hello
im new obviously. dunno how to start my introduction. maybe with a story

my gf's ex bought for himself and their 3 kids some beyblade stuff. we both thought it was kinda dumb. we had a whatever opinion about it. and at the time the kids had been watching all the ridiculous beyblade cartoons on netflix
he bought a green darkhelm stadium thats so cheap and flimsy that its not even worth half its price and along with it golem and salamander shogun steel beys. needless to say the kids went absolutely apecrap over them and their father looked like a total fool sitting on the floor spinning tops that were later declared as all his rather than "for" the kids

my step children are between the ages of 4 and 7. the two boys are both on the autism spectrum with other mental disorders and add. i do not know for how long theyll be interested in blading but for now their interest is pretty heavy. their launches and spin are all terrible, but since ive sat down with them they can actually set their launchers up & launch properly on their own, but they still need work on pulling the ripcord harder and not shooting their beys accross the room

my interest in bey's came after spending time with the youngest and the beys his father bought on a day where his siblings were still at school and we had some one on one bonding time. for me being an adult it was pretty straight forward, but for an autistic 4 year old with extra disorders and out of control add it was pretty difficult for him so i had to literally teach him how to put the rip cord in the launcher, hold it, attach the bey, pull it, now pull it harder. the works
after that we bladed in the stadium a little and it was fun enough that i decided it wasnt enough and i had to think of extra fun things. i set up ramps and shot the beys accross the floor to jump them through the air and then that progressed into ramping them through the air into the stadium. i showed him how to move his launcher hand while he pulled the ripcord to make the bey go in a straight line & we raced them accross the kitchen floor. then i showed him the bey bouncing down our carpeted stair steps like a slinky. next i was balancing the bey on top of an upside down cup and tossed it up in the air and caught it still spinning in the palm of my hand

we had such a blast that day that i decided to buy my own beys the next time i was at walmart so that all of us could battle together without squabbling over whos turn it was
in the meantime i spent a morning researching beyblades and learned that there were actual sciences and physics at play behind the disguise of a toy. that got me pretty interested.
fun, science, and customization. a pretty awesome combination that i have a weak spot for
i learned that there were actually purposes to all the different parts other than looks although im pretty certain that most of it is minor and the most important performance deciders lie with the tips and metal wheels
i found myself at walmart the next day and with the little bit id learned in mind i chose two beys. a stamina and a defense type (pirate kraken & pirate orochi). i was thinking about that saying about a defense being a good offense
i got home and put orochis stamina tip on krakens defense track & synchromed their metal wheels. then i modded my launcher to keep its arl out of the gear
nobody could beat my bey combo. not even against 2 other beys at once, not even against the golem salamander snychrome combo even when ripped as hard as possible by their father. mine spun forever long after the others were all defeated. it was too easy so i split them back into two beys, but i kept orochis stamina tip on kraken. they still cant beat my kraken though
im convinced that golem and salmander are both terrible beys. also after a couple days of mosh pit blading both of my beys are beat up really bad. the metal and plastic parts are nicked & dented all over. i wonder if im spinning them way too fast

ive also been researching the rapidity clone beys and have been curious as to what the part compatibility is like with the shogun steels. we are looking into buying rapiditys on ebay and more shogun steels from wally.

at this point the whole family is into blading. their father is 25, my gf 27, and im 32 & we all have a blast with it
when i get some more money i plan on getting samurai ifrit to see how well an attack wheel would work with a huge defense track & stamina tip
i would like to make an attempt at teaching my step children about the different parts and how they work so they can build their own bey combos with purpose. to aid in that ive clipped the parts rating lists from the back of their packagings as references for the parts we own

thank you for reading
Welcome! As a fellow blader-dad, it's nice to see you getting into it. My oldest is also on the spectrum, and he loves his parts and combos.

Be careful with the Rapidity stuff. It's cheap, and breaks easily. Cheap may be what you're looking for, though, depending on how well the kiddos take care of their stuff.

Make sure you read the PM Kai-V sent you, and you'll do just fine here.
Hello Zenkoma! Welcome to the WBO!

I like it when people make a long Introduction, it gets me excited!

Do not get Rapidity Beyblades, they are fake, and they break really easily. If you can just get the Hasbro Shogun Steel's and the TAKARA-TOMY (Japanese) Zero-G and 4D Beyblades.

Also, the ratings on the backs of the packages are mostly incorrect and aren't even true.

I recommend that you get these following Shogun Steel Beyblades:

-Archer Gargoyle
-Ronin Dragoon
-Guardian Leviathan

Once again, welcome to the WBO! Hope you have fun, and make sure to read all the rules!

Welcome! I guess thats why you should never mock something until you try it? haha. I hope you have a fun time here.
