So, here we show to see if anime/manga/movie swords could be practical in real battle, or just remain an epic looking fantasy sword.
So to start this off, Keyblade! from what I think is X-Blade, i dont really know, well you anime fans know for sure! anyway, down to the main part, errr, any edge on this thing, ok, yes weight means momentum in a duel, but with no edge, how will this work? secondly, that guard is HUGE, and should not cover both sides the way it does, just does not seem comfortable Here is my improved idea of the keyblade: Sharpened end, so at least it can cut like a sword, and one half of the guard taken off, to make it work better. of course, beyond that it wouldnt really look like a keyblade anymore so...

Dang, this sword is huge! approximetly 4 foot blade, and half-foot handle, huge, and near one foot wide, and one inch thick, I bought one, and, on my scale, weighs 11 pounds, to wield this one handed (The handle comfortably can fit one hand) would take some strength, now momentum is something, but being able to swing it fast is neccessary to do so, given how heavy this sword is, its not going to be swung fast, in order for this sword to be used, the steel would have to be magnesium-aluminum alloy, which is not good for any sword over the length of 20 inches. so this sword would not be practical in real battle. My improved version of this sword is the blade not as thick, and only a half-foot wide, making this only weight about 5 pounds, which in my book is useable.

hope that tiny little line gives you an idea of this
sword. the real thing out of Carbon Steel weighs 89 pounds, making it the heaviest sword in history. also, being giant, it is 6 feet long x 1 foot wide x 1 inch thick, handle is about a foot in length, even if we used Magnesium for the metal (Lightest metal so far) it would still weigh 31.7 pounds, so here is a better design:
-narrower blade (one half foot wide) - this would make this sword weigh 18 pounds, which is useable in my book.
One thing that i wanted to do was make guan yu's guan dao that supposedly weighs almost 100lbs, idont think it will really weigh that much but ill see when i finish it, im in the process of making a prototype.

I'm only finding sources that say it was just under 40lbs.

depends on what steel he uses, if its a dense metal like
Tungsten it could weight that much, although, tungsten is brittle and hard to work with. (Has high melting point and snaps over everything)

Well see that 100lbs thing is really a myth from what i read ive seen ones that are 40lbs and honestly thats i think thats accurate if the shaft is 7ft and the blade 2ft, but i only want it to be 40lbs. The whole 100lbs thing is impractical for sure as i max 80lbs for bicep curls, i know somebody who could use with very limited motion but he also curls 100lbs in each hand.

The Buster is far too impractical to count as "functional". Poorly weighted and unweildy.
The Keyblade is basically a sharp cosplay piece. He admits that the Keyblade isn't a cutting weapon, so it's essentially a club. Why you'd bother making a keytooth club is beyond me.
They're both artworks. They take skill to make, and you're better off with a club or axe rather than either of those two pieces.

as i said, it being the heaviest sword in existence, just being 1/2 foot wide makes a huge difference in performance. and of course final fantasy 7 swords are impractical, they're huge, unless its the odachi sword, they are impractical.

Why he made a keytooth club? Because people requested it. That club can still hurt someone seriously though. It is metal, and since it is metal, it can also guard against swords. The Keyblade isn't made to be a cutting weapon in the first place, in Kingdom Hearts. That's why when you play it knocks the opponents back.
He also made Sephiroth's sword which is very long, and Ichigo's sword from the anime Bleach, which is a big sword and all metal.

Did I ever say that it was meant to be a cutting weapon? No.
You're being rather defensive about something that nobody has criticized.

about them being impractical is rather true, although, is every fantasy sword that way though? thats why im searching all over for fantasy swords.
