with. I just cut down in a V and then push the excess out with the razor as well. You guys should try it with other materials or try it with the gel clear coat nail polish if you have any worn Valkyries that are useless anyway. Make sure it is the gel because it is much more durable. I will post here tomorrow after I carve it out and test it. Here's hoping it will give me a free Valkyrie layer to practice with!
Again, I will state this to make it absolutely clear: this will make this Valkyrie layer ILLEGAL for tournament play. If anyone tries to do this to enhance their bey for a tournament then it will be easily spotted and there will be severe consequences
So I was able to borrow a screwdriver to take the teeth thing off the of the top layer so i took plenty of photos.....
