Isn't this the anime whose dub came out before the sub or something? A friend of mine's been bugging me about this for weeks, lol.

Yeah man. Haha It's actually pretty funny. I kinda like it Just thought there was already a thread for this topic.

I'm waiting a bit so I can binge watch it, I saw that people who worked on Soul Eater and FMA were helping with it and I flipped out hah. I heard it was pretty funny :3

Everyone keeps talking about how awesome it is, so I'll watch it eventually. It sounds alright, but seems a little Cowboy Bebopish (probably because the same guys made Cowboy Bebop) and I wasn't really impressed with that anime. And yes, Toonami is releasing the dub at the same time that the Japanese version airs.

I love the anime

this anime was that one anime i felt i had to watch because i like the makers, but didn't look like my kind of anime. so glad i went and watched it. i do have to turn my reviewer mind off plot wise, but man its just the best mindless fun ive had in a while.

I wouldn't say you're missing out on much, it just really depends on your taste. It's all right so far. Decent visuals, the comedy is a bit average (nothing laugh out loud funny). Episodic, so there's no overall plot (like Cowboy Bebop). Hmm... I'll say, if you didn't really care for Cowboy Bebop, you probably won't care for Space Dandy.

Yeah, I figured :p I'll give it a shot when I get around to it, regardless, but I'm not really one for episodic anime without comedy or shows that take place in outer space but don't logically make sense (things like space ships exploding with smoke and fire & being able to hear sound, despite being in a vacuum)
The visuals do look pretty cool though & people keep saying it's good, so I'm not going to knock it until I try it.

It seems good, I never started it yet, but I eventually will. Maybe this weekend? haha.

It's really interesting though, the creator of the show Code Geass, wrote the storyboard for Space Dandy. This show is pretty much a bunch of directors, creators, writers from other shows mixed into one show, that's why Space Dandy has been sort of hyped recently hah.

Anyone else watching season 2 ? I think it's pretty funny so far. I can't help but wonder if one of the scenes from the first episode resemble the Colossal Titan, hah. The big guy with the microphone.

Best anime ever.

I watched the first 5 episodes...got to say, I understand the appeal, but this type of humor isn't for me. There is way too much reliance on visual gags. The humor lacks complexity...which is fine, but this happens consistently with every "joke". There is literally a space station called "Boobies" and that it. Thats the joke. The end. There is nothing supporting it.

Whats more, I cant get into the characters. The first 2 episodes really helped establish who they were, and they did have a charm. But the problem is that their is no complexity to them or to their humor after the fact, and after that second episode, you know who is going to say what kind of joke. That's what happened to "Friends" after 10 years, and with "Two and a Half Men" after five seasons, what "Big Bang Theory" (as much as I love it) is going through now, and it only took Space Dandy 2 episodes to do the same.

Is it over ;-;??

Space Dandy has come to an end. I sure as hell won't miss it.

I believe what you meant to say is that "it's just not awesome [TO] you". The power of one extra word is exponential.

Anyway, I like the show, but I've missed a couple of episodes. I will watch them when I finish my other shows. There is some plot, it's just spread out between several doomed timeline and pure (Bottom Spike) episodes.

I tried watching the 2nd season when airing, but never really got hooked. :\
