I just happened to visit my frequented anime site and I saw this and since it was fairly similar to SAO, heck might as well try it.
Wikipedia's Plot:
"By its eleventh expansion pack, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Elder Tale (エルダー・テイル ErudÄ Teiru?) has become a global success, having a following of millions of players. However, during the release of its twelfth expansion pack: Novasphere Pioneers (ノウアスフィアã®é–‹å¢¾ NÅasufia no Kaikon?), thirty thousand Japanese gamers who are all logged on at the time of the update, suddenly find themselves transported inside the game world and donning their in-game avatars. In the midst of the event, a socially awkward gamer called Shiroe along with his friends Naotsugu and Akatsuki form a guild called Log Horizon so that they may face this world which has now become their reality along with the challenges which lie ahead."
If you do plan on giving this anime a try, let me know what you think!

I've went ahead to read several First Impressions of the anime off websites and checked out review videos on Youtube, and most reviews were kinda dissatisfied with it. I can see why though.
Many SAO fans think Log is just a ripoff. I can see why, but there are quite a bit of MMO animes out there already. Sure they got stuck in the game as well, but all is known is that the players got trapped the moment the Novasphere update was released (Only probable cause), unlike SAO where you actually put that whatever-gear on, try to log out, and then you find out you're stuck.
Log has a somewhat poor introduction. In SAO, Kirito teaches some of the basics since he was a BT and SAO was newly released. In Log, almost everyone iirc is at the cap level of 90 plus it wasn't a new game, so mentioning the basics (except trying to use commands) never happened, which is totally understandable from my POV. Can't really expect the cast to kill an episode just to inform you about everything.
Many reviews and First Impressions also hit out on the animation as somewhat poor. Well, many were comparing it to SAO, obviously it'd be barf. I thought the animation was okay but it wasn't exactly bad. Not as good as SAO, .hack and such but still good enough for me.
Log is also different because I *believe* it's going to focus on a whole bunch of characters which is abstractedly different from SAO since it focuses on Kirito x Asuna. There's also not much romance going about so plots are somewhat straight to the point. The main character of Log is dubbed 'Strategist' so I can only assume he wouldn't be someone like Kirito who'd just rush out and attack monsters on sight. (Other than the fact that he tried to die in the first episode)

VAs (Click to View)
VAs though, many beyblade fans would be quite familiar with them. The first three characters in the first episode are Shiroe, Naotsugu, and Akatsuki.
Shiroe is voiced by Takuma Terashima (Who also voices Unabara Kite in ZeroG), and he's known as the Strategist. Considering Kite tries to plan everything perfectly, don't you think their roles are similar?
Naotsugu (Tomoaki Maeno, voices Helios in the MFB Sol Blaze movie), the open pervert and he apparently rejoined the game in Log after his rl work lessened.
Akatsuki (Emiri Katou, voices Yumiya Kenta in MFB) is a super kawaii assassin who joins Shiroe and Naotsugu to search for clues in the game. She had undergone some kind of disguise in game that made her look like a guy but then Shiroe gave her a potion and she changed... obviously.
There are also some other VAs. I checked on Wikipedia and the VAs for Lisabeth (SAO) and Kotomine Kirei (FSN/FZ) will also have roles in this anime.
