Is everyone assuming iphone os4 is going to have multi tasking?
Because

A) The iPad running one app at a time. This is really stupid.
B) Think of other really big, exiting features
C) Android has it.
my 3gs screen scratched today Unhappy
I suppose it's bound to happen eventually. I really hate the iPhone screen for that reason.

One of my cousins gave me a Neo Geo as a late birthday present. I really like it even though the games are the size of magazines.
The iPhone screen is pretty resistant generally, I have no clue how it happened.
how bad is the scratch?
Pretty bad, it's an inch long and my finger can feel it.
I have one on my touch screen to. If you keep the brightness down, you can't see any dead pixels or anything.
I made a vow, whoever buys an iPad is no longer able to talk to me. I know a person who went boarder shopping to get one. Same person says the PS3 costs too much moneyz. iLaughed.

you're a tool
Or just likes buttons.
Whoever heard of an apple tablet with buttons. It'l never catch on...
The ipad is pretty hideous... looks like a render of a giant iphone. the home button looks so out of place on it.
Of all the things about it, you call it hideous? It looks nice to me, as does all of Apples stuff.
The thing is, as a tablet pc the iPad doesn't accel at that job. Mostly becuase of the whole 1 application being allowed to run at a time thing.

As a serious attempt at getting into the video game market, once again, it kind of stumbles. Games for it are getting more and more expensive to develop as it's HD, but the immediate consumer base is one that expects low priced stuff, and where titles will be forgotten in a pretty large marketplace. From a gameplay perspective, opnions will vary, in my opinion, it's a better device than an iPhone, or an iPod Touch because of the larger screen, which helps with the mess that having fingers on a screen will do to the player's vision. That said, relying solely on touch, and tilt controls aren't exactly the most precise of things.

As an ebook reader, it looks great. Obviously music playback, and mobile browsing will be solid, if not somewhat limited.

The product's design itself kind of gives the impression that it is an oversized iPhone, while the insides are clearly not. That's a bit lazy, but expected when you want uniformity within a product line. The design, while solid, does kind of look off, like something is not totally right there.

I say all of this as someone who isn't actually interested in buying a tablet, and isn't thrilled with touch controls. So obviously, your appreciation, or lack there of of both the product, and my opinion of it, will be different.
I'l right something proper in reply tomorrow, but for now:

I somewhat agree, the iPad is overall a jack of all trades, master of a few. I really believe Os4 will fix the multitasking problem though, as a cashgrab. And the flaw many are pointing out "it'just a big itouch!" are missing the point. A big itouch is exactly the reason I want one, and why it will be succsessful.
The home button on the iPad really kills it. It needs to be there, but couldn't they have found a better way?

I don't know weather to laugh or cry.
Oh dear...
It was bound to happen.
lol this is cool, but do they really expect people to run out and buy new Blu-Ray players for these?

I think it will encourage people to get blue ray burners in their comps.
Back in the day, weren't the first couple of waves of DVD players unable to read dual-layer discs? I assume that if movies and tv shows start using those new BDs that eventually it'll become widespread. Although I don't see many things using that much space that isn't a TV show.
These better not become what the ps3 uses for games. Or widespread at anything for that matter.
